In the current and conventional design, each wash basin has a water overflow, which prevents water from overflowing over the wash basin edge when the drain valve is closed.
Since the upper opening of the overflow on the otherwise smooth glaze surface is very annoying, some models try with some effort to move it to hidden places, such as. B. in the soap dish.
Another disadvantage of the known overflow in washbasins is that the overflow channel is cast together with the washbasin in one piece, which makes the manufacture of the washbasin more complicated and requires additional work. In addition, the known overflow channels cannot be cleaned.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of the known overflows of wash basins by completely eliminating the conventional overflow, which simplifies the manufacture of wash basins and avoids the opening in the glaze surface, which is particularly troublesome in luxury wash basins.
This goal is achieved with a combined overflow and drain valve for wash basins, vanities, bidet, bath tub or the like from e.g. B. ceramic or plastic, in which according to the invention the overflow consists of a riser pipe and a down pipe having a pipe loop, both ends of which open into the drain pipe, one end opening above and the other end below the seal of the drain valve arranged in the drain pipe and the lower vertex of the pipe loop lies in the level of the overflow level.
The invention makes it possible, for. B. a ceramic wash basin without overflow opening and overflow channel and the desired water overflow only later by mounting the combined with the drain valve acting as an overflow pipe loop that outside the actual sink, z. B. is arranged on the rear side to provide. This simplifies the manufacture of the sanitary items mentioned above, which may also consist of materials other than ceramic or plastic, and improves their appearance. The cleaning of the new overflow is also possible, either by z. B. rise cleaning liquid in the riser pipe and let it stand for some time or the pipe loop is dismantled and cleaned.
According to a further feature of the invention, the pipe loop has a vent connection protruding beyond its upper apex. In this way, a lifting effect and thus an unwanted emptying of the sanitary piece is avoided.
In the drawings, an example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown; Fig. 1 shows a partial cut-away view of a wash basin in section with the overflow according to the invention, Fig. 2 shows a corresponding side view of the wash basin in section and Fig. 3 shows the valve insert with seal in the plan.
The valve installed in the washstand --10-- consists of the upper part --2--, the lower part --6-- with the seal --4-- and the valve insert --3--. The cover --15-- sits on the valve, in which openings --14-- are provided through which water can flow into the valve chamber.
One end of a pipe loop --1-- opens into the valve chamber, i.e. above the seal --5-- of the valve insert --3--, the other end opens below the seal --5-- and its lower apex - 16-- lies in the level of the desired wash basin overflow level.
If water is now let into the washstand or the washbasin --10--, it rises in the washstand and thus also in the riser pipe --11-- the pipe loop communicating with it, since the valve insert --3-- with the rubber seal - -5-- seals to the drain and the air to be displaced in the riser pipe --11-- can escape through the opening --13--. If the water supply remains, the water in the wash basin only rises until the water level has reached the connection from the riser pipe --11-- to the down pipe --12-- of the pipe loop, because now the water in the down pipe runs off.
If the water supply is very strong, the difference in height between the riser pipe --11 and down pipe --12-- causes a suction effect that accelerates the water drain. If the water supply is now stopped, the suction effect remains until the water level

edge of the cross-connection from the riser pipe --11-- to the down pipe --12-- has reached again and thus the water column in the down pipe is torn off by means of the air flowing in through the vent connection --13-- and the normal water level in the washstand remains.
If the washbasin is now to be emptied, the lever --7--, which is mounted movably in the rubber seal --9-- and the union nut --8-- as with conventional fittings, is pressed down via a linkage, whereby the valve insert --3-- with the seal --5-- is lifted up and the water from the bowl through the openings --14-- the cover --15-- and the drain valve together with the one in the riser pipe - 11-- standing water can drain off.
