Description

The present invention relates to an improved device ensuring the immobilization and support of glass panels in particular consisting of two glazing twinned and parallel.

The establishment of glass structures as part of the realization of architectural complexes based on transparent walls and walls pose, at the level of technical achievements, a number of problems.

From an aesthetic point of view, it is desirable to avoid presence on the outer face of such walls, elements in the overflow position and strongly apparent. The wish of the designers, in terms of aesthetic as well as in terms of technical efficiency and a good seal, is to ensure continuity between the surfaces of adjacent glass panels.

This can be achieved in particular by the installation of glass panels joined together on one side rear support structure and other between them in using bonding techniques, thanks to the implementation of elastomeric components with high efficient and strong adhesion.

At the same time, however, it is necessary to allow free play, within limited margins, and a possibility of a certain movement or floating of the glass panels in relation to the supporting structure fixed, allowing absorption of changes inevitable linked for example to precipitation atmospheric, to the wind, to the behavior of materials in the face of dilation or parasitic trepidation transmitted by air or soil. We know, for this purpose, devices using load-bearing ball joints and serving as an interface between the glass panels and the fixed structure, the ball joint trapped in its housing allowing a limited angular play of an element by relation to another and avoiding constraints excessive.

Finally, it is desirable to provide methods and on-site assembly devices allowing installation quick and secure placement of panels, on the one hand for their jointing of their sealing between them, and on the other hand with a view to their joining on the load-bearing structure.

The problem is more complex when using glass panels made up of two surfaces glazed, or glazing, arranged in parallel and twinned.

In this case, in fact, the structure of the panel is rendered more complex by the presence of the two panes parallel. Therefore, the known solutions for assembly and support of glass panels consisting of a single glazing are no longer transposable.

The present invention aims to allow the realization of objectives which have been mentioned above and which constitute imperatives and constraints that it is necessary to respect in the assembly of panels when making large glass structures surfaces, while using glass panels to double glazing whose advantages are known on the plan insulation, particularly thermal, sound and others.

To this end, the invention relates to a device for immobilization and support of glass panels in architectural structures, the panels being made up of two paired parallel glazings and the device is characterized in that it consists a central sleeve formed of a body generally cylindrical internally comprising a housing of spherical shape, suitable for receiving a ball joint of a supporting structure, the socket comprising a disc outer annular arranged in an equatorial plane of said spherical housing and suitable for receiving on each of its faces the support of a glazing.

Preferably, the spherical housing communicates with the interior space of the architectural structure, containing the supporting structure, by an axis channel perpendicular to the general plane of the panel, this channel being crossed with play by a carrying rod connecting the ball joint inserted in said spherical housing at said supporting structure, and this channel presents an outlet open to the support structure and conical shape allowing angular variation and travel of the ball joint support rod around a position of average rest substantially perpendicular to the plane of the sign.

  • More preferably, the central bush includes a spherical housing consisting of:
  • a) a spherical crown coaxial with said channel and coming from the cylindrical body constituting the sleeve, the outer edge of the spherical crown merging with the equatorial plane of the patella itself containing the median plane of the outer annular disc, and said crown being extended by a threaded bore with an axis diametrically opposite to said channel, this bore formed in the cylindrical body constituting the sleeve being designed to lead to the external space of said architectural structure, and
  • b) on the other hand, a shutter engaged by screw from the outside in this threaded bore and of which a transverse face in the form of a hemispherical cap closes the receiving housing of said ball joint.
According to a development of the invention, the disc annular has on each of its faces a first groove arranged at the disc connection annular on the cylindrical body forming the sleeve central, said groove being able to receive a product seal able to be injected in situ during installation in place of the panel and the positioning of each of the glazing on each side of the annular disc interstitial support between the two panes.

According to another development, the annular disc has a second circular groove on each side receiving a bearing, one flat face of which overflows relative to the face of the annular disc to constitute a bearing surface of glazing coming to rest on said face.

More preferably, the annular disc has on each of its faces a third circular groove concentric and external to the previous two, suitable for receive an O-ring seal.

More completely, each first groove planned on each face of the annular disc has an outlet on the exterior, consisting of at least one notch in said cylindrical body, notch running along a generator from the transverse face of said body cylindrical and joining the level of said first throat.

According to a further development of the invention, the organ shutter, one hemispherical side of which closes the spherical housing, is mounted by a thread outside engaged in its threaded receiver bore and come from the cylindrical body, and this shutter has internally a threaded passage to receive a screw threaded head with a circular insert able to come to rest on the exterior face of the glazing correspondent with interposition of a washer damping interlayer.

Advantageously also, each glazing comprises a circular recess able to allow the engagement of the cylindrical body constituting the socket positioned way that the center of the spherical receptor housing the patella is positioned in the median plane of the disc annular, and the inner circular edge of each recess oriented towards the center of the socket is provided with a bevel or chamfer to allow the interposition of a flexible extruded seal filling also said first groove.

Preferably the flexible seal inserted in the housing formed by said first groove and the face chamfered corresponding glazing is formed of a elastomer based on single-component silicone or bicomponent.

More specifically, the receiving pad of the support of a glazing is formed from a washer of material damping, such as butyl, this washer being engaged in said second groove preferably in profile square and the washer projecting outwards to offer an annular face capable of receiving the support of a face of the glazing.

According to an alternative embodiment, the spherical crown being part of the spherical receiver housing of the ball joint came from an element engaged in said body cylindrical constituting the socket and coming into abutment in the bottom of a receiving bore arranged in said cylindrical body, and this element itself receives through a threaded passage, the engagement of the shutter threaded with a transverse face oriented towards the spherical crown consists of a cap hemispherical thus closing the receptor housing of the patella.

    • la figure 1 représente une vue en coupe d'un premier mode de réalisation de l'invention ;
    • la figure 2 représente une vue en coupe d'un second mode de réalisation de l'invention; et
    • les figures 3A et 3b montrent deux variantes du mode de réalisation de la figure 1.
The following description is given in relation to a preferred embodiment of the invention presented by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
    • Figure 1 shows a sectional view of a first embodiment of the invention;
    • Figure 2 shows a sectional view of a second embodiment of the invention; and
    • FIGS. 3A and 3b show two variants of the embodiment of FIG. 1.

In the figures, identical elements will bear the same references.

We can see that the glass structure is made up of a set of panels, one of which is depicted on drawings under reference 1, and it consists of two twin and parallel glazing 2a and 2b.

The panel is supported by a support structure 3, which it is connected by rod 4 ending by the ball 5.

This ball joint is inserted in a housing provided for the inside of a socket designated by the reference General 6 and made up, in its center, of a body of general cylindrical shape 7 from which radially outside, the annular disc 8.

The rod 4 carrying the ball 5 and connecting this last to the supporting structure 3, is engaged in a channel 9 through which the central spherical housing ball joint receiver 5 leads to the interior space architectural volume.

This channel has a conical shape open towards the structure carrier 3 arranged inside the space architectural.

This allows a slight movement of the structure load bearing in relation to the glass panels or Conversely.

    La rotule est à cet effet disposée dans son logement récepteur et le centre de la rotule sphérique est disposé dans le plan médian, d'une part de l'ensemble du panneau à double vitrage et d'autre part du disque annulaire 8. En d'autres termes, le plan médian du disque annulaire 8 est disposé selon un plan équatorial par rapport à la rotule 5 et à son logement récepteur, ce plan étant perpendiculaire à l'axe de la position moyenne de la tige 4;For this purpose, the ball joint is placed in its housing. receiver and the center of the ball joint is arranged in the median plane, on the one hand of the entire panel with double glazing and on the other hand of the annular disc 8. In other words, the median plane of the annular disc 8 is arranged in an equatorial plane with respect to the ball 5 and its receiving housing, this plane being perpendicular to the axis of the average position of the rod 4;

The spherical receiver housing of the ball joint 5 is consisting on the one hand by the spherical cap 7a coming from the wall of the cylindrical body 7 opening onto said housing, and on the other hand by the hemispherical wall 10 coming from the shutter 11 engaged by screwing inside a threaded bore provided on the cylindrical body 7, the transverse face 10 of this shutter thus coming close the spherical receiver housing the ball joint.

The annular disc 8 has on each side a first annular groove 14 disposed at the point of connection of the annular disc on the cylindrical body central 7. This gorge communicates with an outlet exterior by at least one notch 15 arranged locally and according to a generator on the wall of the body cylindrical 7.

This groove 14 faces a chamfered wall 16 coming a circular recess provided on the glazing located in look. This groove thus defines a circular housing accessible from the outside by said notch 15 and allowing on-site injection of bonding material and sealing, in particular based on silicone elastomer.

Advantageously use the sealant and for a glass application and known under the brand PROGLAZE. The injection can be done using devices injectable commonly used in the industry building using glass panels.

In fact injection on each side of the annular disc 8 so as to thus ensure the correct sealing of the panels respectively exterior 2a and interior 2b arranged in abutment on the disc 8.

We see that each disc has outward a second groove 17, of square profile in cross section and receiving a pad 18 consisting of a washer, also of square section, allowing engagement in said receiving groove.

The washer 18 can advantageously be made in butyl and it thus offers a circular face allowing the gentle and non-aggressive support of the glass surface on the receiving disc.

Encore vers la périphérie et sur chaque face du disque, on trouve une troisième gorge 19, concentrique aux précédentes et réceptrice d'un joint torique 20 assurant ainsi un complément d'étanchéité vers l'espace interne 6 compris entre les deux vitrages 2a et 2b.Again towards the periphery and on each side of the disc, there is a third groove 19, concentric with previous and receiving an O-ring 20 ensuring thus additional sealing towards the internal space 6 between the two panes 2a and 2b.

The socket 7 receiving the ball joint, in the housing spherical internal to the sleeve, and the annular disc 8 are made of rigid material which can be a synthetic composite material or an alloy suitable metal, preferably light such as aluminum-based alloy.

We understand that the whole can be assembled and put in place on site very easily.

The panels can indeed be prepared in the factory by securing of the two panes of glass on the receiving disc. This disc first receives the butyl pad formed of a preformed washer and the O-ring on which glazing is applied. The extrusion and injection through the flowing silicone notch and filling the primary groove and the circular housing corresponding, ensure total tightness and joining together after rapid setting of approximately two o'clock.

During installation, the rod 4 carrying the ball joint 5, not yet attached to the supporting structure, can be inserted and placed in its housing since the exterior, the shutter 11 then being in position clear. After inserting the patella in its housing, this housing is closed by screwing the shutter 11 whose hemispherical face restores the capacity spherical containing the patella. The installation of the screw outer engaged on the shutter and the wafer 13 security then completes this aspect of the mounting at panel level. Rod 4 can then be fixed to the supporting structure 3 by means of bolting in known manner, positioning adjustment of the patella according to the correct plan being performed by adjustment of the distance between the ball joint and the structure fixed 3.

The assembly allows panels and large glass surfaces easily laid in place on the site and ensuring technical advantages very precious.

We use standard elements and the assembly can thus be performed quickly and automatically. We prevents protrusion of protruding organs outwards and we realize a substantially continuous surface allowing a beautiful aesthetic effect.

The tightness of the whole is perfect and the structure thus achieved fully absorbs the effects and mechanical stresses, as well as the stresses related to thermal expansion.

The use of the ball joint system, here applied so original thanks to the device of the invention at double-glazed panels, allows travel between the glass structure and its supporting structure.

Figures 3A and 3B show an alternative embodiment in which the shutter 11 (of FIG. 1) is associated by a screw 12 with a locking piece 25, the upper and lower edges are bevelled and cooperate with corresponding beveled edges of the panel glass 2a. In FIG. 3B, the beveled blocking piece 25 is itself associated with a circular plate 13, by means of the screw 12, said plate circular 13 covering the edge of the glass panel 2a. The circular plate 13 extends beyond the support piece 25 beveled, with respect to the axis of symmetry defined by the screw 12 and the ball joint.
