Definitions

  • the object of the present invention is therefore to create a device by which the exchange process is mechanized and shortened in time.
  • the solution to this problem consists in a device on roof tile turret presses which has an endless conveyor arranged next to the press drum and gradually rotating in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the drum in the manner of a paternoster having horizontal trays, the number of trays increasing the number of drum surfaces by at least one exceeds and everyone Carrier floor can be stopped approximately in the horizontal plane of the top drum surface, a transfer device for transferring a used lower mold located on the top drum surface to the empty carrier floor stopped in its horizontal plane and for transferring a new one located on the horizontal plane of the top drum surface Has lower mold on the top drum surface and a control device for synchronizing the movements of the press drum, endless conveyor and transfer device.
  • This device is advantageously operated as follows.
  • the endless conveyor which has seven trays, is first loaded with six sub-molds and then the trays left empty are brought into the horizontal plane of the top drum surface.
  • the transfer device now grips the used lower mold located on this top drum surface and transfers it to the empty supporting floor of the endless conveyor.
  • the endless conveyor is moved one rotation step, so that a support base with a new lower shape is now in the horizontal plane of the top drum surface.
  • the transfer device detects the new lower mold and places it on the top drum surface.
  • the endless conveyor is stopped, the drum is rotated one step further, so that the next drum surface reaches the top horizontal plane.
  • the transfer device can remove its lower mold and transfer it to the empty base. Then, with the drum at a standstill, the endless conveyor is moved further and the new lower mold of the next supporting floor is moved onto the drum surface. This process is repeated until all the used subforms have been replaced by new subforms. The endless conveyor is then unloaded and loaded for the next exchange process.
  • the roof tile turret press consists of a hexagonal drum 10, which rotates step by step around a drum axis 11, and a press ram 12 located above the drum 10 and vertically movable up and down.
  • the six drum surfaces each have releasably attached to a base plate 13, each base plate 13 carrying two sub-molds 14. These presses, which have several sub-molds on a drum surface, are called multi-field presses.
  • the two upper molds 15 assigned to the lower molds 14 are attached to a base plate 16, which in turn is detachably fastened to the lower press die face.
  • a continuous conveyor designated as a whole with 17, is set up, which has seven horizontal trays 17 1 - 17,, which gradually rotate in a plane perpendicular to the drum axis 11.
  • Drive and arrangement of the endless conveyor 17 are such that in each holding stage one of the trays 171 - 177 is approximately at the height of the top, horizontal drum surface and is aligned with this.
  • a transfer device 18 with an extendable gripper arm 19 is provided.
  • the arm 20 with crane hook 21 is also indicated, which serves to load the endless conveyor 17 with sub-molds 14.
  • 22 denotes a water trough through which the trays 171 - 177 are passed.
  • 3A and 3B can be seen how the base plates 13, which support the lower molds 14, are held on the drum surfaces.
  • the mounting is carried out by clamping pieces 30, which are seated on piston rods 31 of a pneumatic or hydraulic piston-cylinder unit consisting of piston 32 and cylinder 33.
  • the arrangement is such that a clamping piece 30 engages over the marginal edges of two adjacent base plates 13.
  • the clamping pieces can be pressed against the edge edges of the base plates 13 or, releasing them, extended to the outside.
  • control device (not shown) which coordinates the gradual orbital movement of the endless conveyor 17, the gradual rotation of the drum 10 during the exchange process and the piston-cylinder units 32, 33.
  • the exchange process of the lower molds 14 takes place as follows. It is based on the situation that the sub-molds located on the press drum 10 are used up and that there is a base plate 13 with a pair of new sub-molds 14 on the six support bases 17 1 - 17 'of the endless conveyor 17, whereas the support base 17' is empty.
  • the endless conveyor 17 is now moved in such a way that the empty support base 177 is in the uppermost position, that is to say at a height approximately that of the uppermost drum surface; this position corresponds to FIG. 2.
  • the piston-cylinder units 32, 33 assigned to the uppermost base plate 13 now come into action, that is to say the piston rods 31 move outwards and the clamping pieces 30 lift off Base plate 13, which is released.
  • the gripper arm 19 of the transfer device moves 18 from, detects the released base plate 13 and implements this on the empty support floor 177 of the endless conveyor.
  • the gap between drum 10 and endless conveyor 17 can be bridged by a fixed or foldable chute 23 (FIG. 2).
  • the endless conveyor 17 is moved further by one revolution step, so that the support base 17 'reaches the uppermost position, aligned with the empty drum surface.
  • the gripper arm 19 detects the base plate 13 located on the support base 17 'with the - new - molds 14 located thereon and implements it on the drum surface.
  • the piston-cylinder units 32, 33 in turn come into action and press the clamping pieces 30 against the base plate 13, with which this is fixed on the drum 10.
  • the previously mentioned water trough 22 has the task of ensuring that the new lower molds 14 cannot dry out during their intermediate storage in the endless conveyor 17.
  • a water spray device can of course also be arranged on or next to the endless conveyor 17.
  • the gripper arm 19 of the transfer device 18 is to be designed such that it is like pliers, such that it is also able to grasp base plates 15 and remove them from the press ram and transfer them to an empty support base, or conversely to lift a base plate 15 from a support base and to the lower forehead of the press ram. If the base plate 16 is held on the press ram in a similar manner as the base plates 13 on the drum 10, then care must be taken that the gripper arm 19 already holds the base plate before the piston-cylinder units release the base plate via clamping pieces or for as long holds until the clamping pieces have fixed the base plate to the press ram.
  • the upper mold exchange tool can also have a trolley that can be moved under the press ram.
  • the endless conveyor 17 is first loaded with six base plates 13 and an exchange of the lower molds 14 is carried out in the manner described.
  • the endless conveyor is then unloaded and loaded with, for example, five base plates 16, which are then replaced individually at certain time intervals. As soon as an exchange of the five base plates 16 has taken place, the conveyor is loaded again with six base plates 13 for the exchange of the lower molds 14.
  • the exchange time can be carried out according to direct observation, but can also be carried out automatically. For example, time-based guidelines for the exchange times can be given based on experience. Another possibility is to use a counter that triggers the exchange of the lower molds after a different, namely higher number of pressing operations. It is most expedient, however, to continuously scan the press nip and, when the - usual - increase in the stroke of the press ram is no longer sufficient, to trigger the exchange process automatically. In any case, the entire exchange process for upper and lower molds, possibly with the exception of loading and unloading the endless conveyor, can be carried out fully automatically with a program control, and in an extremely short time.
  • the application of the invention is of course not applied to the turret press shown with six drum surfaces, each carrying two lower molds and a press die lower mold carrying two upper molds, but is suitable for single-field presses and multi-field presses, each with two, three or more molds .
