Definitions
- the invention relates to an internal combustion engine, in particular a boxer engine, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- crankcase for an internal combustion engine is known in which one half of the bearing bracket is part of the housing and the other half of the bearing bracket is fixed by means of fastening screws.
- the housing halves are connected to one another via continuous cylinder head screws.
- a crankcase is known from US-PS 29 69 781, which is connected to the bearing bracket via common screws.
- the object of the invention is to provide an internal combustion engine, in particular a boxer engine, which has a simple assembly structure, enables construction to be carried out with different materials and ensures optimum oil supply to both crankshaft bearings.
- the bearing bridge can consist of a different material than the cylinder crankcase and an assembly takes place detached from the crankcase. This is made possible by fixing the bearing bracket in the crankcase using cylinder head screws arranged separately from the bearing bracket screws.
- Cooling channels are also integrated in the housing. Furthermore, the two housing halves have walls to form an oil space, in which an oil trap device with through openings to the oil pan are arranged on the housing halves.
- Oil channels are embedded in the connecting surfaces of the cylinder crankcase facing the bearing bridge, which are covered by the flat connecting surface of the bearing bridge.
- the oil circuit runs through the oil channels in the cylinder crankcase, through transverse bores and oblique bores in the bearing bridge to the bearing points of the crankshaft.
- a few holes in the cylinder head screws supply oil to the cylinder head, which has corresponding inclined channels.
- the parting plane of the cylinder crankcase is in the same parting plane as the bearing bridge and runs through the center of the crankshaft bearing. This results in a symmetrical crankcase with the respective cylinder heads.
- An internal combustion engine in particular a boxer engine, essentially comprises a crankcase 1 in which a bearing bracket 2 is held.
- the respective cylinder heads 3 and 4 are connected to the crankcase 1.
- the crankcase is made, for example, of an aluminum material and the bearing bridge is made of cast iron, for example.
- the cylinder crankcase 1 consists of housing halves 5 and 6, which have a parting plane a-a, which corresponds to the parting plane b-b of the bearing bracket 2.
- the two halves 2a, 2b of the bearing bracket 2 are connected to one another via bearing chair screws 7, 8 arranged in the same direction.
- Each housing half 5, 6 of the crankcase 1 is over cylinder head screws 9, 10; 9a, 10a braced with the bearing bracket 2, the screws 9, 10 and 9a, 10a each also fixing the cylinder head 3, 4 to the housing 1.
- the cylinder head screws 9, 10 are arranged in the opposite direction to the further cylinder head screws 9a, 10a and each end is based in a receiving bore of the bearing bracket 2.
- Oil channels 15, 16 and 17 are embedded in the contact surface 11 and 12 of each crankcase half 6 and 5, which face the flat surfaces 13 and 14 of the bearing bridge halves 2a and 2b. These are covered by the opposite flat contact surfaces 13 and 14, so that each result in closed oil channels.
- the oil channels 15 and 16 are mutually connected via a first housing-side channel 18 and the oil channel 15 of the one housing half 6 is connected to the oil channel 17 of the further housing half 5 at least two transverse channels 19 and 20 connected in the bearing bridge 2. From these channels 19, 20 and from channel 17, inclined channels 21 branch off in the bearing bridge 2, which lead to the bearing locations 22 of the crankshaft.
- the inlet opening 22 of the oblique channels 21 are shown in more detail in FIG. 5.
- the inclined channels 21 can preferably have the same oil inlet opening 19a with the two transverse channels 14, 20.
- the inlet openings of the channels 19 and 21 or 20 and 21 are advantageously separated.
- the oil channel 16 has an inflow at 23, which is connected to an oil pump 24.
- the oil flows through the housing-side channel 18 to the oil channel 15 via an interposed oil filter 25 in the channel 16. Before entering this channel 15, the oil flows through an oil / water heat exchanger 26.
- the cylinder head screws 9, 10 and 9a, 10a are arranged in bores 30 of the housing 1 and the heads 4 and 5, which simultaneously form oil passages. For this purpose, they have a larger diameter than the screws. Connection channels 31 branch off from these bores into the oil channel 15. Also in the second housing half 6 connecting channels 32 are provided from the bores of the bolts 9, 10 in the oil channel 17. As a result, the oil can flow from the oil channels 15 and 17 to each head side 4, 5 through the bores of the cylinder head screws 9, 9a and 10, 10a, for which purpose an inclined channel 33 branches off from the bores.
- the oil channels 15, 16 and 17 extend almost over the entire length of the crankcase 1, with the oil channels 15, 16 and on the housing half 6 in the housing halves 5 on both long sides
- the oil channel 17 is arranged only on one long side.
- Each half 5, 6 of the cylinder crankcase 1 has at least opposite, cast-on cooling channels 35, 36.
- a starter receptacle 37 is provided between the cooling channels 35 on one side of the housing and is assigned to the housing half 6 and ends with the parting plane a-a.
- two funnel-shaped walls 38, 39 of an oil trap are integrally cast into the housing halves 5, 6 symmetrically to the parting plane a-a.
- An intermediate shaft 40 is mounted within this device.
- This device is arranged between walls 41, 42, which branch off from cooling channels 36.
- the space formed by the walls 41, 42 is closed off by a cover 43 and forms an oil pan.
- Oil passage openings 44 are provided in the walls 41, 42.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt gemäß Fig. 1 im Bereich der Zylinderbohrungen,
