- the waste paper mostly contains a certain proportion of contaminants which should be removed during processing for the purpose of reusing the waste paper.
- a number of machines and processes are available for this purpose, which derive the waste paper for further processing as a good substance and the contaminants removed from it as a reject.
- These rejects are usually deposited or, in special cases, processed into new products. Since waste paper is usually processed in an aqueous suspension, the rejects are highly water-containing, which makes them difficult to manipulate and considerably increases the costs of transport and landfill for their disposal.
