Definitions
- Ladders with anti-fall device are safety ladders comprising, in the middle of the bars, an insurance support generally constituted by a longitudinal rail along which a trowel can circulate connected by a fairly short link to a harness coated by the user.
- the ououlisseau is designed so that in the event of the beginning of a fall, it locks in the rail and retains the user.
- ladders of this type can be used with special access conditions, for example because they lead to dangerous areas or prohibited to unauthorized persons. It is therefore advisable to equip them with means of blocking their access which can only be lifted by authorized persons having the appropriate body to carry out this lifting (key, code, card, etc.).
- the means of condemnation or the means capable of forcing the security of the individual must not be an obstacle to the course of the ladder in the opposite direction, which must be as free as possible, also for reasons of security. Indeed, the ladder in question can constitute an emergency exit or serve as such.
- the present invention intends to provide a simple solution making it possible to satisfy these requirements in the form of a device, the different variants of which make it possible to provide an answer adapted to the different degrees of security or of access prohibition which one chooses to satisfy. or which result from the application of current regulations
- the invention relates to a rail safety ladder for receiving a ooulisseau connected to a harness comprising a plurality of superposed rungs and a continuous rail extending along the ladder perpendicularly * to the rungs, and which comprises at least one panel articulated by one of its longitudinal sides to a support connected laterally to the ladder, means for locking the panel in the folded position on the ladder and its means for operating said locking means comprising a control member arranged along the lower part of the rail under the panel and actuated by the ⁇ oulisseau harness as it passes through the part of the rail fitted with the control member.
- the panel includes elastic return means tending to move it away from the ladder around its articulation.
- the ladder comprises additional locking means for the panel in the folded position with manual actuation at least for their release.
- the ladder comprises a second panel articulated around a fixed lateral axis parallel to an upright of the ladder and on the same side as the articulation axis of the first panel, movable between a folded position on the ladder in which it covers the first panel and an open position in which it discovers the ladder and the first panel, locking means, with manual control at least for their release, being provided to keep the second panel folded down on the ladder.
- the ladder comprises return means for the second panel in the folded position, the effect of which is greater than that of the abovementioned return means tending to separate the first panel from the ladder.
- the means for locking the second panel in these two positions can advantageously consist of the deadbolt of a single lock secured to the second panel, cooperating with one or the other of two fixed strikes provided in positions adequate to receive this bolt.
- This bolt can be a half-cough bolt without bias surface.
- the first panel is articulated on the second panel around an axis close to the fixed lateral axis so as to move with the second panel along a trajectory whose projection on the plane of the scale n ' is not zero
- the means for locking the first panel in the folded position being constituted by at least two fingers carried by the first panel, one of them being engaged behind a fixed stop when the two panels are folded down on the ladder, the other being engaged behind another fixed stop when alone, the first panel is folded down, the second panel being removed from the ladder, the opening of the second panel freeing the first finger from its stop and engaging the second finger behind the corresponding stop.
- the second finger is in the form of a U-bolt coupled to the control member actuated by the passage of the slide, while the locking means of the second panel are arranged between the first and the second panel, and that the first locking finger is constituted by the latch bolt of a lock coupled to a linkage extending substantially vertically behind the front of the first panel, up to the vicinity of the upper edge of the second panel when it is folded down with the first panel on the ladder, where this linkage is connected to a latch actuation pedal in the direction of release of the finger.
- FIG. 3 is a schematic detail view of the control means for releasing the locking of the security panel - Figure 4 illustrates a second embodiment of the invention using two separate panels
- FIG. 8 is the diagrammatic illustration of a second alternative embodiment of this pedal control
- FIG. 9 is the diagrammatic illustration of a third alternative embodiment of this pedal control.
- - And Figure 10 is a view of a particular embodiment of this pedal.
- a ladder 1 provided with a central safety rail 2 s extending perpendicular to the rungs 3, in the middle part of the latter, all along the ladder.
- this rail begins at a certain height from the ground A to facilitate the introduction of a not shown hatch connected to a harness, also not shown, which the user of the ladder must wear.
- user wears the harness first and as the ⁇ ulisseau is "relatively close to the harness, the link between them being relatively short (of the order of 15 to 20 centimeters), the place of introduction of the ououlisseau in the rail
- -S is approximately at the height of a man's chest to avoid contortions which would be a disadvantage with regard to the incentive to use the safety harness.
- the invention provides ⁇ e known device with means making it practically compulsory to wear a harness to access the bars of the ladder other than the first few.
- a first simple embodiment of these means is shown in Figure 1. They consist of a door or a panel 4 hinged to a support connected to one of the uprights of the ladder around hinges or the like. In a preferred embodiment, the joint will be achieved by the hinges 5 to spring the effect of which tends to move the panel 4 of the êt.-
- the panel 4 is at an altitude of at least H 'to a height of a man, so that he can deviate from the ladder without risk of the user being struck.
- a stop .6 engaged behind a locking finger 7 which can be retracted.
- This finger can be constituted by a small bar sliding in vertical guides 8a and 8b, against the effect of a spring tending to keep it engaged in the two guides, under the action of a traction cable.
- This cable is connected to an actuating mechanism which is represented diagrammatically under the reference 10. It may be, inter alia other embodiments, (see FIG. 3) of a bent lever 11, articulated around a fixed axis 12 , one of the ends of the lever protruding inside the rail 2, so as to be moved when the ououlisseau passes through the rail.
- a lock 13, 14 for locking the panel 4 in the folded position can be put in place on the panel and a fixed part of the ladder. . Access to the ladder is therefore only possible to authorized personnel with the lock key. It is understood that the lock will, in this simple embodiment, at the lower level of the panel to be accessible by the user before he has introduced the ououlisseau in the rail. This last operation will release the panel.
- This first embodiment may be suitable for satisfying a certain requirement of conviction which, in certain cases, may not be sufficient. Indeed, when the ladder is used, the panel, by the hinges, remains separated from the bars, so that the ladder is accessible not only to unauthorized people, but also to people who are not in a situation of security.
- Figure 4 shows an embodiment which is a solution to this question. In this figure, we find the elements already described with the same references. It will be noted that, in this case also, the panel 4 is urged in the direction of its distance from the scale around the articulation 5. A second panel 15 comes to cover the panel 4, around a lateral articulation 16, by example along the upright of the ladder carrying the articulation 5.
- the panel 15 is, however, biased in the direction of its folding down on the ladder under a force greater than that, contrary which tends to spread the panel 4.
- the elastic folding mechanism of the panel 15 includes, possibly, in known manner, a delay and timer device, which, after the user has moved away from this panel, gives him time to place the slide in the rail and to start climbing the rungs before falling back onto the ladder, carrying with it the panel 4.
- This panel 15 has a lock 17 which can be of different types, depending on the desired locking. Thus, this lock can it comprise only one deadbolt 18 which is operable by an ⁇ le (or an operating square), on both sides of the panel.
- the panel can be retained in the folded position when this bolt cooperates with a fixed latch 19, and in the separated position, against its return mechanism, by another fixed latch not shown capable of receiving this same latch.
- the lock can also include a latch bolt 20, so as to automatically lock at the end of its return to the ladder 1. This automatic locking after folding has the advantage of preventing access behind the last user and ensure the automatic locking of the ladder after use.
- the panel 15 can advantageously be provided with at least one receptacle 15a, itself condemnable, to contain the personal protective equipment (hatch, harness, etc.)
- the stop 6 of the panel 4 must also be produced in the form of a latch bolt, in order to be able to retract behind the finger 7 when the panel 4 folds down driven by the panel 15 .
- this t-shaped stopper is desired for the rapid return position of the panel 4.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 The solution to this problem, illustrated by FIGS. 5 and 6, comprises elements already described with the same references.
- the panel 4 is articulated at 5 on the panel 15, in the vicinity of the articulation 16.
- the panel has two locking fingers 21a and 21b, drawn in the figures at the level of a lateral edge 2a and 2b that has the rail 2.
- the panel 15 is held in the folded position by a latch (or a lock 22), disposed between the panel 15 and the panel 4.
- ⁇ and axis drives to the left the panel 4, without ⁇ elui- ⁇ i being able to depart from the scale, ⁇ ar the length of the fingers 21a and 21b is such that the finger 21b is found housed under the wing 2b of the rail before the finger 21a has been able to leave the wing 2a.
- the panel 15 is therefore e ⁇ arté and allows the user to introduce the ⁇ ulissèau of his harness in the rail 2, which comprises the device 10 for controlling the release of the retaining stop of the panel 4.
- the finger 21b is produced, like the stop 6, in the form of a latch bolt, while the wing 2b of the rail is in fact constituted like the finger 7 of FIG. 1 (retractable keeper).
- the panel 15 being e ⁇ arté, the ououlissé inserted in the rail, the release of the panel 4 is then possible, ⁇ ar moreover, the finger 21a is released from the wing 2a due to the translation of the panel 4 to the left of the figure , during the rotation of the panel 15.
- the panel 4 pivots around the articulation 5 above the head of the user, under the effect of the hinges at spring and is recalled ⁇ against the inner fa ⁇ e of the panel 15 by locking on the latter thanks to the latch bolt of the lock 22 for coupling the two panels to one another (position marked in phantom in Figure 6 ).
- the locking finger 21b passes beyond the wing 2b of the rail while the finger 21a meets the wing 2a of the rail.
- the finger 21a is also shaped like a latch bolt, that is to say which can be erased when the panels are folded down on the ladder. The lock is then in place and the next user is forced, first to operate * the lock 22 to unlock the access, then to introduce the harness slide to release the ladder from the grip of the panel 4.
- FIG 7 there is shown schematically actuating means of the finger 21a shaped in a U-bolt.
- This finger is guided horizontally in a guide secured to the panel 4, not shown, so as to be able to pass the wing 2a of the rail 2.
- a spring 23 recalls the finger in its extended position in disengagement from the rail.
- Part of the bolt has a lumen with two branches: an oblique branch 24, the upper part of which coincides with one of the ends of a horizontal branch 25.
- a vertical linkage 26 slides along the panel 4, possibly showing the effect of a spring of reminder not shown, which tends to go up the linkage, this last bearing a finger 27 engaged in the above-mentioned slot 24, 25.
- FIG. 8 there is shown another embodiment of the control of the opening of the whole of the condemnation by means of a linkage actuated by the user descending the ladder.
- This embodiment is more robust and more resistant to burglary attempts than the embodiment of FIG. 7.
- the panel 15 is locked in the folded position no longer on the panel 4, as before, but on a structure fixed carrying a latch 19, by means of a latch bolt 20.
- This latch can be actuated normally by a key and by a linkage 26, which by the finger 27 cooperating with the bran ⁇ he 24 of the light 25, causes the retracting the bolt when it is moved down.
- a lever 40 articulated to the linkage 26 by one of its ends and to the panel 15 by its middle part, makes it possible to transmit the reverse movement from that of the linkage to a pusher 41 which cooperates with the bolt 21a locking the panel 4 on the rail 2.
- the pusher 41 carries a lateral finger 42 which is housed in a V-shaped opening 43, so that the elevation of the finger 42 causes the bolt 21a to retract.
- the bolt is slidably mounted relative to the panel 4 in a structure which is not shown.
- the linkage is slidably mounted relative to the panel 15 and can rotate with it around the axis 16.
- FIG 9 there is shown an alternative embodiment which is a simplification of the double panel device, in which the two panels are articulated around a common axis 5, 16.
- the locking of the panel 4 on the fixed structure is ensured by a sort of ⁇ ro ⁇ het 44 articulated around a horizontal axis parallel to the panel 4, on the rail 2, which comes ⁇ hevau ⁇ her the upper edge of the panel 4 when ⁇ e last is folded ⁇ against the ladder to retain it in ⁇ ette folded position.
- FIG. 9 " A particular embodiment of this pedal is shown in FIG. 9 " .
- the linkage 26 is slidably mounted on the panel 4, and carries, articulated at its end, a rod 28 of a pedal 29, the upper part of which is in sole shape 30.
- This pedal is inclined on the rod 28, so that the sole 30 is sloping towards the ladder and downwards, by a spring 31 which presses it against a stop 32 of the panel 4.
- the panel 15 has an upper return 15b in the direction of the ladder, which is provided with a groove 33 opening into an elliptical opening 34.
- the section of this opening corresponds to the section by the return plane 15b of the pedal rod part 28a , cylindrical, of larger diameter than the rod part 28 for coupling the pedal to the linkage 26.
- This rod part 28a constitutes a shoulder 35 which projects above the edges of the groove 33, when the linkage is in the high position and when the pedal is resting on the stop 32. It is therefore it is impossible to depress the pedal without first pushing it outwards, that is to say moving it away from the ladder. The inclination of the sole naturally leads the user to do so.
- the rod portion 28a of large diameter is opposite the orifice 34, the insertion is then possible and the bolt 21a escapes from the wing of the rail 2.
- the movement of the foot started to depress the pedal (movement towards the rear), is extended to pivot the assembly of the panels around the articulation 16.
- the timed rajapel means of the panel 15 retain the assembly the time necessary for the user to descend the last bars of the ladder .
- the operation from the bottom of the panel 15 alone is allowed by the notch 33 which lets pass the linkage 28 of the sole.
- This é ⁇ han ⁇ rure. will be of sufficient width to take into account the start of the lateral movement of the panel 4 at the start of the opening of the panel 15 (see the movement in Figures 5 and 6). In the ⁇ as of FIG. 8, this link is no longer necessary since the linkage 26 is integral with the panel 15.
- the insurance device to which the user is connected is always described as being a rail. It goes without saying, however, that the invention is not limited to this embodiment, and that any other insurance device may be suitable.
- a heald consisting of a simple metal bar on which the ⁇ culisseau can slide, or even a cable cooperating with a suitable ououlisseau, could enter the device according to the invention.
- the control unit for unlocking the panel will be installed and adapted to the particular ououlisseau along these means, in their lower part.
