Definitions

  • the invention relates to a mechanism for attaching a seat of a swivel chair to a chair base according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a mechanism is described in FR-A-2 267 068.
  • the movable fitting part In order to ensure that the movable fitting part can be freely pivoted, it has an obliquely positioned stop surface which, together with a counter surface fixed to the housing, forms a stop. In the rest position predetermined by the leaf spring arrangement, the two stop surfaces form a wedge-shaped gap, and a corresponding wedge-shaped locking slide can be moved into this.
  • DE-A-36 38 273 also discloses a latching adjustment for a rocking mechanism which comprises a toothed rack connected to a pivotable fitting part and a pivotable locking tooth which cooperates with the latter.
  • This locking mechanism is mechanically less resilient.
  • the present invention is therefore intended to further develop a seat mechanism according to the preamble of claim 1 be that it is compact and inexpensive to manufacture.
  • an optional lockability of the second fitting part in the rest position is obtained without any noteworthy additional costs, after locking lugs and the guide for the locking slide can be formed practically without additional costs when spraying the fitting parts (usually made of aluminum).

  • a further joint sleeve 44 is arranged on the hollow axis 28 in the sliding play. This is integrally formed on a spring seat part designated overall by 46, which also comprises a tensioning wing 48 running tangentially from the lower end of the joint sleeve 44.

  • the contact body 60 is a molded part made of a plastic material which is wear-resistant and has a low coefficient of friction with the material of the leaf spring 58. Collars 62 and 64 of the contact body serve to laterally position the ends of the leaf springs 58.
  • the leaf spring assemblies 54, 56 further comprise a central leaf spring 66, which extends approximately to the center of the upper fitting part 38, and a lower leaf spring 68, the length of which is approximately one third of the length of the leaf spring 58.

  • the threaded spindle 76 passes through the tensioning wing 48 with play, and the top of the handle 78 engages via a ball bearing 80 on a cutting edge-like surface section 82 of the underside of the tensioning wing 48.
  • the leaf spring assemblies 54, 56 are accommodated in groove-shaped recesses 84 with play, which are formed in the underside of the support section 72.
  • the pitch of the screw drive formed by the threaded spindle 76 and the nut 74 is small (fine thread), so that one can easily change the angle at which the recesses 50, 52 are made against the force of the leaf spring assemblies 54, 56 by turning the handle 78 can. With this change in angle, the pretension of the leaf spring assemblies 54, 56 also changes.
  • FIG. 1 the course of the leaf spring assembly is shown by solid lines when the seat is unloaded and the medium pretensioning force. If you turn the handle 78 clockwise, you can increase the angle of the recesses 50, 52 to the horizontal, so that the leaf spring 58 then has the course indicated by dashed lines at 86. The pushing down of the upper fitting part 38 then requires a greater force.
  • the dash-dotted lines 88 indicate such a position of the upper fitting part 38 that is obtained by loading the seat.
  • Fitting rest position has the upper fitting part at the articulated ends of the fitting arms 34, 46 inwardly drawn stop sections 90 which cooperate with fixed stop sections 92 of the lower fitting part 16 which run away upward from the holding sleeves 24, 26.
  • the inner sides of the fitting arms 34, 36 carry locking sections 94 which, with play, can be moved away over locking sections 96 carried by the outer sides of the fitting arms 20, 22.
  • the lower boundary surface of the locking sections 94 lies a small distance D above the upper boundary surface of the adjacent locking sections.
  • a locking slide generally designated 100, can be moved. Its thickness is somewhat smaller than the distance D, so that arms 102 of the locking slide having the shape of a rectangular U can be inserted between the end faces of the locking sections 94, 96. In this position of the locking slide 100, the upper fitting part 38 can then no longer be pivoted downward
  • Moving the locking slide 100 can e.g. by means of a shaft 104 mounted in the interior of the hollow shaft 28, which carries radial actuating pins 106, which penetrate elongated holes (not shown) in the hollow shaft 28 and the holding sleeves 24, 26 in the circumferential direction and can be pivoted in driving openings (not shown) of the locking slide 100 intervention.
