Aufgrund von Kosten/Nutzen-Erwägungen könnte auf zumindest eine der Rollen SR, FR jedoch verzichtet werden. Durch den relativ grossen Abstand der beiden Tragrollen TR erhöht sich die Stabilität des Laufwerks LW2. Ferner ist von jeder Tragrolle TR, TR' nur die Hälfte der Last zu tragen. In Fig. 4b ist eine gleichartige Verschiebeeinrichtung gezeigt, bei der die Tragrollen TR, TR' jedoch konisch geformt sind und auf entsprechend geneigten Laufflächen abrollen. Durch diese Massnahmen wird das Laufwerk LW3 bei der Verschiebung in Laufrichtung automatisch zentriert.
