Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method of destruction of an underwater object.
- the invention relates more particularly to a method destruction of a bottom mine or a moorland mine.
- Known methods of destroying an underwater mine background include a detection step and / or mine identification and destruction step the mine by means of a high explosive charge, by example of the order of 50 to 100 kg, deposited at a distance of a few meters from the mine to be destroyed by means of a ship generally unmanned submarine.
- Orin mines are destroyed by a process similar detection and / or identification that is tracked of a destruction step consisting in hanging on the orin a pyrotechnic shear which is placed by means a remote-controlled or wire-guided underwater vessel to cut the rope and bring the mine to the surface where it is destroyed.
- a method according to this principle is for example described in the document MARINE ENGINEERS REVIEW (Volume 604, October 1973, pages 33 and 34).
- Intermediate equipment can be installed on the bottom from an intermediate submarine vehicle or directly from a surface vessel or aircraft.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a improvement of this process which ensures with even more precision the approach of the object to destroy by the charge, whether it is a underground mine or a mooring mine with the possibility, in the latter case, to dock the mooring mine as a bottom mine and destroy by explosion in order to avoid, as happens in some cases that using a shear only has the effect of breaking the rope without destroy the mine which then rises to the surface.
- the invention provides a method of destruction of the type mentioned above, characterized in what the load is carried by a machine which is set works from the intermediate equipment to which it is connected by a connecting cable whose length is controlled to control the movements of the machine.
- a VS surface vessel which is for example a mine hunter whose mission is to destroy a mine MF bottom placed on the bottom F.
- the remote pilot surface vessel for example by wire guidance using a CP control cable, a VSM intermediate submarine vehicle which carries, so removable, a destruction unit UD.
- the destruction unit comprises a cradle or chassis which constitutes an EF intermediate equipment intended to be installed on the bottom F by the VSM underwater vehicle at a safety distance from the MF underground mine.
- the EF background intermediate equipment an EPC load carrier and a coil B.
- the coil B which is carried by the cradle of the EF bottom intermediate equipment allows reeling, during the descent phase of the VSM underwater vehicle, a CT remote control cable which therefore connects the destruction to the surface vessel which is equipped with a post for controlling and guiding the EPC load carrier.
- the machine EPC load carrier includes the load C and means of propulsion shown diagrammatically in the form of PO adjustable thrusters that allow self-propulsion of the EPC load carrier.
- the load carrying machine has a drum T on which is surrounded by a mechanical connection cable CL which, as can be seen in particular in Figure 3, connects the EPC load-carrying device at the cradle constituting EF bottom equipment which constitutes an anchor point for the connecting cable.
- the invention provides for connecting the cable CT transmission, edge side, to an extension cable which is wound and unwound from a reel located on board the mine hunter.
- Unwinding the CL connecting cable from the drum T, and possibly its winding in the case where the reel is motorized to constitute a winch, are controlled from a command station located for example on board the surface vessel VS to which the vehicle carrying EPC load is connected by the CT remote control cable which extends from coil B towards the carrier EPC load, for example by being intimately combined with CL connecting cable.
- the load-bearing device is a buoyancy device positive towards the surface.
- the positive buoyancy of the machine combined with the CL connecting cable fixed on EF equipment placed on the bottom and with the reel used as a brake, allow to control with a better accuracy vertical movements and by therefore the immersion positioning of the EPC vehicle, while not requiring energy for movement vertical of the EPC vehicle.
- the PO thrusters also allow, in association with positive buoyancy, to constitute a set of means for the self-propulsion of the carrier vehicle EPC load which allow to ensure with great precision its approach, and possibly its approach, of the MF underground mine.
- the approach and the docking of the mooring mine can be facilitated by MG guidance means which come automatically set up on the mine O to the mine to orin MO, during a first phase and thanks in particular to the use of PO thrusters, these means of MG guidance then allowing, by simply unwinding the cable CL link, to cause the lifting of the carrier EPC charge along the O line until it comes dock the MO sailor mine to cause its destruction.
- the cane mines can be destroyed directly without having to cut the rope, which is both more effective and safer than known techniques.
- the intermediate equipment EF instead of being previously placed on the bottom, is itself attached to the rut of the rut mine by the vehicle VSM submarine, which then moves away to be retrieved in surface by the mine hunter, and the load-carrying vehicle EPC is controlled from the mine hunter for go up along the orin until near the mine, at from the EF intermediate equipment attached to the rope.
- CT transmission cable can be initially connected to the VSM underwater vehicle.
- the unwinding of the cable CT transmission from coil B only occurs during of the ascent phase of the VSM underwater vehicle which returns to the surface vessel to allow the connecting the end of the remote control cable to the command post located on board the surface vessel.
- the intermediate equipment placed on the bottom includes propulsion means to allow its autonomous displacements on the bottom in order to further improve accuracy during the approach phase of the underground mine or the moorland mine.
- adjustable thrusters allows possibly to project the charge against the mine for cause the charge to explode automatically.
- the MD detection means carried by the EPC load carrier have a camera
- this enslavement can be carried out both in positioning and in distance.
