Description

No. 3,703,788 describes a sealing device fastened to the lower edge of the door leaf with a U-shaped rail and a sealing strip which can be displaced vertically in the rail. A curved leaf spring is attached at one end to the rail, in the middle to the sealing strip and at the second end to a block slidably mounted in the rail. The block is pushed in by an operating rod protruding above the rail when the door is closed completely. The bar is pressed down by the toggle action of the spring and seals the door leaf against the floor. This sealing device requires a relatively large height. It is unsuitable for wide doors because the bar is only actuated in the middle and therefore when the friction is not the same tilts on both sides.

From CH-A-465 830 it is known to guide the sealing strip in parallel via two articulated lever gears. This solution is therefore also suitable for wide door leaves. However, it presupposes that the rail is installed in the door leaf exactly parallel to the floor, otherwise the sealing effect is insufficient. This solution also requires a lot of height.

The present invention is based on the object of designing a device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it requires only a small overall height and that it can also be used for wide door leaves. This object is achieved by the combination of features according to claim 1.

In der abgesenkten Lage der Leiste 5 dichtet dieser Bogen gegen den Fussboden ab.Figures 1a and 1b and Figures 2a and 2b are parts of the same section. The sealing device shown in Figures 1 to 5 has a U-shaped, downwardly open rail 1 with a horizontal web 2 and two vertical legs 3. Two inwardly projecting guide ribs 4 are formed on the web 2. The rail 1 expediently consists of extruded aluminum and is usually inserted into a groove in the lower end face of a door leaf and fastened, for example, to the two end ends by means of L-shaped bent-off sheets. Between the two legs 3, a sealing strip 5 is displaceable in the vertical direction. The strip 5 consists of an upwardly open U-profile 6 made of aluminum with a horizontal web 7 and two vertical legs 8. At the transition between the web 7 and legs 8, the profile 6 has a longitudinal groove 9. In these grooves 9 are longitudinal webs 10 anchored a rubber seal 11. The seal 11 rests with free legs 12 on the legs 3 of the rail 1 and is arched out between the grooves 9. In the lowered position of the strip 5 seals this arch against the floor.

The strip 5 is biased upwards by two flat-arched leaf springs 20, 21. The springs 20, 21 are fastened to the web 2 of the rail 1 at a first fastening point 22, for example with a blind rivet 23 with a washer 24. Approximately in the middle, the springs 20, 21 are attached to the web 7 of the profile 6 at a second attachment point 25. At point 25, the web 7 can be displaced in the height direction to a limited extent with respect to the springs 20, 21 and is preloaded downwards by weak springs 26. The point 25 can in turn be formed by a blind rivet 27 and a washer 28. At the opposite end, the springs 20, 21 are connected via a third fastening point 29 to an actuating rod 30 which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the rail 1. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 5, point 29 is formed by a threaded engagement between springs 20, 21 and rod 30. For this purpose, the springs 20, 21 have at the end a U-shaped offset 31 with a threaded bore 32, into each of which an external thread 33 of the rod 30 is screwed. The rod 30 is mounted in two adjacent places 29 on the web 2 fixed plastic bearing blocks 34. At least the spring 20 has two longitudinal slots 35 through which the rod 30 protrudes. The free end 36 projects beyond the front end 37 of the rail 1. Those between the two guide ribs 4 are expedient guided springs 20, 21 at the points where they rest on the web 2, coated with plastic, for example with a self-adhesive plastic film, so that abrasion is avoided and the friction is reduced.

In the device used in a door leaf, when the door leaf closes, the end 36 of the rod 30 abuts the door frame and is pressed in. As a result, the springs 20, 21 between the fastening points 22, 29 are loaded under pressure. Due to the toggle action, the fastening points 25 deflect downward and press the bar 5 against the floor, so that the gap between the lower edge of the door leaf and the floor is sealed against sound and air passage. The springs 26 enable a good seal even if the lower edge of the door leaf is not parallel to the floor. The degree of lowering of the strip 5 is adjustable by turning the rod 30. In order to prevent the legs 12 of the rubber seal 11 from escaping from the rail 1, the stroke of the fastening point 29 of the spring 20 is limited. For this purpose, the web 2 has an indentation 38, which forms a stop 39 for the spring 20.

The device described has a very low overall height, so that the groove in the lower end face of the door leaf only has to be cut a little deep. The device is very simple and can therefore be manufactured inexpensively.

Because the strip 5 is supported by two springs 20, 21, the parallel guidance is ensured, and the device can also be used on wide door leaves. For very wide wings, it can be useful to provide a third or even fourth spring 20, 21. The device is also suitable for sealing sliding doors or folding walls.

Der Block 42 ist wiederum zwischen den Führungsrippen 4 des Steges 2 geführt.6 shows a variant of the fastening point 29 of the spring 20. Here, the end 40 of the spring 20 is inserted into a slot 41 of an L-shaped plastic block 42 and secured by a snap connection, which is formed from a bore 43 in the spring end 40 and a cam 44 of the block 42 protruding into the slot 41. The other leg 45 of the block 42 has a threaded bore 46 into which the thread 33 of the rod 30 is screwed. The block 42 is in turn guided between the guide ribs 4 of the web 2.

The springs 26 can also be omitted, a possible difference in height of the two fastening points 25 relative to the rail 1 with the bar 5 lowered by different bending of the two springs 20, 21 can be achieved.

Instead of the thread engagement 32, 33 shown, the springs 20, 21 or the block 42 can also be rigid with the rod 30 connected and a cap screwed onto the free end 36 of the rod 30.
