Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for cleaning containers, in particular containers for dangerous liquids, in which the containers with the pouring opening turned down are conveyed intermittently from endless chain belts revolving in their reversal points around horizontal axes at the treatment stations located one behind the other at equal intervals.
  • None of the known cleaning devices can be used to clean the stackable containers for dangerous liquids, which are made of plastic, in such a way that the cleaned containers meet the applicable and expected safety conditions and regulations.
  • the containers for dangerous liquids on the market are difficult or impossible to empty due to their shape, or they are not emptied with the necessary care. It is therefore necessary to ensure complete and safe emptying of the residues before cleaning the inner walls, and the liquid residues obtained must be collected and disposed of with certainty.
  • the cleaning liquid must also be completely removed before the container is dried out with air.
  • the device must pick up the containers fed to it manually or automatically and dispense them again after their treatment.
  • the device must also be easily convertible to the different container shapes and sizes and allow a large throughput per time.
  • the device shown in Figure 1 has an elongated frame about 1.5 m high, at the ends of which two horizontal axes 2 are provided with sprockets 3, on which an endless chain belt 4 rotates for the transport of the containers 5 to be cleaned.
  • This chain belt 4 consists of two laterally arranged link chains 6 running on the chain wheels 3, which are connected to one another at intervals of approximately the usual width of the containers 5 with cross bars 7.
  • the containers for dangerous liquids usually have a cuboid shape with rounded corners and edges, usually a rectangular plan view.
  • the pouring opening 9 must be provided in the middle of the upper edge of one of the narrow sides of the container 10 in order to enable complete emptying of the container 5.
  • the masks 8 are designed in such a way that the attached container 5 with its larger broad side 11 is positioned transversely to the chain belt 4 and its conveying direction and also obliquely with its edge having the pouring opening 9 downwards, in order to allow the contained in the container 5 to leak and drip To enable residual or cleaning liquid.
  • the transverse and inclined position of the container 5 also enables a long stroke of nozzle heads 12, 13, which can be inserted obliquely from below by a lance 14 from a working cylinder 15 and from the outside of the frame 1 into the pouring opening 9 of the container 5.
  • the masks 8 are articulated on their front side in the direction of travel to a cross bar 7 of the chain belt 4 and they are fastened on the back to the subsequent cross bar with elongated holes in order to ensure the movement during the rotation around the chain wheels 3 and thereby compensate for the shortening of the distances between the cross bars 7.
  • the mask 8 lies on the side intended for the pouring opening 9 of the container 5 parallel to the link chain 6, the one on the left in the drawing, directly on the two cross bars 7 carrying it, on its other side with the other link chain 6 'on a bearing block 16, which results in the inclination of the container 5. This is held in the mask 8 by the frame 17.
  • the mask 8 In the area of the pouring opening 9 of the container 5, the mask 8 has an opening 18 for the access of the nozzle heads 12, 13.
  • a hold-down device 20 that can be pressed by a working cylinder 19 can engage on the bottom of the container 5 and press it down in the mask 8.
  • the containers 5 are on the left in Figure 1 of the frame 1 from the chain belt 4 upwards rotating masks 8 added. They can be positioned either manually or automatically by a conveyor belt.
  • the containers 5 first pass through the draining stations 21 and 22, under which there is a collecting trough 23 in which the liquid emptying from the containers 5 is collected.
  • a swiveling and vibrating device can be provided in the last draining station 22, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • the mask 8 'on the left side in the drawing of FIG. 3 must be pivotable upwards in a joint 24 along the link chain 6 and rest loosely on the bearing block 16.
  • a vibrator 25 is provided on the right side in the drawing.
  • This vibrator 25 consists of a laterally on the frame 1 obliquely inward working cylinder 26 which can extend and retract a piston rod 27, at the upper end of which a head 28 is provided made of elastomeric material.
  • one arm 29a is provided on the masks 8, on which the head 28 engages.
  • the container 5 can either be pivoted about the joint 24 and / or shaken at a low amplitude corresponding to the viscosity of the residual liquid to be removed.
  • an elastic buffer 31 is provided on a fixed arm 30, against which the upper corner of the container 5 strikes and the prevents the container 5 from tipping out during the pivoting movement.
  • the pivoting and shaking movement of the vibrator 25 takes place not only against the weight of the container 5, but above all against the action of a spring 32 which is tensioned between the mask 8 and the bearing block 16. If such a vibrator 25 is provided, all masks 8, as described above, must be pivotable about the joint 24 against the force of the spring 32.
  • the containers 5 After the last draining station or the station 22 provided with the above vibrating device, the containers 5 enter the actual cleaning station 34, in which the nozzle head 13 is inserted into it through its pouring opening 9.
  • the nozzle head 13 is arranged at the end of the lance 14, which is pushed into the container 5 by the working cylinder 15 and withdrawn after the cleaning process has ended and is supplied to the nozzle head 13 under pressure by the cleaning liquid.
  • the nozzle head 13 has nozzle openings through which the entire inner wall of the container 5 with the cleaning liquid is sprayed out.
  • a further nozzle arrangement 35 is provided on the lance 14, which is located just above the pouring opening 9 when the lance 14 moves into the container 5 and has obliquely downwardly directed nozzle openings in order to reach the difficult to access inner shoulder areas on both sides of the pouring opening 9 of the container 5 .
  • a nozzle ring 36 is provided on the lance 14, which is connected to the supply line for the cleaning liquid in the lance 14 with a pipeline 37 and which, when the lance 14 is extended, lies outside around the threaded connector 38 of the pouring opening 9.
  • a collecting bowl 39 is provided which is attached to the lance 14 and which is connected by a hose line 40 to a collecting basin 41 into which the cleaning liquid flowing back is drawn off by a pump 42.
  • a draining station 44 which can also be provided with a vibrator 25 like station 22.
  • the residues of the cleaning liquid are emptied into a collecting trough 45, which in turn is connected to the collecting container 41 via a pipe 46.
  • the last station is the drying station 47, in which, as in the cleaning station, a nozzle head 13 can be inserted into the pouring opening 9 of the container 5 by a lance 14 moved by a working cylinder 15. Through this lance 14 and the nozzles of the nozzle head 13, hot compressed air is blown into the container 5, again the critical spaces of the container shoulders being particularly taken into account by the nozzle arrangement.
  • a collecting bowl 39 with a hose line 40 to the collecting container 41 is provided in order to discharge the residues of the cleaning liquid that are still dripping.
  • the containers 5 are either removed by hand at the right end of the frame 1 in the drawing of FIG. 1 during the downward movement of the chain belt 4 or are released onto a conveyor belt when the masks 8 are tilted.
  • the masks 8 consist of a base plate 29 on which the frame 17, which consists of parts 48, 49, 59, 51 which can be displaced in elongated holes, stands. These parts can be adjusted to the respective container shape and secured with wing screws 52, 53, 54.
  • the entire system is electronically controlled in its individual functions and movements.
  • the control panel is shown in Figure 1 on the left side of the frame 1 at 55.
