Definitions
- the invention relates to a drain valve according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
- a drain valve of this type is known from DE-U-70 31 718. This has a rotatable perforated disc in the valve housing with which two different amounts of flushing water can be set. To turn the disc, an upper hood of the valve housing must be removed. With a drain valve already installed in a cistern and especially with a concealed cistern, this is not or hardly possible.
- a similar drain valve is known from DE-A-34 00 166, but in which a handle is arranged outside the valve housing, on which the desired amount of flushing water can be set. It is possible to change the amount of flushing water with this valve per se, but here too it is necessary to reach deep into the cistern.
- the invention has for its object to provide a drain valve of the type mentioned, in which an adjustment or conversion of the amount of rinsing water is much easier even when the drain fitting is installed.
- the drain valve should still be inexpensive to manufacture and functionally reliable. The object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1.
- the amount of flushing water is adjusted by means of the valve tube. Since the valve tube now protrudes from the top of the valve housing, it can be easily and securely gripped even when the drain fitting is installed, with the need to reach into the cistern much less than before. No parts of the drain valve need to be removed beforehand.
- the valve tube has engagement means which can be brought into engagement with the valve tube in order to adjust the means for regulating the rate of descent. It has now been shown that an adjustment or changeover according to the invention both valve types mentioned above in relation to the prior art is possible. Both can be adjusted or changed by lifting and turning the valve tube. In one case the engagement means are arranged at the lower end of the valve tube and in the other case above the float. The manipulations are therefore the same for both valve types. Further advantageous features result from the dependent claims, the following description and the drawing.
- FIG. 1 shows a drain valve 1 with a valve tube 26, which here is also an overflow tube.
- the pipe 26 can be lifted vertically to a limited extent in a valve housing 36 stored.
- an eyelet 25 is attached to the upper end of the valve tube 26, in which a lever 24 of an actuating device engages.
- the valve tube 26 is raised by pivoting the lever 24.
- a valve plate 27 is fastened in a holder 44 and cooperates with a valve seat 28.
- Flushing water located in the cistern 3 can exit through side windows 50 of a valve housing 36 into a drain opening 48 of a nozzle 29 and finally into a toilet bowl (not shown here).
- the drain valve 1 can be attached to the cistern 3 in the usual way by means of a nut 31.
- the nut 31 is screwed onto an external thread 32 of the socket 29.
- a sealing ring 30 ensures a liquid-tight connection.
- an annular floating body 38 is arranged in an insert 37, which is connected to the valve tube 26 via a hood-shaped stop 34.
- the insert 37 is connected to the valve housing 36 by means of a cover 33.
- the hood 33 is in turn attached to the valve housing 36 with a snap connection 35.
- the insert 37 is filled with rinsing water.
- the float 38 exerts an upward force on the valve tube 26, but it does is substantially less than the pressure of the flushing water on the valve plate 27.
- the float 38 can hold the valve tube 26 in the raised position when the insert 37 is full.
- two outlet openings 39 are provided in a bottom 49 of the insert 37. These openings 39 are of comparatively large dimensions, such that the level of the water in the insert 37 decreases substantially with the level of the remaining rinsing water during a rinsing process.
- the insert 37 is thus essentially emptied when the rinsing water outside the insert 37 has reached the height of the bottom 49.
- the buoyancy of the float 38 is then no longer present and the valve tube 26 falls down onto the valve seat 28. In this case, the drain valve is closed before the cistern 3 is completely emptied.
- a perforated disk 40 is arranged on the underside of the bottom 49, which has two through openings 41 and two smaller through openings 41a, which can be brought into register with the openings 39 .
- the openings 39 can be covered by rotating the perforated disk 40. If the smaller openings 41a are in register with the passage openings 39, the result is that that the insert 37 is emptied more slowly through the openings 41a during a flushing.
- the floating body 38 therefore exerts a longer buoyancy on the valve tube 26 during a flushing process.
- the exit velocity of the flushing water from the insert 37 can now be measured by appropriate dimensioning of the openings 41a such that the valve tube only falls back on the valve seat 28 when the cistern is completely emptied.
- the perforated disk 40 is shown in a position in which the through openings 39 are not covered. In this position, only a partial rinse can be triggered, for example with six liters of rinse water.
- two recesses 45 are arranged on the upper side in the holder 44 such that they can be brought into engagement with two downwardly projecting cams 43 when the valve tube 26 is raised.
- These cams are formed on the underside of the perforated disk 40.
- the perforated disk 40 is rotatably mounted on the underside of the insert 37. The rotatability is limited by a cam 47 formed on the disk 40, which engages in a slot 46.
- Four locking tongues 42 formed on the bottom 49 at the bottom hold and guide the disk 40.
- the lower part of the tube 26 is shown in broken lines in FIG. 1 in the position in which the cams 43 engage in the recesses 45.
- valve tube 26 is gripped at the upper end and raised until the cams 43 engage in the corresponding recesses 45. Now the valve tube 26 is rotated about its longitudinal axis until the perforated disk 40 is in contact with the other stop. The passage openings 39 are now covered by the disk 40. During the flushing process, the water in the insert 37 escapes from it through the openings comparatively slowly and the float exerts a lift on the valve tube 26 longer than in the other setting. With this setting, the valve tube 26 only closes the valve when the cistern is completely emptied.
- a valve pipe 5 is lifted exactly the same way in order to change over or adjust the flushing water quantity and this is then rotated by a certain angle about the longitudinal axis of the pipe 5.
- a chamber 21 open at the bottom is provided as a floating body, which is integrally formed on the valve tube 5 and which has projections 20 on the upper side.
- a valve plate 6 is attached in a conventional manner to a holder 7 and at the upper end the valve tube 5 has an eyelet 4 into which a lever (not shown here) of an actuating device engages. The tube 5 is raised to trigger the flushing.
- valve housing 12 mounted, on the inside of which an intermediate base 13 is formed, which has a central opening 22 for receiving the valve tube 5 and two smaller axially offset kidney-shaped openings 16, in each of which a cam 17 engages.
- cams 17 are formed on the underside of a disc 15 which is inserted into the housing 12 from above and is rotatably mounted therein.
- the openings 16 limit the rotatability of the disk 15.
- a lower interior 51 of the valve housing 12 is via an opening 14, a channel 18 of the disk 15 and via an opening 19 in the housing 12 connected to the environment of the valve 2. This has the following effect during a rinsing process.
- valve tube 5 is raised, as usual, until the chamber 21 filled with air is in contact with the intermediate floor 13.
- the buoyancy of the chamber 21 in the rinse water temporarily holds the valve tube 5 in the raised position. If the flushing water in the cistern drops below the level of the intermediate floor 13, air from the outside of the valve housing passes through the openings 19 and 14 into the interior 51, which is increasingly filled with air as the flushing water level drops. The buoyancy of the chamber 21 decreases increasingly until finally the valve tube 5 falls back on the valve seat 8. In this case, valve 2 is closed before the cistern is completely emptied.
- the disc 15 is rotated to a limited extent by lifting and rotating the valve tube 5.
- the opening 14 is brought into overlap with a smaller opening 14a of the disk 15 and the opening 19 is covered.
- the chamber 21 thus continues to experience buoyancy and keeps the valve open, while water slowly flows out of the upper chamber of the housing 12 through the openings 14 and 14a.
- air passes through the openings 14 and 14a into the intermediate space 51 and the water therein exits downwards.
- the buoyancy of the chamber 21 is thus eliminated and the flushing pipe 5 falls back on the valve seat 8 and closes the valve.
- the closure takes place here essentially when the cistern is completely empty.
- valve tube 5 is raised as mentioned.
- the cams 17 are brought into engagement with the lugs 20.
- the lugs 20 take the cams 17 with them until they have each reached the other end of an opening 16.
- valve pipe 5 or 26 Since the valve pipe 5 or 26 is gripped at its upper end, it is necessary to reach into the cistern less deeply than before when the drain valve is installed. This is particularly important for concealed cisterns, where the interior is usually difficult to access.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drain valve according to the preamble of
A similar drain valve is known from DE-A-34 00 166, but in which a handle is arranged outside the valve housing, on which the desired amount of flushing water can be set. It is possible to change the amount of flushing water with this valve per se, but here too it is necessary to reach deep into the cistern.
The invention has for its object to provide a drain valve of the type mentioned, in which an adjustment or conversion of the amount of rinsing water is much easier even when the drain fitting is installed. The drain valve should still be inexpensive to manufacture and functionally reliable. The object is achieved by the invention according to
In the drain valve according to the invention, the amount of flushing water is adjusted by means of the valve tube. Since the valve tube now protrudes from the top of the valve housing, it can be easily and securely gripped even when the drain fitting is installed, with the need to reach into the cistern much less than before. No parts of the drain valve need to be removed beforehand. According to a further development of the invention, the valve tube has engagement means which can be brought into engagement with the valve tube in order to adjust the means for regulating the rate of descent.

Ein Dichtungsring 30 gewährleistet eine flüssigkeitsdichte Verbindung.1 shows a
So that the
So that flushing with complete emptying of the cistern is now also possible with the
In order to change over the
To change over the
In the embodiment of a
If the cistern is to be completely emptied, the
To change over the
In the case of both
