Definitions

  • the invention relates to an arrangement for binding an object according to the preamble of claim 1, in particular a cable harness, consisting of a band, which comprises a band tongue and a lock firmly connected thereto, which has a band opening for receiving and holding the free end of the band tongue and at least has a laterally projecting area, and a tool.
  • the tool comprises a loop guide, at least part of which is movable for opening and closing the loop guide.
  • a lock holder is provided adjacent to the area enclosed by the loop guide and free for receiving the object to be bound.
  • This is at least partially from formed a part which is removable to release the removal of the lock from the lock holder after the binding process, but during the binding process it grips in front of the laterally projecting area of the lock, as is known, for example, from EP-A-0428116.
  • a laterally projecting area of the lock can be used to hold the lock, because parts of the lock holder can reach in front of this area with respect to the removal direction and thus fix it in the removal direction.
  • the lateral direction is therefore to be understood in this context as the direction transverse to the removal direction of the lock.
  • the removal direction corresponds to the direction of the removal movement leading the bound object out of the loop guide.
  • a laterally projecting area is characterized by at least one surface which has a component which runs transversely to the removal direction and which looks in the removal direction.
  • a projecting area is not only useful with regard to the purpose of the holder, but can also be a hindrance when removing the lock, as long as a holder part engages in front of it.
  • Such a mounting part must therefore be removable after the binding process for removing the lock.
  • not only those laterally projecting areas of the lock are to be considered, which are originally present on it, but also those that only arise through the binding process, such as, for example, an end of the tongue protruding beyond the strap opening of the lock.
  • the drive and the control of movable mounting parts is complex, especially considering the limited space in the mounting area. In the known version EP-A-0428116 this is solved in that the movable part of the lock holder with a removable Part of the loop guide is connected.
  • the removable part of the lock holder is also in front of the lock in relation to the removal direction after its removal, so that, in particular in the case of objects to be bound, the scope of which is close to the larger yet bindable scope, lengthy removal movements may be necessary. If the bound object is not guided exactly, it can be further delayed by tilting the bound object or the lock protruding from it.
  • the invention therefore looks for a simple solution for moving and controlling a removable part of the lock holder, which facilitates the removal of the bound object, and finds the solution in the features of claim 1, preferably also the subclaims.
  • connection of the removable holder part to the movable part of the loop guide makes it unnecessary to provide special mounting, drive and control elements for the removable holder part.
  • an ejector effect is exerted on the lock or on the bound object, since the removable part of the lock holder engages behind a part of the lock or the bound object with respect to the removal direction and thereby the lock or the bound object during the opening movement of the loop guide in Removal direction. This makes the removal of the bound object much easier.
  • the invention is applicable regardless of the manner in which the movable part of the loop guide is guided.
  • the simplest and most practical form of the guide is the swivel guide.
  • the removable holding part receives a movement component in the removal direction. If the pivot axis lies behind the lock holder with respect to the removal direction, the removable part of the holder receives a movement component which is directed laterally away from the lock with respect to the removal direction.
  • the two directions of movement are expediently combined with one another, so that the direction of movement of the removable holder part is moved in the removal direction and transversely thereto when the holder is opened.
  • the removable part of the lock holder comprises a spur which grips between the strap end fastened to the lock and the free strap end protruding from the strap opening. This spur can form the start of the wrapping guide.
  • the feature of the invention can also be seen that the removable part of the lock holder forms an abutment for a blade that cuts off the protruding end of the band tongue. A special organ for these purposes is therefore unnecessary.
  • the invention is particularly useful when the lock is arranged on the circumference of the largest circle to be accommodated in the free area within the loop guide.
  • This arrangement is desirable because the object to be tied (e.g. cable harness) can then take on the ideal circular outline in the tensioning process, which is not possible or only possible when there are constructional complications if the lock is arranged laterally outside this circle on a gusset extending from it.
  • the tool has a tool body 1 and a handle 2, on which it can be held. Between the walls 3 and 4 of the housing body 1 there is a guide channel 5 for a band 6 made of tough elastic plastic such as polyamide. It reaches the position shown in FIG. 1 within the channel 5 in any way, for example by automatic means (not shown) from a tape magazine or by hand.
  • the band has a band tongue 7 and a head 8, the tip of the band tongue pointing to the front end of the tool body shown on the left in FIG. 1, while the head 8 is located at the rear.
  • the guide channel 5 there is a slide head 9 behind the lock 8, the end face of which cooperates with the lock 8 is adapted to the shape of the lock 8 and is fastened to the front end of a flexible steel strip 10 which is wound on a roller 11.
  • the head 9 and the steel band 10 together form a slide for pushing the band 6 from the position shown in FIG. 1 to the position (FIG. 3) in which the band is used to bind an object.
  • the roller 11 is rotated in the direction of the arrow 14, the steel strip 10 with the slide head 9 is pushed forward along the guide channel 5.
  • the tool has pliers formed by parts 15 and 16. It forms a guide for the band 6 during its path wrapping around the object to be bound.
  • Pliers part 15 is pivotable about the axis 17;
  • Pliers part 16 is pivotable about the axis 18.
  • Drive and control means are provided which provide for the pivoting of the pliers parts from the open position shown in FIG. 1 to further functional positions, as described below. These drive and control means are conventional and therefore not shown and explained.
  • the pliers hold an object to be bound, which can be, for example, a bundle of cables 19 (FIG. 2) which are to be firmly bound together by means of the band 6, as is shown in FIG Final stage is shown in Fig.1.
  • the band tongue 7 surrounds the cable bundle 19 under tension. The free end of the band tongue 7 is guided through the lock 8 and fastened therein. The protruding end of the tongue is cut off.
  • the pliers parts 15 and 16 can be brought into a closed looping position according to FIG. They contain a guide groove 20, the width of which corresponds approximately to that of the band tongue 7 and the depth of which is considerably greater than the thickness of the band tongue 7.
  • the guide groove 20 is delimited at its beginning by a spur 21 which is firmly connected to the pliers part 16. If the tip of the band tongue 7 is inserted into the beginning of the guide groove 20, which is accomplished by means of no interest here, its further path through this groove is determined around the object 19 to be bound, which ends at 22 at the inner end of the pliers part 15 .
  • the lock 8 has also reached its end position, which is determined by the lock holder.
  • This consists of a mounting part 23 fixed to the housing, the surface 24 of which faces the lock is at least partially adapted to the shape of the castle 8.
  • the already mentioned spur 21 and the area 35 behind the spur 21 which is cut out in the plane of the drawing for the passage of the band but can form stop surfaces for the lock laterally therefrom (above and below the drawing) for the lock holder.
  • the spur 21 and the part 35 together with the mounting part 23 fixed to the housing form a stop which is adapted to the shape of the lock 8 so that its position in the mounting is clearly determined, if it is pressed against this stop.
  • the slide head 9 which is designed as a third mounting part. Due to a continuous feed force exerted on the steel strip 10, which can be determined, for example, by a slip clutch or spring in the drive of the roller 11, the slide head 9 presses the lock 8 against the holding parts 21, 23 and thereby determines exactly the end position of the lock.
  • the spur 21 grips between the strap tongue 7, where it is integrally connected to the lock 8, and the mouth of the strap opening 25 indicated by dashed lines for receiving the strap tongue in the lock. This means that the tip of the strap during the wrapping movement (Fig. 2nd ) on the front, but must go through on the back of the spur in the final state.
  • the spur itself lies between these two band areas as a stop on the lock body and is therefore involved in its positioning. However, this is not absolutely necessary. It is only necessary that the holder parts 21, 23, 9 cooperate with the surface of the lock body in such a way that its position is clearly defined.
  • the lock is shaped so that the tape originates from the lock approximately in the feed direction and that the tape opening 25 is approximately parallel to this direction. Exact parallelism is not necessary. Rather, when looking at FIG. 3, the band opening could also be a little counterclockwise with respect to the direction shown be twisted.
  • the free end of the strap tongue is located approximately at the end 22 of the loop guide or between this end and the strap lock 8.
  • the strap tip must now be inserted into the strap opening 25 of the lock. This is done in that the pliers part 15 is pivoted further from the wrap position shown in Fig. 2 in the direction of arrow 26. This shortens the distance available in the loop guide for receiving the band tongue 7. Since the lock 8 is held in the meantime, the tape tip must continue to move.
  • the pliers part 15 has reached its end position shown in FIG. 3, the free end of the band tongue 7 has passed through the band opening 25 and has reached the gap between two tensioning rollers 28, 29 rotating in the direction of the arrow, which grip and tension the band end.
  • the tensioning process is continued until the desired tension in the strap tongue 7 is reached and the object (cable 19) to be tied is firmly tied.
  • a blade 31 is provided, which is guided in its longitudinal direction and is connected to conventional drive and control means, not shown. To carry out the cut, it is moved to the left in FIG. 3, so that its cutting edge cuts through the strip tongue.
  • the spur 21 serves as an abutment. It can be sufficient for the spur to form a smooth contact surface for the belt in its abutment area, as shown. Instead, a depression can also be provided at this point in the surface of the spur, which forms a counter-cutting edge or cutting edge which interacts with the blade.
  • areas of the lock projecting laterally in relation to the removal direction play a role, such as, for example, the plate 34, which with the pin 33 belongs to fastening elements, which are to be used on the lock for attachment to a holding plate, for example a control panel.
  • the plate 34 which with the pin 33 belongs to fastening elements, which are to be used on the lock for attachment to a holding plate, for example a control panel.
  • Undercut surfaces on the slide head 9 and on the part 35 are assigned to the plate 34, which grip in front of the plate (in relation to the removal direction) and thus fix it in the removal direction.
  • the laterally projecting parts of the lock also include the free band end 30 which projects beyond the lock, provided that it is not removed from the blade 31.
  • the spur 21 engages in front of this protruding band end.
