le panneau intérieur soit déploie par rapport au panneau extérieur, la main courante et les premier et deuxième montants sont repliés de chaque côté de la porte de manière à être disposé le long du panneau intérieur en recouvrant le bord adjacent du panneau extérieur. Lorsqu'on déplie le panneau intérieur, on applique une force à chaque premier montant afin que celui-ci se redresse;
- La figure 1 représente une coupe verticale à travers une porte coulissante emboîtable suivant l'invention;
- la figure 2 est une vue en élévation de la porte représentée à la figure 1 vue de l'intérieur du véhicule;
- la figure 3 est une vue latérale en élévation de la porte représentée aux figures 1 et 2;
Emergency door for railway vehicles
The present invention relates to a door
serving as an emergency door in public rail vehicles.
The difficulties arising in the case of a
door serving as an emergency door in such vehicles resides in the fact that the floor of the vehicle is
quite high above the ground and that, in certain places, the space available for entry and exit is very limited, for example in trenches or narrow tunnels. In addition, the door must meet the requirements
and safety specifications both in use
normal and in an emergency such as in the event of a fire or collision, these requirements include the possibility for persons using the door to reach the ground without difficulty and without waiting for outside assistance as well as features Door
such that a high output speed is obtained
safe.
The object of the invention is to provide a
door which overcomes the above difficulties and which
or of an improved design.
The present invention aims to provide a sliding nestable door intended for railway vehicles, a door which can slide in normal use, in a guidance system from which the door can be released during
in an emergency so as to allow the door to pivot outwards from the body of the vehicle by forming
an exit ramp, the door having an external panel which is mounted by means of hinges adjacent to a transverse lower edge of the panel
and an inner panel which covers the outer panel and which is hinged thereto adjacent to a transverse upper edge of the outer panel, the assembly being such that during emergency use of the door, the outer panel can pivot substantially around from its lower transverse edge towards the outside of the edge of the vehicle and that the interior panel can pivot away from the exterior panel to extend contiguously therewith, the exterior panel providing a first part of the ramp connected to a second part of the ramp made up
by the interior panel, while leading towards the latter.
Note that when using the door, the interior panel initially covers the exterior panel when the latter pivots outward.
In a suitable deployed position, the interior panel can undergo a pivoting or deployment movement, relative to the exterior panel.
Preferably, the door comprises means intended to regulate the speed of deployment of the exterior panel. These means may include a rotation brake around which a flexible belt is wound, the end of the belt being fixed to the external panel so that said flexible belt is unrolled at an adjustable speed, when the external and internal panels are deployed. The rotation brake can consist of a hydraulic shock absorber assembled with a fixed element of the vehicle, said element being disposed adjacent to the door. The setting of
the deployment speed ensures that there is no sudden load or high stress acting on
the different parts articulated during deployment.
Another preferred characteristic of the present invention consists in that a railing system is erected during the deployment movement of the interior panel with respect to the exterior panel. The railing system has a handrail on each side of the ramp. The opposite ends of each handrail are hinged, respectively, to a first
and to a second upright, the first upright being articulated on the exterior panel and the second upright being articulated on the interior panel. The system
railing is designed so that before that
the inner panel is deployed relative to the outer panel, the handrail and the first and second uprights are folded on each side of the door so as to be arranged along the inner panel covering the adjacent edge of the outer panel. When the interior panel is unfolded, a force is applied to each first upright so that it straightens;
this movement is transmitted in the joints to the
handrail and the second upright so that it straightens up by raising the handrail. The force exerted
on each first upright is applied to it by a connection corresponding to a main support extending between a fixed element of the vehicle and the exterior panel. The interior panel may include
blocking means which prevent the deployment of the railing system before the interior panel is
unfolded in relation to the exterior panel.
The main support can include a pair
flexible belts each having a fixed length to adjust the maximum deployment of the outer panel and, therefore, the inclination of the first part
of the ramp and the second contiguous part of the ramp.
The articulation between the interior and exterior panels may include means making it possible to adjust the speed of deployment of the interior panel relative to the exterior panel and / or to avoid the appearance of heavy loads or constraints during the deployment movement.
An important aspect of the present invention is that the weight of the exterior and interior panels is partially used to develop the forces necessary for deployment. However, given the large loads that can be developed, it is essential to carefully control deployment during the descent and deployment of the panels.
As the vehicle door plays the role of a sliding sliding door, the external panel is intended to be moved towards the outside of the structure by suitable means in accordance with a sliding movement in a guide device.
The present invention will be described in more detail, only by way of example, with reference to the appended figures in which:
- Figure 1 shows a vertical section through a sliding sliding door according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is an elevational view of the door shown in Figure 1 viewed from inside the vehicle;
- Figure 3 is a side elevational view of the door shown in Figures 1 and 2;
- Figure 4 is a side elevational view of the door in an intermediate use position; and
- Figure 5 is a side elevational view showing the door in its end use position.
The door shown in the accompanying figures comprises an outer panel 1 and an inner panel 2 hinged along their adjacent transverse upper edges. The door has a shape and a configuration to adapt to an opening in a rail vehicle body, external panel 1 engaging in a flexible joint 4 extending around the edge of the opening when the door is closed.
The door is of the sliding and nestable type
and is mounted so that it can slide laterally with respect to the vehicle body between the closed position and an open position by means of devices
guide on upper and lower bearings 5 and 6, adapting to respective upper and lower raceways, 7 and 8.
According to the present invention, the door can also be used as an emergency exit.
For this purpose, the guide device on the upper bearing can be detached from the raceway 7 allowing the door to tilt outwards.
moving away from the door frame under control
first adjustment means 9, the interior panel 2 being able to be unfolded relative to the exterior panel 1 under the control of second adjustment means 10, by providing an outlet ramp composed of the adjacent exterior and interior panels. The door also includes a bodyguard system 11 which stands during the deployment movement of the interior panel.
The guide device on the upper bearing
5 comprises a roller 12 mounted at one end of an arm
13 so as to be able to rotate, the other end of said arm 13 being articulated on the inner face of the outer panel. A connecting rod 14 acts between the arm 13 and a lever 15 in order to maintain the arm 13 in a position in which the roller 12 is engaged in the element
in inverted U 7. The lever 15 can be actuated manually to lower the arm 13 by means of
the connecting rod 14, in order to disengage the roller 12 from the element 7 and in order to allow the use of the door as an emergency exit.
The lower rolling guide device 6 comprises a set of rollers 16 mounted on a support 17 so as to be able to rotate and adapt to the rolling race 8 in the form of an I. A base plate 18 fixed to the lower transverse edge of the exterior panel 1
is articulated in 19 on the support 17 in order to allow
tilting of the door towards the outside of the vehicle body when the guide device on the upper bearing 5 has been released from the raceway 7.
A striker plate 20 is fixed respectively on each side of the inner face of the outer panel; a corresponding closure element 21
(Figure 1 shows only one closing element
of the pair of such elements) engages in said
strike plate 20 in order to keep the door in the closed position. A closing element 21 is a
integral part of an unlocking lever 22 which can be actuated manually and which is mounted on an adjacent part of the vehicle body, for example a lateral upright, by means of a mounting plate 23.
The rotation of the lever 22 acts simultaneously on the closing element 21 and on the other closing element 21
via a Bowden 24 cable. The other
closure element 21 can also be actuated independently of element 21 forming an integral part of lever 22, by means of a release lever (not shown) manually actuated and mounted on an adjacent part of the vehicle body, for example an upright side, by means of a mounting plate. Thus, in the event that the cable 24 fails, the two closing elements 21 can be actuated independently to open the door. The closing mechanism is enveloped by corresponding panels 25 (only one of which is shown in FIG. 1) fixed to the body of the vehicle on each side of the door and the release levers can be actuated through a corresponding opening 26 arranged in each sign.
A handle 27 mounted outside the vehicle below the lower raceway 8 is connected to the lever 22 by a cable 28 so that the lever 22 can be actuated so
to act on the closing element 21 in order to open the door. Therefore, the door can be opened from inside or outside the vehicle in normal use,
namely as a sliding sliding door.
The interior and exterior panels are connected by a retaining device 29. This is articulated on the interior panel 2 and comprises a rod (not shown) extending through the interior panels. and ending in a head (not shown) which is housed in an opening (not shown) made in the outer panel. One end of a cable 30 is connected to the closing device 29 and the other end is connected to the lever 15 by means of a pin 31 so that by operating the lever
15 in order to disengage the guide element 5 from the raceway 7, the retaining device 29 is simultaneously tilted and its head is withdrawn, as by a spring, out of the opening of the exterior panel to allow the deployment of the interior panel relative to the exterior panel.
The pin 31 can be removed to detach the end of the cable 30 from the handle 15 so that the manipulation of the handle does not activate the retaining device 29.
The railing system 11 comprises a first corresponding post 32 fixed to each side of the exterior panel by means of a pivot 33 and a second corresponding post 34 fixed to each side of the interior panel by means of a pivot 35, one hand currents 36 extending between, respectively, the first and second uprights, being articulated thereon at each end.
A flexible support belt 37 extends on each side of the exterior panel towards an element 38 fixed to an upper rail 39 passing through the opening of the vehicle body. Each strap 37 has a relatively short connecting strap 37a connected
to the first upright on the same side of the exterior panel. One of the belts 37 has a loop engaging in a hook 40 fixed to the handrail 36.
In the folded position, that is to say when the inner panel covers the outer panel and is fixed thereto, the first and second uprights, 32 and 34,
and the handrail 36, arranged on each side of the door, extend along the opposite lateral edges of the interior panels and are held against the exterior panel 1 by corresponding lugs 41 fixed to the interior panel 2 and adapting to the corresponding handrail 36. The legs 41 prevent the railing system 11 from standing up before the inner panel 2 is unfolded relative to the
exterior panel.
The belt 37 adjusts the angle of inclination of the exterior panel and therefore of the ramp in use.
In the folded position, a corresponding part of each belt 37 is held between the first upright 32 and the handrail 36 on the same side of the door so that, when the outer panel 1 pivots around the joint 19 and when the door falls under the control of the first adjustment means 9, the outer panel falls in a substantially horizontal position. At the same time, the anchoring of the loop in the hook 40 allows the interior panel 2 to tilt around the joint 3 and the free transverse edge of the interior panel is raised to a position such that the operator can easily take the inner panel 2 to unfold it relative to the outer panel 1.
During the deployment movement of the inner panel, the part of each belt, which was previously held, is released to allow the tilting of the outer panel in its final position and the connection straps 37a cause the railing system to straighten.
The first adjustment means 9 comprises a damping rotation brake 42 on which is wound
a flexible belt 43. The brake 42 is fixed to the upper rail 39 adjacent to one of the elements 38. The belt 43 passes through guide rings 37b arranged on the adjacent support belt 37 and the free end is fixed to the exterior panel adjacent to the joint 3.
The second adjustment means 10 comprises a progressive damper 44, a ball 45 and a flexible belt 46. One end of the damper 44 is articulated on the external panel 1 and the other end is connected to one end of the connecting rod 45.
The other end of the connecting rod 45 is articulated concentrically with the joint 3. The belt
46 is connected to the interior panel 2 and to the connecting rod 45 so that, when the interior panel is unfolded, the load of the latter is transmitted through the belt 46 thus causing the ascent of the connecting rod 45 under the damped and braked control of shock absorber 44.
In the folded position of the door, the second control means 10 is folded and is disposed along the end of the handrail 36.
The power supply circuit
of the vehicle comprises a microswitch 47 arranged on
the vehicle body adjacent to the door.
The microswitch 47 is kept in the closed position when the door is closed, but if the door is inadvertently opened for normal sliding movement or for use as an emergency exit, the microswitch opens, cuts the power to the vehicle engines and activates the braking system to stop the vehicle. In addition, an alarm light or siren can be activated in the driver's cabin to indicate that the door
has been opened.
The operation of the door as a sliding door is as follows: Starting from the position shown in FIG. 1, the lever 22 is actuated
to release the closing elements 21. Paths
bearing 7 and 8 have rounded ends of
so that the door is moved slightly outward relative to the vehicle by the elements of
guide 5, 6 which follow these rounded parts on which the door slides laterally to reach the open position. By closing the door, these rounded ends ensure that the door moves towards the interior of the vehicle to reach the closed position and to obtain an effective seal between the exterior panel 1 and the seal 4. In order to facilitate the opening and door closing, a pair of handles
48 is mounted on the interior panel. When the
door is used as an emergency exit, the handles 48 are located on the reverse or below the ramp and do not present a danger to people who use the ramp.
The operation of the door as an emergency exit is as follows: Starting from the position shown in FIG. 1, the lever 22 is actuated
to release the closing elements. Then actuate the lever 15 to simultaneously release the
upper roller guide 5 of the raceway 7 and the retainer 29. The door is then pushed towards the outside of the vehicle until it passes above the center on which it falls under the control of the brake damping 32 to reach the intermediate position in which the outer panel is horizontal. The interior panel is simultaneously slightly raised by anchoring the hook 40 of the handrail 36 in the loop of the support strap 37. The loop of the ring 40 is released and the interior panel 2 rises until that it also passes the center and falls under the control of the shock absorber 44.
When the inner panel rises, as shown in Figure 4, the first uprights 32 remain along the adjacent edges of the outer panel 1 and the second uprights
34 as well as the handrail remain along the adjacent edges of the interior panel 2. When the interior panel falls under the effect of the shock absorber 44, the retained length of each support strap is released.
37, thus allowing the outer panel 1 to fall into its final position and the connection belts
37a straighten the first uprights 32 which, in turn, straighten the corresponding second uprights 34 and the handrail 36. In the fully deployed position of Figure 5, the exterior and interior panels extend contiguously to form the ramp
exit equipped with a railing system on each side.
The door described above is particularly advantageous for underground railway vehicles which run most of the time in tunnels. In the event of an accident in a tunnel, passengers cannot leave the vehicle quickly through the normal side doors or are even prevented from leaving through the stalled doors or because of the proximity of the tunnel walls. Thus, the door according to the present invention can be placed at each end of these vehicles, so that, in the event of an accident, the door can be opened by providing
an exit ramp on which the passengers can pass quickly and surely, the railing system 11 and the support straps 37 canceling any danger that a passenger falls from the edge of the ramp. Another advantage resulting from the location of said door at the ends of the vehicle is that the height between the articulation 19 and the rails is substantially constant, that is why the length of the support belts 37 can be predetermined. so that in use, the free transverse edge
of the inner panel 2 fits the rails or the floor between the rails.
A second shock absorber 42 can be provided, the free end of the corresponding belt 43 being connected to the other side of the exterior panel.
In addition, the shock absorber 42 and the belt 43 can be replaced by any other suitable control means for adjusting the descent speed.
of the exterior panel. Similarly, the shock absorber
44 may be replaced by any other suitable means,
for example a rotation damper articulated on the outer panel 1 and coupled with a linear damper of the kind with articulated lead screw which is connected
at the connecting rod 45.
In another embodiment, a torsion bar system can be housed near joint 3,
the torsion bar being preloaded in the folded position of the door so that by releasing the torsion bar system, for example by a latch, the inner panel is pushed back from the outer panel
and deployment is automatic.
In addition, the railing system can only include a single railing composed of the first and second uprights connected by a handrail on one side of the exterior panel only. It is also possible to provide only one support belt 37.
Finally, the faces of the interior panels
and exteriors that form the main surface of the ramp may have a special surface, for example an adhesion or non-slip surface.
