- each of the connector elements comprises a central contact, of pin and socket type respectively, capable of cooperating with the central contact of the other element during connection, one of the elements comprising an external earth contact in form of socket, the external wall of which comprises an annular groove of concave profile, the other connector element comprising an external ground contact comprising a socket with radial elasticity and a body in which a cavity is made in which a rod is housed and retained annular elastic, of open contour, comprising radial projections, capable of engaging in the annular groove of the first connector element during the axial approximation of the two connector elements, and a peripheral unlocking sleeve capable of sliding along the second element connector and having an annular wall intended to come into contact with said j elastic wave and push the latter into said cavity so as to release it from the groove of the first connector element.
- the elastic ring consists of a cut strip of elastic material comprising a plurality of spaced projections having a curved surface, the annular cavity intended to house and retain the ring having two inclined walls, one produced by machining the body of the corresponding connector element, the other part of a ring crimped at the end of said body. Additional means, such as an annular tab, are also provided for retaining the rod in the body cavity.
- the cavity intended to accommodate and retain the elastic ring is produced in the body of the second connector element at a relatively large radial distance from the elastic sleeve of the ground contact of this second connector element to allow the sleeve of the first connector element to be housed in an annular space provided between said elastic socket said cavity housing the elastic ring. This notably increases the space requirement in the radial direction of the connector and therefore its outside diameter.

- annular cavity of the body of the second connector element no longer needs to have two inclined walls, a single inclined wall being sufficient to ensure guidance of the end of one of the inclined branches of the annular ring when unlocking and, in addition, no additional holding element is necessary to retain the ring in the corresponding cavity in the disassembled position of the connector.
- a coaxial connector according to the invention consists of a first connector element generally designated by 1 and a second connector element generally designated by 2.
- the first connector element 1 is arranged as a male element and comprises a central pin-shaped contact 3, an external ground contact in the form of a socket 4 and an insulating sleeve 5.

- the sleeve 9 has a radial elasticity by the presence, in a known manner, of longitudinal slots extending from its end, this end 16 being furthermore chamfered and being disposed inside the annular cavity 12.
- the connector element 2 further comprises an insulator 17 between the central contact 8 and the external contact, and an annular elastic ring 18 of substantially V-shaped section with truncated tip.

- the diameter of the annular wall 24 of the sleeve 23 corresponds substantially to the diameter of the elastic sleeve 9, so that the chamfered ends 16 of the sleeve, and 25 of the annular wall, lie substantially opposite one another on either side of the branches 21 and 22 of the elastic ring 18.
- annular rod 18 held in the groove 6 is positioned axially between the ends of the sleeve 9 and of the annular wall 24 of the unlocking sleeve 23.
- the annular ring 18 remains held in the groove 6 by being wedged between the right side wall (in the drawing) of the groove 6 and the wall inclined 14 of part 11 of the body.
- the unlocking sleeve is pushed back in the direction of the arrow A in FIG. 3.
- the chamfer 25 of the annular wall 24 cooperates with the inclined branch 21 of the rod 18 and move the rod 18 away from the groove 6.
- the two elements of the connector are disconnected.
- the connector illustrated in FIG. 5 differs only from that of FIGS. 1 to 3 in that the body 11 ′ of the external ground contact of the second connector element 2 is produced in one piece and no longer by two assembled parts 10 and 11.
- This embodiment makes it possible to further reduce the space requirement in the radial direction of the second connector element and therefore its outside diameter.
