Definitions
- the present invention relates to lifters for physically handicapped persons, comprising at least one height-adjustable lifting arm with at least one suspension point for one end of a traction element which can be placed under the armpits of the persons to be lifted or transported. It also relates to lifters for physically handicapped persons, such as wheelchair users in particular, comprising a stand which can preferably be rolled or displaced over a floor surface, at least one upright extending from the stand, at least one lifting arm extending laterally from the support and pivotable about a substantially horizontal axis and at least one suspension point arranged at the end of the lifting arm for ends of a pulling element, the pulling element being able to be placed around people to be lifted or transported.
- the tension element is an elastic hose or sections of such which can be filled with a fluid.
- the hose or its sections can have a diameter in the range between 5 cm and 20 cm.
- gases such as air in particular can be used as the fluid, but also a wide variety of liquids such as water in particular.
- gaseous fluids have the advantage of being light in weight.
- a tube with the specified dimensions can easily be stored under the armpits of people.
- the tension elements are guided under both armpits as well as around the back or around the chest. Due to the elasticity of the fluid-filled hose, its shape adapts ideally to the body shape of the person. The contact surface is thus large and the surface load is largely even and small.
- the tube consists of fiber material such as polyamide, which is coated with an elastomer in a sealing manner.
- fiber material such as polyamide
- Such hoses are also known as fire hoses.
- the fiber material is sealed by an inside and / or outside coating.
- This visit can consist of a rubber-like material, which is applied in particular by vulcanization.
- the inner coating has the advantage that the coating is pressed against the tube wall made of fiber material by the internal pressure of the fluid.
- the outer coating has the Advantage that it also forms a smooth washable outer cover.
- the hose is tightly clamped at its ends between two strips. Particularly when the hose is coated with an elastomer from the inside, the hose ends are sealed well even with low clamping forces.
- the strips can be connected to one another, for example, by riveting or screwing.
- the ends of the hose are welded or in love. This variant is particularly advantageous if the hose has no inner elastomer coating.
- the ends of the hose are preferably pressed together by folds.
- the folds not only hold the hose together at the end, they also protect the edges against mechanical damage.
- the flat ends of the hose preferably have rounded edges.
- the folds preferably have C-shaped profiles which are curved around the rounded end edges of the hose and adapted to their shape. This avoids corners and edges at the end of the hose and the associated risk of injury. The folds protect the ends from wear.
- tabs are provided at the ends of the hose. These tabs are preferably crimped to the flattened ends of the hose. The tabs are preferably arranged between sealing surfaces and end edges, the surface between the terminal strips or the welded or in love surface being understood as the sealing surface.
- a further tension element such as a belt or strap, which can be changed in length, is preferably arranged between at least one tab and a suspension point.
- the use of flanges for the production of the tabs has the advantages that the edge of the tab is protected from damage and the opening of the tab is rounded, so that the further tension element is only exposed to a slight abrasion.
- the arrangement of the tabs outside the sealing surfaces has the advantage that the tabs themselves do not need to be fluid-tight.
- Lifts of the type described at the outset are in particular intended to lift physically handicapped people, such as wheelchair users, from a seated position and to move them, and then to put them back on another seat, for example that of a toilet facility.
- the traction element is tightened and the person is lifted by pivoting the lifting arm or the lifting arms about an essentially horizontal axis. It is disadvantageous that the position of the lifting arm at which the person begins to lift depends on how tall the person is and how high the seat is above the floor. As a result, the direction of pull is different. This can lead to the fact that tall people in particular are lifted less than their upper body is pulled forward.
- a further object of the present invention is therefore to design a lifter in such a way that the tensile forces acting on a seated person act in a desired direction, in particular steeply upwards, which can be adjusted independently of the size of the person or their seat height.
- it should in particular not be necessary to have to change the length of the tension element.
- the position of the knee bracket attached to the support should be unchangeable.
- the pulling element should be able to be detachably attached to the suspension point in a simple but secure manner, so that the risk of accidents due to automatic release of the suspension is low.
- the object is achieved in that the position of the horizontal axis is adjustable in height.
- the lifting arm is not only rotatable about a horizontal axis, but also vertically adjustable.
- the height of the support is adjustable.
- An alternative possibility would be to make the connection of the lifting arm and the support adjustable in height, which would, however, require more effort. If the length of the support is variable, this has the additional advantage that the height of the lift can be reduced overall.
- the support consists of a longitudinal profile, such as a square tube, around which a second longitudinal profile, such as a square tube, is arranged, the second longitudinal profile being displaceable relative to the first longitudinal profile.
- the displacement can be actuated via an electric motor or via a hand crank.
- other drives are also possible, for example via lifting cylinders.
- a knee holder is attached to a height-adjustable part of the support for supporting the knees of persons to be lifted from a sitting position.
- This knee bracket is preferably attached to the outer second longitudinal profile.
- the position of the knee bracket is changed at the same time as the height of the support is adjusted.
- the support is raised to lift a tall person.
- the knee bracket is also in a high position that matches the length of the lower legs of a tall person.
- a seated person is lifted as follows: The lifter is placed in front of the person with the support retracted and the lifting arm lowered. The person places his feet on preferably slightly inclined foot surfaces attached to the stand and puts the traction element around his body. The length of the support is increased until the tension element is tight around the body. The traction element is tightened by swiveling the lifting arms up further. The person is lifted up by swiveling the lifting arms up further. Now either the seat can be replaced or the lifter and the person can be transported to another location. Finally, the person is lowered back to a seat by lowering the lifting arm and possibly shortening the support, the pulling element is released from the suspension point and the lifter is removed.
- a suspension link is directly or indirectly connected to at least one end of the tension element, the suspension link having a recess which can be suspended via a nipple or hook attached to the suspension point.
- the recess can be closed at the circumference or open, so that the hanging member forms either a type of tab or a type of hook.
- the suspension member is indirectly connected to the end of the tension element, in particular when it is connected via a further tension element such as a band or a belt, the length of which can preferably be changed.
- the recess is an elongated hole with an extension for the passage of a nipple head, the elongated hole having a hole end located near and distant from the pulling element and the extension being arranged at a distance from the more distant hole end so that the nipple rests against the more distant hole end when the pulling element is subjected to tensile stress and the nipple head can only be moved against the tensile stress along the elongated hole towards the nearer end of the hole.
- the size of the nipple head is so large that it fits through the extension, but not through the actual elongated hole.
- the elongated hole has an angle with two legs, the extension being arranged in the leg that is closer to the tension element, and the attachment member can be attached via the nipple in such a way that the other leg is perpendicular or oblique to the distal end of the hole is oriented upwards, regardless of whether the tensile stress of the tension element is directed vertically downwards or horizontally from the suspension point towards the person.
- a lifter (10) for lifting or transporting a physically disabled person (12) is e.g. B. on a ceiling (14) on a rail (16) by means of a rolling device (18) horizontally adjustable.
- the rolling device (18) is connected to a lifting arm (24) via a rope (20) and a winch (22).
- the winch (22) winds up the rope (20) and thus shortens the distance between the lifting arm (24) and the ceiling (14).
- the winch is driven by a motor, not shown.
- Suspension points (26), (28) for ends (30), (32) of a hose (34) as a tension element are arranged on the lifting arm (24).
- the tube (34) is passed under the arms (36), (38) in the vicinity of the armpits (40), (42) of the person (12) to be lifted.
- the tube (34) can be guided either around the chest or around the back of the person (12).
- the hose (34) is filled with a fluid such as air or water.
- the surface of the hose is deformable, so that it lies on the body of the person over a large area.
- the hose (34) is pressed in, in particular at places where external forces act on the hose surface, for example below the armpits (40), (42).
- the tube (34) preferably has a diameter between 5 cm and 20 cm, so that it still fits comfortably under the armpits (40, 42) on the one hand and on the other hand has a large contact area with the body of the person (12).
- the hose (34) is tight for the fluid. It is also elastically deformable. As a result of the pressure between hose (34) and person (12), the pressure of the fluid enclosed in hose (34) is increased. The hose (34) thus becomes somewhat stiffer when a person (12) is attached to it.
- the hose (34) is clamped flat and sealing between two strips (44).
- the strips are firmly connected to one another via connecting elements (46) such as screws or rivets.
- the hose (34) can also be welded or glued at the ends (30), (32).
- the ends (30), (32) of the hose (34) are pressed together by folds (50), (52) and are convexly curved so that there are no sharp edges.
- the folds (50), (52) preferably have a C-shaped profile.
- Tabs (54), (56) are arranged at the ends (30), (32).
- the tabs (54), (56) are preferably rounded and their edges are bordered by flanges (58), (60).
- Length-adjustable belts (62), (64) are preferably guided through the tabs (54), (56).
- the tabs (54), (56) are arranged between a sealing surface between the strips (44) and an end edge between the folds (50), (52). A device for adjusting the length of the straps (62), (64) is not shown.
- the straps (62), (64) are attached to suspension links (66), (68).
- the suspension members (66), (68) are attached to nipples (26), (28) that form the suspension points.
- a link (68) is shown.
- the belt (64) is guided through a slot (70).
- the hanging member (68), which is plate-shaped, has a recess in the form of a long hole (72) in its large area.
- the elongated hole (72) has an extension (74). Through this extension (74) a nipple (69) can be inserted, which is connected to the lifting arm (24).
- the nipple head (69) is so large that it fits through the extension (74), but not through the actual elongated hole (72).
- the elongated hole (72) has an end in the form of the extension (74), which is arranged close to the belt (64). Another end (76) of the elongated hole (72) is arranged further away from the belt (64).
- the elongated hole (72) is angularly shaped with two legs (78), (80), one leg (78) being directed in the direction of the belt (64) and the other leg (80) away from the belt (64).
- the extension (74) is arranged at the end of the leg (78).
- the direction of the tensile stress (82) points downwards, obliquely downwards or horizontally to the left. Accordingly, the link (68) is pivoted along the arrows (84), (86). Regardless of the direction in which the tensile stress (82) acts, the leg (80) of the elongated hole (72) is directed upwards towards the end (76). Consequently the dead weight of the suspension link (68) always prevents the nipple (69) from moving automatically away from the end (76) and towards the extension (74). The suspension link (68) can therefore only be suspended from the nipple (69) by lifting it up.
- Fig. 2 shows a further embodiment of a lifter (10) for lifting a seated person (12).
- the lifter (10) has a stand (100) which can be rolled over the floor (106) via rollers (102), (104).
- a footrest surface (108) is attached to the stand (100).
- An upstanding support (110) is connected to the stand.
- the height of the support (110) can be changed along the double arrow (112).
- the support (110) consists of an inner longitudinal profile (114) and an outer profile (116) encompassing this.
- the profiles (114), (116) can be angular or round hollow profiles.
- the outer profile (116) can be moved along the inner profile (114).
- a motor-gear device (118) effects the movement along the arrow (112).
- a lifting arm (120) is arranged at the top of the support (110).
- the lifting arm (120) is pivotable about a horizontal axis (122).
- the lifting arm (120) can also be a double arm.
- the lifting arm (120) is pivoted along the double arrow (124). This movement takes place by means of a further motor-gear device (126), in which a battery can also be arranged.
- the running of the motors (118), (126) is controlled via a manual control (128) which can be operated by the person (12) himself.
- a knee bracket (130) is attached to the height-adjustable longitudinal profile (116).
- the suspension point (132) which can be a nipple, is arranged.
- one end (134) of a hose (34) can be fastened by means of a suspension link (not shown) and a belt.
- the length of the connecting belt is preferably adjustable.
- the hose (34) is guided under the arms and around the back of the person (12) in order to be able to lift them from the seat (136).
- the other end of the hose (34) is not shown. This can be connected to a further, invisible suspension point on the lifting arm (120). This further suspension point is arranged further to the left as seen by the person (12).
- the person (12) is lifted as follows: The lifter (10) is first positioned in relation to the person (12) so that the person can place their feet on the foot surface (108) and that their knees rest against the knee support (130). At when the support (116) is lowered and the lifting arm (120) is lowered, the hose (34) is placed around the person (12) and attached to the suspension point (132). The support (116) is then extended until the hose is taut. The lifting arm (120) is pivoted downwards. The length of the hose (34) should be such that the hose (34) can be loosely guided around the body of the person (12) and attached to the suspension points, but that only a small stroke movement is required to hold the hose (34 ) to tighten.
- the length of the hose (34) does not meet the requirements, the length of the belt between the hose end (134) and the suspension point (132) can be extended.
- the laborious adjustment of the hose length can also be dispensed with if people (12) of different sizes have to be lifted from seats (136) of different seat heights.
- the lifting arm (120) When the hose (34) is tight, the lifting arm (120) is swung up and / or the support (110) is extended further to lift the person (12) off the seat (136). The person (12) is released in the reverse order of the operations.
- Either a special seat for example a mobile toilet chair, can be slid under the raised person (12), or the raised person can be transported to another seat by moving the lift.

Abstract
Description

- Fig. 2
