- EP-A-0 081 048 describes a drain fitting inserted into a drain hole in a sanitary apparatus, in which the plunger head also projects into the sanitary apparatus in the open position.
- the disadvantage of the plunger head protruding into the sanitary apparatus given the known drain fittings is that when the sanitary apparatus is cleaned by wiping the basin, the plunger head forms an obstacle which inhibits simple cleaning.
- the drain fitting which generally consists of chromed or differently colored parts, forms an optical break in the design of the overall object; this applies in particular to the plunger head and the sealing collar of the drain cup.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of improving a generic waste set in such a way that cleaning of the sanitary apparatus, in particular in the region of its drain hole, is facilitated and can be carried out effectively and the optical design of the waste set inserted in the drain hole is improved.
- the invention includes the basic idea that the upper edge region of the drain cup, which is designed as a seat, is so deeply inserted into the wall of the apparatus in the drain hole that the surface of the plunger head forms a plane with the upper edge of the drain hole in its open position and in the closed position of the drain fitting the plunger head is lowered by the amount of its displaceability relative to the upper edge of the drain hole.

- the plunger head drops by the amount of displaceability of the plunger head until it rests on the upper edge region of the drain cup, which is countersunk in the drain hole, as a sealing collar, the dimensions of the plunger head and drain cup on the one hand and the upper diameter of the drain hole in conjunction with the wall thickness of the sanitary apparatuses, on the other hand, are coordinated with one another in such a way that when the plunger is open there is a sufficient annular gap for the outflow of the water.
- the diameter of the plunger head is at least as large as the largest diameter of the upper edge region of the drain goblet, the plunger head covers the upper edge region or the sealing collar of the drain goblet both in the open and in the closed position, so that there is an optical unit in the top view of the sanitary apparatus.
- the drain cup can be chrome-plated in a conventional design and can therefore be used as a relatively inexpensive mass-produced item.
- the arrangement of the drain fitting according to the invention means an improvement in the appearance not only with regard to harmonious lines but also with regard to the overall view, because now the plunger head made of the same material, it fits into the structure optically clean only by leaving the annular gap for the water drainage.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drain fitting of a sanitary apparatus, such as a sink, wash basin, bath tub or the like) with a drain cup held in a drain hole, in which a plunger consisting of a guide element and a plunger head as a closure member for the drain hole can be moved longitudinally via a plunger rod, whereby the upper edge area of the drain cup forms a sealing collar for the plunger head in its closed position, and the diameter of the plunger head is at least as large as the largest diameter of the upper edge area of the drain cup.
A waste set with the aforementioned features results from FR-A-2 600 692; the drain fitting described therein without assignment to a sanitary apparatus has a plunger head which can be displaced between a closed position and an open position with respect to the upper edge region of the drain bowl, the diameter of the plunger head being equal to or larger than the diameter of the upper edge area of the drain bowl. There thus the water inlet opening with the drain set open is arranged peripherally between the plunger head and the underlying edge area of the drain goblet, the plunger head must protrude by a corresponding amount over the edge area of the drain goblet to ensure sufficient water flow. This results in the problem that when a known drain fitting is inserted into the drain hole of a sanitary apparatus such as a sink, wash basin, bath tub or the like, the plunger head in the open position of the drain fitting projects into the sanitary apparatus via the upper edge region of the drain goblet.
In der EP-A-0 081 048 ist eine in ein Ablaufloch eines sanitären Apparates eingesetzte Ablaufgarnitur beschrieben, bei welcher der Plungerkopf in der Öffnungsstellung ebenfalls in den sanitären Apparat hineinragt.EP-A-0 081 048 describes a drain fitting inserted into a drain hole in a sanitary apparatus, in which the plunger head also projects into the sanitary apparatus in the open position.
The disadvantage of the plunger head protruding into the sanitary apparatus given the known drain fittings is that when the sanitary apparatus is cleaned by wiping the basin, the plunger head forms an obstacle which inhibits simple cleaning.
Another disadvantage of the known arrangement is that, in particular when the sanitary apparatus is made of colored ceramic material, the drain fitting, which generally consists of chromed or differently colored parts, forms an optical break in the design of the overall object; this applies in particular to the plunger head and the sealing collar of the drain cup.
The invention is therefore based on the object of improving a generic waste set in such a way that cleaning of the sanitary apparatus, in particular in the region of its drain hole, is facilitated and can be carried out effectively and the optical design of the waste set inserted in the drain hole is improved.
The solution to this problem results from the main claim; advantageous refinements and developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
The invention includes the basic idea that the upper edge region of the drain cup, which is designed as a seat, is so deeply inserted into the wall of the apparatus in the drain hole that the surface of the plunger head forms a plane with the upper edge of the drain hole in its open position and in the closed position of the drain fitting the plunger head is lowered by the amount of its displaceability relative to the upper edge of the drain hole.
From DE-GM 84 11 981, a drain set for a thin-walled sink made of metal or Kuriststoff is already known, in which the surface of the plastering head in its open position forms a plane with the upper edge of the drain hole. For this purpose, however, the sealing collar cooperating with the plunger head in the closed position of the set is moved into the interior of the drain cup, so that when the drain set is closed, the plunger head is immersed in the drain cup until it rests on a sealing collar specially formed in the drain cup. This has the disadvantage that the goblet must have a special and complicated shape, because on the one hand it has an upper holder in the drain hole of the sink and on the other hand it has to have an additional sealing design in its interior to interact with the plunger head. Another disadvantage is that the drain goblet is clearly visible both in the open, but especially in the closed position of the drain fitting, so that there is an optical break in the design of the sanitary apparatus.
In contrast, the design according to the invention has the advantage that the plunger in the Open position no longer protrudes into the basin of the sanitary apparatus and is a hindrance, but forms a line with the basin contour so that the basin can be wiped out easily and without obstruction. In the closed state, the plunger head drops by the amount of displaceability of the plunger head until it rests on the upper edge region of the drain cup, which is countersunk in the drain hole, as a sealing collar, the dimensions of the plunger head and drain cup on the one hand and the upper diameter of the drain hole in conjunction with the wall thickness of the sanitary apparatuses, on the other hand, are coordinated with one another in such a way that when the plunger is open there is a sufficient annular gap for the outflow of the water. Since at the same time according to the invention the diameter of the plunger head is at least as large as the largest diameter of the upper edge region of the drain goblet, the plunger head covers the upper edge region or the sealing collar of the drain goblet both in the open and in the closed position, so that there is an optical unit in the top view of the sanitary apparatus. This means that the drain cup can be chrome-plated in a conventional design and can therefore be used as a relatively inexpensive mass-produced item.
Insofar as the plunger head is made of the same material as the sanitary apparatus according to one embodiment of the invention, the arrangement of the drain fitting according to the invention means an improvement in the appearance not only with regard to harmonious lines but also with regard to the overall view, because now the plunger head made of the same material, it fits into the structure optically clean only by leaving the annular gap for the water drainage.
It is advantageous according to the invention to adapt the surface of the plunger head to the lines of the basin contour of the sanitary apparatus in the region of the drain hole, so that the surface of the plunger head need not necessarily be flat. If the surface of the plunger head is convex, as can often be seen from the prior art, care must be taken that the uppermost partial surface of the plunger head fits into the basin level. The invention can also be advantageously implemented if the plunger head is designed as a disk with parallel planes in a manner already resulting from FR 1 296 040; finally, the surface of the plunger head can, according to one embodiment of the invention, also be designed to be concave as a continuation of the lines of the pool wall in the area of the drain fitting, as is basically the case in GB 426 851.
In the implementation of the invention, it is advantageous if the outer edge of the plunger head and the upper edge of the drain hole are designed in accordance with the outer contour or the inner contour of the upper edge of the basin of the sanitary apparatus, so that there is an approximately parallel top view Lines of the assigned boundary lines of the plunger head and pool edge result, whereby the overall visual impression is improved.
The invention can also be advantageously realized in that the plunger head corresponding to the shape, color and material of the invention is designed as a separate component and can be connected to the head of a conventional plunger, with only the upper edge of the drainage cup forming the sealing collar in its Position has to take into account the overall dimension of the plunger head composed of the conventional plunger head and the plunger head according to the invention. The plunger head according to the invention is expediently to be connected to the conventional plunger head in a releasable snap-in connection.
- FIG. 1 shows a wash basin in section with the drain set open,
- FIG. 2 shows the subject of FIG. 1 with the plunger closed,
- Figure 3 shows a washstand in a plan view.
As can be seen in detail from FIG. 1, the surface of the
