Abstract

A safety apparatus includes a safety device and a centrifugal force speed governor for preventing overspeed conditions of an elevator car in both the downward direction and the upward direction. A bracket attached to the elevator car slidably retains a shaft at right angle to a guide rail attached to an elevator shaft wall. A U-shaped frame is attached to an end of the shaft and rotatably carries a running wheel. A compression spring extends over the shaft between the bracket and the frame to bias the running wheel against the web of the guide rail. On each side of the running wheel, a pair of release levers are rotatably supported to rotate during travel of the car in normal operation. In response to an overspeed condition, the release levers pivot into engagement with a pair of stationary ratchet wheels which are connected with a pair of actuating levers. The ratchet wheels are rotated by the running wheel which movement rotates the actuating levers. The actuating levers each move a release arm and one of the levers is connected to an actuating rod, which in turn is in connected to a release arm of another safety device on the car. The release arms extend into a wedge box of the safety device to actuate wedge-shaped jaws to engage the guide rail. For resetting the safety apparatus, the elevator car is restarted after a safety stop in the opposite direction of travel.

Description

The invention relates to a safety device with a speed limiter for elevators arranged on a car, which has a wheel driven by a guide rail and supported by a U-shaped frame connected to the car by means of a shaft, on which a release mechanism based on the centrifugal force principle is arranged , which actuates safety chocks of the safety gear if the cabin speed is too high.

From the patent US-A-4 662 481, a safety device with a speed limiter arranged on an elevator car is known which prevents excessive speeds of the elevator car when traveling downhill. The speed limiter essentially consists of a spring cylinder which is rotatably mounted on the elevator car in the direction of travel and which rests on a support at the non-supported end. At the end of the cylinder piston a fork-shaped frame is arranged which carries a roller cylinder at its ends. One end of the fork-shaped frame is connected to the safety gear by means of an operating rod. The rotatably mounted roller cylinder has a groove on the circumference corresponding in cross section to the profile of the free leg of the guide rail. A force emanating from the spring cylinder presses the roller cylinder on its groove onto the free leg of the guide rail in such a way that the path covered by the elevator car is rolled off the roller cylinder during normal operation. One located inside the roller cylinder Trigger mechanism with centrifugal weights monitors the rotation speed of the roller cylinder, which is proportional to the cabin speed. If the cabin is overspeed in the downward direction, the release mechanism blocks the rolling cylinder, causing it to perform an upward relative movement caused by frictional forces between the groove and the guide rail. The actuation of the safety device triggered by the actuating rod is largely identical to the actuation of the safety device triggered by a limiter cable.

The release mechanism arranged in the interior of the roll cylinder essentially consists of a pair of weights which are biased by a spring and rotate with the roll cylinder. With increasing circumferential speed, the weights move radially outwards due to centrifugal forces until they hook with their hook-shaped ends on teeth of an internal cylinder which is fixed relative to the roller cylinder.

A disadvantage of the known device lies in the complicated mechanical structure of the trigger mechanism arranged inside the rolling cylinder, which causes high manufacturing and assembly costs. Another disadvantage of the known device is the large masses to be moved in the event of a fault and the associated inertia of the entire safety device. In addition, you can only rely on the speed limiter if there is sufficient friction between the guide rail and the roller cylinder, which is only ensured with periodically cleaned guide rails. On the other hand, a breakage of a spring holding the weights, which would have been possible for decades of operation, would immediately lead to incorrect triggering and blocking of the safe cabin in the shaft.

The published patent application EP-A-0 279 144 discloses a safety brake with a rotational direction in each case, a brake ring with a brake lining, a cam, a toothed ring with teeth and a two-armed lever, on which a roller and a pawl are arranged at one end. The brake ring, cam disc and gear ring are attached to the shaft to be monitored. A release spring engaging the lever presses the roller onto the cam disc. The teeth of one toothed ring are directed opposite to the teeth of the other toothed ring. When a predetermined speed of the shaft is exceeded, both rollers are thrown away from the cams against the force of the release springs and the pawl which is effective for the respective direction of rotation engages in a tooth of the toothed ring. This is stopped suddenly and the brake pad causes the brake ring and thus the shaft to brake slowly. The non-effective pawl on the other side slides ineffectively over the teeth and has no possibility to snap into place.

A disadvantage of the known device lies in the mechanically complicated and complex design of the triggering device. In addition, speed limiters with such release devices would react much too sluggishly because of the slow braking of the shaft. Safety devices must be triggered suddenly for the safety of the passengers, which would only be possible with a fixed connection to the barrier ring.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, achieves the object of avoiding the disadvantages of the known device and of designing a safety device with a speed limiter arranged on the cabin in a mechanically simple and reliable manner such that overspeeds of the cabin in the downward direction and in the upward direction are avoidable.

The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that the speed limiter can be arranged independently of the direction of travel and therefore close to the safety gear, that only a few moving parts are involved in the triggering process, and that due to the simple mechanical structure, a complete factory assembly is possible, which makes any on-site assembly unnecessary, that a complete factory adjustment of the safety gear and the speed limiter can be realized with the cabin on which they are arranged and that the adjustment work can be carried out with simple means.

Zur Rücksetzung der Sicherheitseinrichtung wird die Aufzugskabine A nach einem Störfall der Störrichtung entgegengesetzt angefahren.1 to 6, 1 denotes a centrifugal speed limiter, which cooperates with a safety device 2 to prevent overspeeds of an elevator car A which are independent of the direction of travel. The first leg 17 ends with a centrifugal weight 19 that moves radially depending on the rotational speed, and a pawl 20 is arranged at the end of the second leg 18 in the event of a malfunction engages in one of the notches 21 arranged on the locking ring 11, as a result of which this is set into a rotary movement. A pair of release levers 10 is connected in an articulated manner by means of a compensating member 22, which transfers the biasing force generated by a spring (not shown) from one release lever 10 to the other release lever 10. A first arm 23 of the actuating lever 12 arranged on a wheel axle 24 has at the free end a bolt 25 which engages in an elongated slot 26 arranged on the speed limiter end of the release arm 13.
