Definitions

  • the invention relates to a radio clock movement according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the generic work is known from EP 0 242 717 A2.
  • the ferrite rod with the coil of a magnetic long-wave antenna is arranged inside a watch case but outside the structure of the electro-mechanical movement and connected to the permanently tuned receiver for demodulating binary-coded time telegrams via a flexible two-wire cable.
  • These time telegrams provide current absolute time information on the basis of which the display, for example the position of the pointer of an electro-mechanical analog display, is checked and, if necessary, corrected, as described in more detail in US Pat. No. 4,645,357.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a work for a small, especially designed as a wristwatch, radio watch in which the design freedom of the housing is preserved and connection complications are avoided.
  • a plate-shaped ferrite antenna rod itself serves as a work plate, circuit carrier and antenna coil former and thus already represents a fully functional clockwork which, when installed in a watch case made of electrically non-shielding material, only needs to be connected to a power source (primary battery or electrochemical or electro-physical memory for buffering in case of operation with solar cells) needs to be connected.
  • a power source primary battery or electrochemical or electro-physical memory for buffering in case of operation with solar cells
  • the volume of the ferrite body specified by the dimensions of the work plate is only hollowed out as far as is absolutely necessary to accommodate higher-carrying components such as the gear train with drive motor, a time-keeping quartz crystal and, if necessary, an antenna circuit balancing capacitor.
  • Flat components such as liquid crystal displays and non-encapsulated integrated circuits (dies) are mounted (glued) directly on the work plate, i.e. on the ferrite core surface, without the interposition of a circuit board and connected to the conductor tracks using advanced connection technologies such as flip-chip bonding are also applied directly (if necessary with the interposition of an insulating layer) in thick or thin layer technology to the ferrite surface and form a three-dimensional interconnect network there, for example, by following the workpiece surface profiling for connecting the factory motor.
  • the depressions to accommodate thicker components can be ground into the plate-shaped hard ferrite body with the necessary precision - especially with regard to the mounting of the pointer wheels.
  • a rough contour can also be produced in the powder metallurgical injection molding process and this can then be brought to the required dimensional accuracy by post-grinding, or a thin plastic precision casting is inserted into the rough rough contour of the work plate.
  • the constriction acting as a bobbin can be offset from the counter-indentation offset on opposite side edges, which provides a field axis parallel to the main plane of the work plate and thus the high directional reception sensitivity of a magnetic dipole. If this constriction rotates instead along the edge of the work plate, a particularly short and therefore directionally insensitive magnetic antenna results, because the coil axis is then oriented normal to the main plane of the work plate.
  • the movement 11 outlined in the drawing is intended for installation in a small watch case, preferably for installation in the case of a wristwatch.
  • the movement 11 essentially consists of a movement plate 12 for receiving the movement 13 and its motor 14 and at least one time-keeping circuit 15 with vibration-stabilizing quartz 16.
  • the movement plate 12 can also be used as a support for an opto-electronic display 31 serve, which can be operated via a decoder 17 from the circuit 15 via a serial bus 18 in order to minimize the effort for the production of conductor tracks 25 on the work plate 12.
  • the wheels of the pointer mechanism 13, which are journalled at the base of a gear recess 19, are held opposite in a bridge designed as a perforated disc 20, which is fixed above the recess 19 on the work plate 12.
  • the motor 14 is thus also positioned in the depression 19 and its coil 21, which rests on a coil carrier 23 screwed to the stator plate 22, is contacted to the two conductor tracks 25 via connecting plates 24 (FIG. 2).
  • Fig. 2 is also taken into account that a precision injection molded part 19 'can be inserted in the recess 19 in order to eliminate dimensional processing of the bottom of the recess 19 with the formation of blind holes for journal bearings.
  • the worktop 12 is an ibs. stretched-rectangular, solid plate made of mechanically hard but magnetically soft ferrite, into which only the most necessary depressions 19 for receiving higher-bearing components such as the pointer mechanism 13 with motor 14 or the quartz 16 are incorporated in order to give the magnetically effective ferrite mass at a given To get the surface and thickness of the worktop 12 as large as possible.
  • components that are not very bulky, such as the integrated circuit 15 or the optronic display 31 with its decoder 17, and the conductor tracks 25 and, if appropriate, a solar cell 26 are glued or laminated flat onto the ferrite plate, if necessary with the interposition of an electrically insulating layer on an electrically conductive surface.
  • This ferrite work plate 12 serves as the core of an antenna coil 27 which is wound eccentrically with respect to the plate 12 around a constriction 28 which acts as a coil former. If the axis of the antenna coil 27 thus extends transversely to the axes of the pointer mechanism 13 and thus parallel to the main plane of the work plate 12, which z. B.
  • a constriction 28 'for receiving the turns of the antenna coil 27 runs along the edge of the ferrite plate 12, so that the axis of the antenna coil 27 transversely to the main plane of the work plate 12 and thus parallel to the Axes of the pointer 13 is oriented, then there is the effect of an extremely short magnetic antenna, the antenna gain is reduced, but compared to the stretched geometry of the work plate 12 acting as an antenna rod has the advantage of better all-round reception sensitivity compared to the dipole character of an antenna ferrite rod.
  • the antenna coil 27 is connected to a long-wave receiver 30, possibly with a parallel connection of a matching capacitor 29 also embedded in the surface of the ferrite work plate 12, which receiver acts as a separate integrated circuit on the surface of the Work plate 12 mounted or can be included in a complex integrated circuit 15 for evaluating the demodulated reception information and control for time display according to Figure 1.
