Definitions
- the invention relates to a pendant lamp with traction drive according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Pendant lights with traction drive enable the adjustment of different heights of their lights by means of a mechanism arranged in the suspension of the traction device.
- this is preferably a spring mechanism in which the drum axis is connected to a spiral spring in such a way that the drum winds up the spring when the traction means is unwound, e.g. a brake acting via a freewheel engages as soon as the tensile force required to pull the spring ceases. This brake could then be released when the pull is pulled again, whereby the traction means is then wound onto the drum by the force of the spring.
- the pendant lamp can also be adjusted so that the weight of the free end of the traction device and the lamp attached to it is sufficient to hold the lamp in a predetermined position, but winds up the traction device when the lamp is raised.
- textile sheathed and therefore relatively thick and soft cable can be used as the traction means.
- the invention is preferably applicable to cables which correspond to the modern standard and have a homogeneous sheath, preferably made of plastic, which better protects the cable against wear, but more or less reduces its flexibility.
- Such traction means are usually also thinner than textile covered cable.
- traction means are also suitable for the invention, which are not used as electrical leads, but rather interact with an electrical lead, which is usually made of a plastic-coated cable, in which the cable surrounds the traction means as a spiral with preformed turns.
- the traction means which can be used for the reeling and unwinding mechanisms designed according to the invention, in particular as described above, have hitherto been the least suitable if they have a comparatively thin but stiff, i.e. represent inflexible, in cross-section essentially cylindrical structure, which applies mainly to the plastic-coated cable described. It then turns out that the mechanics, i.e. especially when pulling the traction device from the drum when lowering the lamp runs increasingly rough and bumpy. As a result, the ease of use of the pendant lamp suffers considerably and the mechanism often fails, which must then be straightened out by untangling the traction mechanism on the drum, which is often impossible for laypersons. Such disadvantages, albeit less frequently, also occur when the lamp is raised while the traction means is being wound onto the drum.
- a slope downforce is generated by the conical shell of the drum from the lacing tension resulting from the winding of the traction device on the drum, which moves the envelopes of the traction device around the drum along the inclination of the drum casing until they touch the already fixed envelope of the traction device come to a standstill.
- This movement of the envelopes following the direction of the downhill force is deliberate and is chosen by coordinating their main influencing variables with one another such that the many envelopes on the drum are all close and evenly against one another.
- adjacent envelopes of the traction device can no longer overlap or even one below the other. This eliminates the rough and bumpy running of the mechanics and foams the traction mechanism. In particular when pulling down the lamp and pulling the traction device from the drum, this increases the ease of use significantly and prevents the failure of the mechanics due to irregular wrapping of the traction device around the drum.
- the invention has the advantage that it can achieve these advantageous effects regardless of the type of traction device and its structure, and in particular can thus use the desired plastic cable as a traction device despite its inflexibility, without the ease of use of the mechanics suffering.
- the invention is also suitable for traction means which are separated from the actual supply cable as described at the beginning.
- the invention is preferably implemented with the features of claim 3 in order to meet the modern standard in such pendant lights.
- the invention also has the result that, because of the conical drum shell, the envelopes around the small drum diameter store shorter traction means lengths than the envelopes around the larger drum diameter. Since superimposed envelopes of the traction means should also be avoided with the conical drum jackets according to the invention in the interest of a smooth rolling mechanism, but on the other hand should keep the size of the drum small, because the drums are otherwise difficult to accommodate in the ceiling mounting of pendant lights, the embodiment according to claim 4 often preferable. This is because the larger drum diameter continued in the cylindrical part of the drum. Its axial length should, however, only be small in order to prevent skipping of traction material envelopes. The features of claim 5 are provided for such embodiments.
- the actual lamp with lamp is not shown in the drawings.
- the power supply to the lamp takes place through the traction means 1 (FIG. 1), which is designed as a relatively inflexible plastic-coated cable.
- a traction mechanism drive generally designated 2
- a housing 4 which is covered with a canopy 5, serves to hold the drive 2 and drum 3.
- the supply line 6 lies within the canopy and is connected with a cable clamp, not shown.
- the housing has in the lower, i.e. from the ceiling 7a area on a closed funnel 7, through the larger opening 8, the feed line 1 is inserted.
- the smaller opening 9, from which the traction device 1 exits, guides the traction device, i.e. it directs the canopy tip onto the drum regardless of the direction of pull, which is indicated in FIG. 4 by an arrow 10.
- the drum 3 has a conical jacket 11 and is designed as a solid molded body according to FIG. 5. 5, the angle of inclination of the drum shell 11 is 30 degrees.
- the traction means guide 9 lies below the last traction means envelope 12 in FIG. 2
- the surface of the plastic cable 11, like the surface of the drum jacket, is smooth and coordinated with the inclination angle of 30 degrees of the drum jacket 11 and the arrangement of the traction means guide 9 in such a way that the envelopes 12 to 17 each lie on the drum bevel 18 with the neighboring envelope, as shown in FIG 2 emerges.
- the drum shell 11 is cylindro-conical, i.e. a cylindrical casing section 19 adjoins the drum bevel 18 (FIG. 1).
- the cylindrical part 19 of the drum shell 11 has only a small axial length and can accommodate at most one traction means envelope which is formed by the envelope 12.
- the drum shell is formed between an annular flange 20, 21 of the drum 3.
- the traction means is guided onto the drum immediately next to the ring flange 20, which is assigned to the jacket end with the smaller diameter, as shown at 22 in FIG. 5.
- the upper end of the traction means 23 of the drum is wound around the inner cylinder 25 of the drum 3 with several envelopes, as shown at 24 in FIG.
- This inner cylinder surrounds the drum axis 26 ', around which the drum can rotate freely, as a sleeve.
- the traction means ends at 23 on sliding contacts 26, 27, which in turn run on a stationary contact disk 28.
- the sliding contacts 26 and 27 and the contact disc 28 are in a socket 29 for which the cylindrical and the subsequent conical part of the drum 3 are recessed at 30.
- the cylindrical section of the bushing 29 which is led out of the drum 3 is designated 31 in FIG. 3 and represents the work coil for a spiral spring (roller spring) which can roll up and down on the coil 31.
- a supply spool 32 is provided for this purpose.
- a diameter-enlarged section 33 of the coil contains the parts of a freewheel that can be seen in FIG. 5.
- a rolling brake can be set for determining the pulling force of the traction device. If the traction means is pulled out in the direction of arrow 10, the spring winds up on the work spool 31 and from the supply spool 32. As soon as the envelopes 12 to 17 have been unwound from the drum, the drum comes to a standstill when the cable bushing 22 is reached. The brake housed in section 33 outside the freewheel then engages and holds the drum against the spring tension. When the lamp is raised, the drum pulls the traction device 10 through the guide 9 upwards, resulting in envelopes 12 to 17 around the drum jacket, of which the drum jacket envelope 17 contains the smallest and the drum envelope 12 contains the largest traction device length. The winding takes place in the representation of the figures from right to left.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a pendant lamp with traction drive according to the preamble of claim 1.
Pendant lights with traction drive enable the adjustment of different heights of their lights by means of a mechanism arranged in the suspension of the traction device. According to the invention, this is preferably a spring mechanism in which the drum axis is connected to a spiral spring in such a way that the drum winds up the spring when the traction means is unwound, e.g. a brake acting via a freewheel engages as soon as the tensile force required to pull the spring ceases. This brake could then be released when the pull is pulled again, whereby the traction means is then wound onto the drum by the force of the spring. The pendant lamp can also be adjusted so that the weight of the free end of the traction device and the lamp attached to it is sufficient to hold the lamp in a predetermined position, but winds up the traction device when the lamp is raised.
According to the invention, textile sheathed and therefore relatively thick and soft cable can be used as the traction means. However, the invention is preferably applicable to cables which correspond to the modern standard and have a homogeneous sheath, preferably made of plastic, which better protects the cable against wear, but more or less reduces its flexibility. Such traction means are usually also thinner than textile covered cable. In the end, traction means are also suitable for the invention, which are not used as electrical leads, but rather interact with an electrical lead, which is usually made of a plastic-coated cable, in which the cable surrounds the traction means as a spiral with preformed turns.
In practice, it has been shown that the traction means which can be used for the reeling and unwinding mechanisms designed according to the invention, in particular as described above, have hitherto been the least suitable if they have a comparatively thin but stiff, i.e. represent inflexible, in cross-section essentially cylindrical structure, which applies mainly to the plastic-coated cable described.
In contrast, the invention takes a different path, the basic idea of which is given in claim 1. Further features of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
According to the invention, a slope downforce is generated by the conical shell of the drum from the lacing tension resulting from the winding of the traction device on the drum, which moves the envelopes of the traction device around the drum along the inclination of the drum casing until they touch the already fixed envelope of the traction device come to a standstill. This movement of the envelopes following the direction of the downhill force is deliberate and is chosen by coordinating their main influencing variables with one another such that the many envelopes on the drum are all close and evenly against one another. The result of this is that adjacent envelopes of the traction device can no longer overlap or even one below the other. This eliminates the rough and bumpy running of the mechanics and foams the traction mechanism. In particular when pulling down the lamp and pulling the traction device from the drum, this increases the ease of use significantly and prevents the failure of the mechanics due to irregular wrapping of the traction device around the drum.
The invention has the advantage that it can achieve these advantageous effects regardless of the type of traction device and its structure, and in particular can thus use the desired plastic cable as a traction device despite its inflexibility, without the ease of use of the mechanics suffering.
While in the conventional textile-coated traction means the described movement of the envelopes of the traction means on the drum generally takes place in that the cable rotates around itself and rolls on the drum shell this is not the case with the use of the plastic cable preferred by the invention because of its inflexibility. Nevertheless, the advantages of the invention can also be realized with such traction means, which is the subject of
In this embodiment, the invention is also suitable for traction means which are separated from the actual supply cable as described at the beginning. However, the invention is preferably implemented with the features of
The invention also has the result that, because of the conical drum shell, the envelopes around the small drum diameter store shorter traction means lengths than the envelopes around the larger drum diameter. Since superimposed envelopes of the traction means should also be avoided with the conical drum jackets according to the invention in the interest of a smooth rolling mechanism, but on the other hand should keep the size of the drum small, because the drums are otherwise difficult to accommodate in the ceiling mounting of pendant lights, the embodiment according to
If the full axial length of the drum shell is to be used for winding up the traction means, which is expedient from the above-mentioned points of view, a resistance must be created for the first turn of the traction means on the drum, which prevents the envelope from rolling off or slipping off the drum . The actual lamp with lamp is not shown in the drawings. The power supply to the lamp takes place through the traction means 1 (FIG. 1), which is designed as a relatively inflexible plastic-coated cable. A traction mechanism drive, generally designated 2, is provided for the traction device and is partially housed inside a
The
In the embodiment according to Fig. 3, the
Otherwise, the drum shell is formed between an

For this purpose, the upper end of the traction means 23 of the drum is wound around the
The cylindrical section of the
With the help of a
