Definitions
- the invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1 for connecting a wire to a contact element or the like. by deforming clamping elements of the contact element by means of pressure elements, in particular pressure elements of a crimping tool which can be exchangeably arranged in a press.
- Devices of this type for cable assembly - for example for the firm connection of wire ends with plugs and cable lugs - usually consist of a stop press with a vertically moved press stamp, which acts on a print head of the crimping tool arranged underneath, the crimping dies provided being guided downwards in this and a horizontally inserted plug member or the like. Fix the contact element by deforming the terminal lugs at one end of the cable or wire. The latter is stripped to a certain length, so that a smaller diameter than the isolated section is produced.
- the so-called crimp height of the acting stamp edge (s) required for the crimping process described is set by hand in dependence on the wire cross-sections or the shape of the contact element.
- rotary heads with surfaces of different heights have been used, as disclosed in DE-AS 15 15 395.
- the number of different height levels is predetermined, with the result that when the tool is transferred to another press with a different dimension and with different dead centers, the adjustment range may no longer be sufficient.
- This also applies to contacts that one have a very large area with regard to the cable to be attached to them. If a cable cross section of 0.5 mm 2 is attached, a crimp depth of 1.2 mm is required, with a cross section of 4 mm 2 approximately 2.8 mm.
- a generic device for connecting a wire to a contact element or the like is also known from WO 88/09576, this publication describing in particular a device for adjusting the closing height of a press with the aid of two mutually rotatable adjusting disks which are rotatable relative to one another.
- this device only has a radially comparatively small adjustment range, u. a. due to the fixed upper disc.
- this known device requires the central bolt to be screwed into the press in order to insert the tool. In particular, a quick tool change cannot be achieved with this known technology.
- the object is achieved by the device for connecting a wire to a contact element with the features of claim 1.
- Both adjusting disks are advantageously each provided with at least one annular surface rising spirally in the printing direction.
- a radial step edge is created between the beginning and end of each of these ring surfaces as a boundary between the beginning and the end of the ascent.
- the adjusting disks lie coaxially one on top of the other, the adjusting member on the clamping member side enclosing a pressure plate which is associated with a surface of the other adjusting disk, i. H. this sits on.
- the pressure plate is to be dimensioned so that it can be inserted into a central recess in the adjusting disk and, on its surface, is provided with two part-circular pressure surfaces that rise as support points for the overlying adjusting disk.
- the pressure plate on the other surface is also advantageous to equip the pressure plate on the other surface as a support surface with a wedge-like latch protruding therefrom; the locking lug engages in a pressure block - which is normally located underneath - and thus serves as a rotation lock.
- the pitch of the clockwise increasing slope of the ring surface or the pressure surface should measure 2.18 mm with a preferred outer diameter of the adjusting disk of 56 mm or an outer diameter of the pressure plate of 42 mm.
- the desk-like surface of an adjusting wedge is assigned to the lower surface of the adjusting disk, the latter also being movably attached to a pressing block on the clamping member side.
- a locking pin serves as a bearing for an upper adjusting disk, which is advantageously pressed onto a pressure plate via plate springs.
- the latter lies on a pressure block and is also fixed by the locking bolt - screwed to the pressure block - and secured against twisting by a fit on the underside.
- a stop press 80 for processing wires or cables up to 6 mm 2 in line cross-section has a quick-change crimping tool 84 for connecting an insulated electrical wire 85 to one of one, below a press housing 82 containing control and pressure devices and provided on frame legs 81 Blank strand or sheet metal strip 87 separated connector, contact element 88 or the like.
- flags are pressed or crimped onto the previously stripped wire end 86 and the subsequently insulated wire 86 with deformation into sleeve-like clamping sections 90, 90 a, the latter Take the upper edges to the element base 91 at different distances t, (insulation area) and t 1 (wire end area) (Fig. 2).
- the flags 89, 89 a are rolled in so tightly that, for example, the strand of the wire end 86 a flows and air pockets are prevented.
- crimp heights t, t 1 must be adjustable in order to be able to adapt the effect of the deformation to the respective wire cross section.
- the device for adjusting the crimp height consists of two units, namely a pneumatically and motor-controlled guide part 10 which is fixed on the stop press 80 and a part which is assigned to this and which is to be adjusted.
- the latter is an adjusting disk 12 screwed onto the crimping tool 84 and rotatably mounted.
- the adjusting disk 12 on the tool side consists of an upper disk 13 and a lower disk 14, which are penetrated by a hollow locking bolt 16. This is surrounded by an inserted disc spring 19.
- FIG. 4, 5 show a part of the crimping tool 84 with the adjusting disc 12 located above, the locking bolt 16 of which is seated in a pressure block 78 of the crimping tool 84.
- Below the adjusting disc 12 parallel crimping dies 74 and 76 are provided, the free lower edges 74 e and 76 e of which are assigned to the wire end 86 and the insulating part 85.
- the crimping dies 74, 76 are separated via the adjusting wheel parts 13, 14 from a press die indicated at 92 in FIG. 1 and by a spacer bush 75; the crimping die 76 for the insulation part 86 can be raised and lowered relative to the other crimping die 74 according to arrow y in FIG. 5.
- This Fig. 5 shows left before Insulation crimping stamp 76, a pressure rod 71 for a knife 72 provided underneath for separating the contact element 88 from the sheet metal strip 87 and, in addition to this knife 72, an anvil
- a cross-sectionally rectangular pressure surface for the washer 14 with associated insulation crimping stamp 76 is indicated at 77, a cross-sectionally U-like pressure surface for the wire crimping stamp 74 at 73.
- a rod 77 i the other printing surface 77 slidable is indicated at 77, a rod 77 i the other printing surface 77 slidable.
- both crimping dies 74, 76 can be loaded with the upper disk 13 of the adjusting disk 12, but that the lower disk 12 adjusts the insulation crimper 76 and thus the height difference between t and t 1 in FIG. 2.
- the adjusting disk 12 is associated with an adjusting wheel 24 of the guide part 10, which also consists of an upper and lower wheel 22, 23 and is provided with an axis B parallel to its axis A, 25 radial teeth 26 projecting from the disk circumference thereof. In the working position shown in FIGS. 12, 13, these mesh with engagement grooves 18 of the adjusting disk 12.
- the axially two-part adjusting wheel 24, with toothed disks 27 screwed to it, is rotatable in a front edge recess of a mounting plate 30 of the guide part 10, its shaft 32 is supported on both ends in two axle plates 34 - the edge recess above and below the mounting plate 30 - and is through Radial pins fixed.

- the adjusting wheel 24 comes into the working position, and the radial teeth 26 of the upper wheel 22 plunge into the engaging grooves 18 of the upper disk 13 of the adjusting disk 12 in order to rotate it further by one grid.
- the adjusting wheel 24 is released from the adjusting disk 12 or its disk circumference 20 and returns to the rest position.
- the lower wheel 23 rotates the lower disk 14, whereby the separate lower wheel drive 40 t also allows a different adjustment direction and a different pitch of the rotation.
- the locking pin 16 serves as a bearing for an upper adjusting disk or upper disk 13 with the interposition of at least one plate spring 19.
- This locking pin 16 has a length a of approximately 35.5 mm and one Outside diameter d 1 of about 14 mm has a shoulder shoulder 57 below its head 56 on its shaft 16 s and an inside passage 58 of a diameter d of about 8 mm for a countersunk screw 60, the conical head surface 60 k of which is in the closed position of a corresponding recess 59 Locking bolt 16 hugs.
- the upper disk 13 is pressed onto a pressure plate 15, which in turn loads the lower adjusting disk or lower disk 14, the latter resting on an outer — annular — bearing surface 61 of the upper disk 13.
