Description
The invention relates to a method for laboratory dyeing e.g. Carpet patterns by applying a defined amount of color to the visible side of the pattern and transporting this pattern into a laboratory steamer in which the pattern is moved.
In order to avoid rejects in the continuous dyeing production of web goods, it is customary to try out the respective dyeing at least on a laboratory scale. For this purpose, a sample of the web material is moved over a paint applicator and then placed in the damper for color fixation. The color is only to be assessed after the fixing process. In order to achieve comparable production conditions in laboratory coloring, it is important to use the same application method and to record the exact amount of paint applied. The sample should also be steamed if possible in such a way that comparable production conditions arise. However, since a laboratory continuous dyeing system is too expensive, compromise solutions have so far been used. The paint was applied according to the pour-on principle, but the sample lay on an endless belt, which has the disadvantage that the pole e.g. was not open when dyeing carpet. The sample was then shifted into the damper by hand. The best laboratory steamer has so far been equipped with a needle feed, on the needles of which the sample was attached. Due to this fastening of the sample, it could now be damped vertically extending - as is usual in the production loop damper. In addition, the sample piece could also be moved throughout the steaming time, moving up and down again and again. An overview of laboratory dyeing procedures and devices can be found in the book "Int. Lexicon of Textile Finishing, 1st Progress Volume 1975-1977" by Fischer-Bobsien, Laumann-Verlag 1978, page 247.
It has been shown time and again that this laboratory staining process not enough. False continuity staining could not be avoided, which was solely due to the fact that these laboratory staining conditions are also not transferable to the continuity process.
The invention has for its object to develop a method and an apparatus for performing this method with which the same conditions can be achieved on the laboratory color scale as in continuous production, without the need for an expensive continuous laboratory dyeing system to be set up in the laboratory.
On the basis of the method mentioned at the beginning, according to the invention, in order to achieve the object, it is provided that the sample piece is connected to form a hose or stocking open at least on one side. This sample piece is then to be kept in constant motion both during the dyeing job, during transport into the damper and in the damper itself. The advantage of this measure is clear. Due to the idea of not coloring the sample flat, but connecting it to form a tube and then rotating this tube continuously during the subsequent treatments, this means that a continuous dyeing can be carried out on this finite sample.
The basic idea of producing a tube from the sample and the resulting continuous movement of this tube is easiest to carry out if the tube is pushed laterally onto a driven rotating inking roller and the rotating inking roller is moved to a steaming position together with the sample after the paint application and also rotates while being steamed. As a result, the damper, in which a steaming time of 3-5 minutes must be observed, can be kept small, although continuous damping is modeled therein.
The device for performing this method consists in a simple manner of a lever, at the upper free end of one Dyeing roller rotatably mounted and which can be moved from the color position into the damping position. In the steaming position, a steaming hood is then expediently held lowerable over the dyeing roller. Such a damper is advantageously small in its outer dimensions. It can always be under steam without loss of steam and can be quickly made available for a new color fixing process.
To easily slide the hose, the dyeing roller is overhung on the lever and a dyeing knife is arranged above the dyeing roller in the ink position of the lever, which is connected to an inking device that works according to the pouring principle.
The lever is advantageously designed as a toggle lever and held in a swivel joint at the end opposite the dyeing roller. The toggle lever should enclose an angle that is not much more than 90 °, so that when the toggle lever is arranged in the damping position, the lower leg is arranged approximately horizontally, on the other hand, the leg of the lever with the coloring roller plumb into the bottom Damper hood protrudes.
In order to start the dyeing process, it is expedient to activate the entire device by an automatically operating actuating device. The entire dye-steaming process can thus run automatically. All you need to do is press a button to apply the paint to the sample, pivot the toggle to the dye position, and steam fix. The damping time for damping a pattern should also be able to be set on the actuating device, so that after this damping time the damper hood is automatically raised again to enable the toggle lever to pivot back into the dyeing position. Before a new dyeing process, only the sample has to be exchanged.
It has turned out to be particularly expedient that the ink application device is cleaned before a new dyeing process. This cleaning can also be carried out automatically by the actuating device without wasting time during steaming.
Since the dyeing process should be completed in a short time in the method according to the invention or the device considered to be advantageous for carrying out this method in order to prevent over-dyeing, it is necessary to abruptly end the ink application. For this purpose, it is advantageous to slide a liquor collecting plate that extends over the working width of the paint applicator below the squeegee. This is possible after the squeegee or the entire ink head is swiveled upwards, because only then is there enough space for the fleet tray to be pushed forward. This liquor collecting tray is not only advantageous for ending a paint application process, but also for carrying out the mentioned cleaning process of the inking device, so that the water necessary for cleaning does not run off in the direction of the dyeing roller, but can be drained off via a separate branching device.
The separation of the inking device and dyeing roller by the liquor collecting plate is also advantageous for determining the exact amount of ink applied and possibly also the color. For this purpose, the ink liquor flows back normally over the squeegee, but not over the inking roller, but over the liquor collecting plate. This possible cycle can continue until the desired dyeing conditions are met. Then the collecting tray is pulled back and at the same time the ink head is lowered.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown. This example is intended to explain further inventive details in detail.
The inking device is designated by 1 overall with the
The
A damper is also arranged on a
In the case of a dyeing process, a tube is placed over the
Such a coloring process can be carried out fully automatically. For this purpose, an
