Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a personal object to be worn by an individual, in particular a watch, a medallion or a bracelet, comprising indicator means representative of the individual's personal medical data.
  • FR-A-1 513 675 which forms the basis of the preamble of the independent claim, provide for recording medical indications and the identity of an individual on a wristwatch, for example example on its bottom or on plates attached to the watch or bracelet.
  • the document FR-A-1 272 870 provides a medallion or a watch having a housing provided with a cover, where one can place a document bearing the useful indications in the event of an accident. There is also a visible distinctive sign, indicating that the object contains these indications. Such an object also has the drawbacks mentioned above.
  • the present invention therefore aims to provide an object as defined in the preamble, capable of being worn in all circumstances of life and arranged so that the desired indications are found and identified clearly and easily by the personnel of the organizations of assistance, while remaining confidential.
  • these indications can be modified easily and inexpensively.
  • a particular purpose is to provide these indications by means of a watch of current construction and space-saving, in particular a wristwatch.
  • indicator means comprising an indication surface, provided with a series of fields on which are represented graphically respective medical data.
  • indicator plate at least partially covering the indication surface and on which the identity of the individual is inscribed, said identification plate comprising, above said fields, removable segments each of which conceals one of the fields, in an initial state where the segment is attached to the plate, and lets see this field when the segment is removed from the plate.
  • the indication surface and the identification plate are on an inner or lower surface of the object, said surface being invisible when the object is carried by the individual, and visual warning means are arranged on an upper face of the object, this face being visible when the object is carried.
  • the visual warning means preferably comprise a conventional symbol representative of the health or first aid services, placed in a fixed position and permanently visible.
  • the visual warning means comprise a display device provided with control means and at least one window for selectively displaying at least one warning sign concerning said medical data.
  • This display device makes it possible to give, on the visible face of the object, a clearly visible sign which shows the emergency personnel that they must consult personal medical data indicated on a hidden face of the object.
  • the display device is a mechanical device, that is to say that it can operate under any circumstances and in particular that it is not dependent on the state of the battery supplying a movement of electronic watch, for example.
  • the display device may comprise a dial, a first rotating disc placed behind the dial and associated with the control means, a first and a second window in the dial, and at least two different warning signs, arranged on the first disc to selectively appear in windows.
  • the first disc has at least four stable positions, and the arrangement of the two warning signs on the first disc is such that they appear in said windows for said stable positions.
  • the display device may further include another window for displaying the individual's blood group.
  • the display device may include a second rotating disc placed behind the dial, associated with the control means and carrying, in correspondence with said other window, a circular row of symbols of the various human blood groups.
  • the disc or each disc is integral with a star, the teeth of which cooperate with a jumper spring to define stable positions of the disc, and the control means comprise a push mechanism acting on the teeth of the star.
  • the indication surface and the identification plate can be arranged in a recess formed in a lower face of the object, the plate and the recess having, on their periphery, complementary shapes which define a unique nesting position. of the insert in the recess.
  • the indication surface is on a ring placed at the bottom of the recess, near the periphery thereof, and the removable segments are pre-cut parts distributed along the periphery of the identification plate. and arranged to be broken individually.
  • the visual warning means can advantageously be combined with the watch face.
  • the window or each window can be arranged in the watch face.
  • the display device can be placed inside a watch case, between the dial and the watch movement.
  • the object may include a cover covering the identification plate and opening manually. This makes it possible to guarantee that the confidential medical data indicated by means of this plate will not be visible from the outside if the object turns over accidentally, for example in the case of a medallion.
  • the personal object according to the invention is a wristwatch 1 comprising a usual watch box 2 equipped with a strap 3.
  • the box 2 can be that of a watch with a usual calendar intended to display the dates and the days of the week in windows of dial 4 of the watch, but in the present case, this mechanism is modified to display other messages, as will be described below .
  • FIG. 2 on the back of the wristwatch 1, personal medical data of the wearer of the watch is indicated by means of an identification plate 5 covering at least partially an indication surface 6, and possibly by means of additional plates 7 to 10 fixed to the back of the bracelet 3.
  • the wristwatch is worn by the owner, the medical data are hidden from the view of other people.
  • the dial 4 carries a conventional symbol such as a red cross 14 or another well-known symbol representative of a health or first aid service. The purpose of this symbol is to draw the attention of service personnel and to indicate that the watch is of a special type, capable of providing medical data.
  • the display device provided in place of the calendar comprises a first window 16 and a second window 17 in the dial 4, a first rotating disc 18 (FIG.
  • the display device further comprises a third window 22 behind which is a second rotating disc 23 (FIG. 8) carrying a complete series of conventional symbols 24 of the blood group and rhesus factor, allowing the display of the watch wearer's blood group.
  • the second disc 23 is also provided with a control mechanism which is actuated step by step by means of a pusher 25.
  • the two plungers 21 and 25 may be the conventional day and day correction pushers.
  • the disc control mechanism which will be described later with reference to FIGS. 9 and 10, guarantees that the selected position of each disc is permanently stable, so that the wearer of the watch should only act on the pusher 21 when his state of health changes.
  • the first disc 18 has twice the warning sign 19 RISK, intended to show that a medical risk is indicated on the back of the watch, and twice the warning sign 20 MEDI, intended to show that the wearer of the watch must take medication regularly.
  • Each of the signs 19, 20 is on a respective colored area 26, 27 (for example red to draw attention) of an annular background band 28 having a neutral color, for example the same color as the dial 4.
  • Two signs 19 and 20, located respectively on the left and bottom in FIG. 7, are offset by an angle of 90 ° which corresponds to the angular offset between the two windows 16 and 17, so that the two signs can appear at the same time in these windows.
  • the other two signs 19 and 20 are offset from the previous signs by an angle different from 45 °, and by an angle different from 90 ° between them, so that they can appear separately in the corresponding window 16, 17 while the other window remains empty.
  • This device therefore makes it possible to display in the windows 16, 17 either one of the two signs 19, 20, or the other, or both, or none of them, depending on the state of health of the wearer.
  • Figures 9 and 10 schematically show the control mechanism of the discs 18 and 23.
  • this mechanism is that of a watch with display of the days and the dates when the driving of this display by the clockwork movement was deleted.
  • the first disc 18, which corresponds to the date disc of a calendar watch has an annular shape and comprises, along its inner edge, a star 29 to thirty and a tooth which cooperates with a jumper spring 30 which defines and maintains each position of the disc.
  • the second disc 23, which corresponds to the day disc of a calendar watch is integral with a star 32 with fourteen teeth, cooperating with a jumper spring 33 which defines and maintains each position of this disc.
  • the pusher 21 is part of a pivoting part 34 held in abutment against a pivot 35 by an arm 36 of a spring element 37 fixed by means of a screw 38.
  • the part 34 has a thrust arm 39 which, when 'is pressed on the pusher 21, engages on one of the teeth of the star 29 and, advancing to position 39' drawn in broken lines, rotates the disc 18 by one.
  • a pivoting part 40 held in abutment against a pivot 41 by a second arm 42 of the spring 37.
  • This part 40 has a bent end 43 which pushes the teeth 32 to its position 43 'shown in broken lines.
  • the box 2 of watch 1 contains, below the display device provided with the disks 18 and 23, a conventional clockwork movement 45 driving the hands 11 and 12.
  • the underside of the box is closed by a bottom 46 which, in the present case, has the particular shape illustrated by FIGS. 2 and 4.
  • a recess 47 is hollowed out on the underside of the bottom 46 to receive a circular ring 48 and the identification plate 5.
  • These two elements are covered by a glass 50 carried by a bezel 51 fixed to the bottom 46.
  • the ring 48 shown in detail in FIG. 6, carries the indication surface 6 and has two opposite protrusions 52 and 53 of different shape or size, fitting into respective lateral recesses such as 55 (FIG. 4) of the bottom 46 so that only one position of the ring 48 is possible.
  • the indication surface 6 comprises ten equal angular fields 61 to 70 in which the medical indications according to Table I are written in symbolic or coded form, preferably standardized.
  • the identification plate 5 is a circular plate, of the same external diameter as the ring 48.
  • the plate 5 also has two different lateral protrusions 56 and 57, identical to the protrusions 52 and 53 and accommodating in the same recesses to position it.
  • notches 72 delimit ten identical segments 73 which are identified by respective numbers from 1 to 10 and which respectively cover the fields 61 to 70 of the indication surface 6.
  • Each of the segments 73 is attached to the rest of the plate 5 by a pre-stamped line 74 which can be broken by folding to detach the segment from the plate in order to reveal the corresponding field.
  • segment # 1 has been removed to reveal the DIAB indication in field 61 ( Figure 6), to indicate that the wearer of the watch is diabetic.
  • the additional plates 7 to 10 shown in FIG. 2 can give certain details relating to the risks indicated by means of the indication surface 6, for example indicating the types of allergies concerned.
  • these packs are generally intended for other useful medical indications, such as vaccinations, acceptance of organ donation, a disability such as deafness, blindness or mutism, or a state of pregnancy.
  • Another useful indication is that of the name of a medication that the wearer must take permanently or regularly, this fact being indicated by the MEDI warning sign on the front of the watch.
  • the identification plate 5 is a very simple and inexpensive piece, offering a standardized representation, easily recognizable in most languages, of the main risks to be aware of in a first aid case.
  • This plaque is personalized simply by writing the identity of the wearer and, if necessary, by breaking one or more of the segments 1 to 10 according to a questionnaire preferably completed by the wearer's doctor.
  • FIG. 11 schematically shows that a personal object according to the invention can be produced in the form of a medallion 81 suspended from a collar 82 and having, on its front face, the same signs and information as the watch described above, with the exception of the time display: the symbol 14 of the red cross or a similar body, and the windows 16, 17 and 22 of the mechanical display device housed inside the medallion.
  • the rear face of the medallion can be identical to that of the watch, according to FIG. 2. Instead of being covered with a glass, it can be hidden by a pivoting cover 83 similar to that of a watch of the soap type.
  • FIG. 12 shows another embodiment of the invention, in the form of a bracelet 84, the outer surface of which is provided with a plate bearing one or more warning signs 86 such as the red cross or the RISK message. , to indicate the presence of medical data on the hidden side of the bracelet. This data can be provided in the same way as in the wristwatch described above.
