Definitions
- the invention relates to mineral low-sulfur diesel fuels with a start of boiling above 160 ° C and a boiling end below 420 ° C, which contain a vegetable oil as a lubricity improver.
- phosphate- or metal-containing compounds are possible as wear protection additives, which in turn lead to loads in the exhaust gas and damage possible catalysts.
- castor oil can improve the lubricity of alcohols as a diesel substitute fuel (Pitkanen et al., VTT Symp. 1986, 69, 26-39; Hardenberg, SAE Int. Fuels Lubr. Meet. 1987, Pap. 872093) and that can be used as an oil component in engine lubricating oils together with molybdenum compounds (JP 62,215,697, CA 107,239647f).
- the present invention had for its object to provide mineral low-sulfur diesel fuels that have sufficient lubricity, so that there is no major wear in the engine or the distributor injection pump system, and which do not lead to a load on the exhaust gas by non-combustible compounds .
- vegetable oils in particular castor oil, are suitable as lubricity improvers for mineral low-sulfur diesel fuels.
- the invention therefore relates to mineral low-sulfur diesel fuels with a boiling point above 160 ° C and a boiling point below 420 ° C and a sulfur content of 0 to 500 mg / kg of fuel, which are characterized in that they contain a vegetable oil.
- the dosage level of the vegetable oils required to achieve the desired lubricity-improving effect is preferably between 0.01 and 2.9%, in particular between 0.05 and 1.5%.
- Vegetable oils which consist essentially of esters of glycerol and certain fatty acids, are non-drying oils such as castor oil and peanut oil, semi-drying oils such as rapeseed oil, corn oil and soybean oil, and drying oils such as sunflower oil and linseed oil. Rapeseed oil, sunflower oil and in particular castor oil are preferably used.
- Mineral low-sulfur diesel fuels are preferred which have a boiling end of below 350 ° C., very preferably of less than 300 ° C.
- the mineral diesel fuels usually contain no or only small amounts, i.e. up to 20% by weight, preferably up to 8% by weight, in particular up to 0.8% alcohol based on the total amount of fuel.
- Diesel fuels containing less than 50 mg alcohol / kg fuel are particularly preferred. They are characterized in that they have a low sulfur content of 0 to 500 mg / kg of fuel, preferably only from 0 to 300 mg / kg, in particular from 0 to 100 mg S / kg of fuel.
- Mineral diesel fuels with a sulfur content of 0 to 500 mg / kg of fuel are produced in the refineries in a manner known per se by appropriate production methods.
- the commercially available diesel fuels have an S content of around 800 to 2,000 mg / kg fuel, with the maximum approved S content varying from country to country. If the diesel fuels according to the invention have a boiling end of below 300 ° C., they are also referred to as “city diesel”.
- the volumetric wear of two steel sliding partners (stationary ball 1, oscillating plate 2), which are surrounded by diesel fuel during the test run, is measured with the aid of an oscillating / friction-wear apparatus (FIG. 2).
- the total wear coefficient k (in mm3 / Nm) is calculated from the volumetric wear amounts. The better the lubricity of the diesel fuel between the ball and the plate, the smaller it is.

Abstract
