For industries consuming large quantities of gas, the latter is generally brought into the gas phase at high pressure by a compressor, the gas being produced in situ by a gas production unit, generally by cryogenic separation. For lower gas consumption, the latter is generally stored in liquid form at low pressure, vaporized and pressurized.
