Definitions

  • the invention relates to a punch with a lower part, which has two slots for the insertion of a sheet to be punched, the upper surface of which is each provided with a guide opening and the lower surface of which is in each case provided with a punch opening, and furthermore with an upper part which is articulated on the lower part and which counteracts when pressed down a spring presses the punches guided in the guide openings into the two punch openings and thereby punches the sheet.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a punch that is foldable, that is, in a folded position, can be easily carried and carried in a trouser, jacket or shirt pocket.
  • Such a foldable punch is characterized in that the upper part and lower part are each formed by two webs and both webs of the lower part and both webs of the upper part can be folded against one another such that the outer ends of the webs of the upper part are rotatably articulated on the outer ends of the webs of the lower part are, and the axes of rotation of these articulations are aligned with one another in a folding position of the upper part and lower part intended for perforation.
  • the punch is shown in Figures 1 to 3 in the folded state, in which it can easily be put in a jacket or trouser pocket.
  • Figure 1 In the plan view ( Figure 1) you can see the two webs 2 and 3 forming the upper part 1; the view from below (FIG. 2) shows the two webs 5 and 6 forming the lower part 4.
  • the webs 2 and 3 are foldably connected to one another via a rotary connection which is formed by the screw 7 (FIG. 3).
  • the webs 5 and 6 are rotatably connected to one another via a rotary connection which is formed by the screw 8 (FIG. 2, FIG. 3).
  • each step-shaped boom 11 On the web 5 - and (in Fig. 3) behind it on the web 6 - are attached by means of screws 10 each step-shaped boom 11. Between the free ends of the arms 11 and the webs 5 and 6 there are the slots 22 and 22 'for inserting a sheet 23 to be punched (cf. also FIGS. 4, 5, 6). At the outer — in FIG. 3: lower — end of the arms 11 connected to the webs 5 and 6, the likewise outer — in FIGS. 1 to 3: likewise lower — ends of the webs 2 and 3 are articulated. Therefore, if in the following it is mentioned that the outer ends of the webs 2, 3 are articulated to the outer ends of the webs 5, 6, the outrigger 11 are also considered to be components of the webs 5, 6. The articulation is carried out by means of axes of rotation 12, 13 which, as can be seen from FIG. 4, are screwed into the side parts of the U-shaped webs 2 and 3, respectively.
  • a tab 14 which is arranged transversely to the level of the webs and has an opening 15. This tab is fastened to the web 5 or is formed in one piece with it.
  • the tab 15 has a slot 16 into which a cam 17 projects in the folded position (FIGS. 1 to 4).
  • the cam 17 is attached to the web 2.
  • the web 5, connected to the tab 14 belongs to Lower part 4.
  • the web 2, on which the cam 17 is attached belongs to the upper part 1. By fixing the cam 17 in the slot 16 or on one side, the upper part is thus in this folded position (FIGS. 1 to 4) 1 locked to the lower part 4 in such a way that the two cannot be pressed apart by the spring 18 acting between them.
  • the spring 18 is only indicated in Figure 3 for the sake of clarity. It is U-shaped. One of its legs 18 'is firmly connected to the base part 5' (see FIG.) Of the web 5 which is U-shaped in cross section. The other leg 18 ′′ of the spring forms the free end and carries the punch 19. This is thus with its head part 24 against the bottom part 3 ′ (see FIG. 4) of the U-shaped cross section (see FIG. 4). Bridge 3 pressed. These parts are not all shown in full in Figure 3, otherwise the figure would be overloaded. However, it results from FIGS. 4, 5 and 6.
  • the design of the spring 18 is best seen in Figure 6. As already mentioned, it is attached with the leg 18 'to the bottom part 5' of the leg 5, e.g. soldered or screwed.
  • the boom 11 has a guide opening 25 which is arranged such that the punch 19, when it is pressed down, is guided in it.
  • the outer end of the web 6 Aligned with the guide opening 25, the outer end of the web 6 has a punch opening 26 into which the punch 19 is pressed during its downward movement, in such a way that its cutting edges punch a sheet 23 inserted into the slot 21 in a known manner.
  • the downward movement of the punch 19 is effected in that the punch is pivoted at the point at which the webs 2, 3 of the upper part 1 and 5, 6 of the lower part 4 are pivoted to one another, i.e.
  • FIG. 7 shows an enlarged representation of the folding connection of the webs 2 and 3 to the disk 9.
  • the disk 9 is - as already mentioned - connected to the webs 2, 3 at their pivot point by means of the screw 7. It has a tab 9 'which is inserted between the two legs of the cross-sectionally U-shaped web 3 such that the disk 9 cannot twist relative to the web 3.
  • the disc 9 also has, as can be seen from FIGS. 6 and 10, a slot 35 which has a quarter-circular course around the screw 7. One end of the slot ends bluntly within the disc 9; the other end opens radially outwards.
  • a leaf spring 28 is formed with the shape of a quarter-circle segment, the front free end 28 'of which can spring relative to the web 2. If this situation is generalized, a leaf spring 28 is fixed on the web 3 - by means of tab 9 'and screw 7 - the free end 28' of which presses against the web 2.
  • Figure 9 shows the disc 9 from the same side as Figure 7, but as a single part.
  • Figure 10 shows the disc 9 from the rear. From this it can be seen that at the front end 28 'of the leaf spring 28 - facing the widened region 31 of the web 2 - a small pin or wart-shaped elevation 29 is attached.
  • Figure 8 shows the same view as Figure 7, but with the difference that the disc 9 has been removed. It can be seen from this that the circularly widened region 31 of the web 2, which is hidden behind the disk 9 in FIG. 7, is provided with two bores 32, 33; Furthermore, the circular region 31 is provided with a quarter-circular groove 34. If the web 2 is now folded relative to the web 3 and thus also the disk 9 fixed to the web 3 relative to the web 2, the raised portion 29 extends in the folded parallel position of the webs 2, 3 with respect to one another (as in FIGS. 1 to 4) in the opening 32. In the unfolded (operating) position of the punch - as in Figures 5 to 8 - the elevation 29 presses into the bore 33. The transition is brought about by the fact that the leaf spring 28 is so far from the Area 21 of the web 2 lifts that the elevation 29 is released and can rotate relative to the web 2.
  • the movement of the webs 2, 3 against one another is limited in that in one position the elevation 30 (see FIG. 10) bears against the left end 34 'of the groove 34. In the other, i.e. In the folded position, the webs 2, 3, the elevation 30 bears against the right end 34 ′′ of the groove 34. In this way, it is also ensured that the desired unfolding or spreading of the two webs of parts 1, 4 - namely by 90 ° - is reliably observed. This must correspond to a certain standardized measure.
  • FIGS. 11 to 13 show a clip 40 and its attachment in the top of the foldable hole punch according to FIGS. 1 to 10.
  • the clip 40 is attached to the location of the rotary connections of the webs 2, 3. With the help of the free-standing end 41, which resiliently presses against the webs 2, 3 lying in front, the hole punch can be clipped into the breast pocket of a shirt or the inside pocket of a jacket.
  • This clip 40 thus represents a clip, as is also used in pencils, ballpoint pens, etc., which is, however, particularly adapted to the special purpose of the present case.
  • the clip also has an arrow-shaped opening 42.
  • the arrow-shaped opening 42 serves to position a printed or fold-marked center line of a sheet 23 in the hole that the two holes are punched symmetrically to the center line.
  • the clamp 40 is bent in a U-shape, the lower one Leg 43 is shorter than the upper leg 44.
  • the clamp 40 is screwed to the webs 2, 3 and the washer 9 by means of the screw 45, which is provided instead of the screw 7 in FIGS. 1 to 10.
  • a small tab 47 is punched out of an incision 46 in the upper leg 44 and bent downwards in the manner shown in FIGS. 11 and 13 and provided with a small offset 48 with which it connects the two interconnected regions of the webs 2, 3 and Disc 9 overlaps.
  • the lower end of the lower leg 43 in FIG. 13 has an elevation 49 which, in the working position of the punch (FIGS.
