Definitions

  • the invention relates to a two-part hinge, of which a first hinge part can be fastened to a flap for covering an opening, preferably a furniture part, and a second hinge part to a soffit delimiting the opening, the first hinge part and the second hinge part being articulated and coupled to one another the first hinge part has an at least one first latching element having an arcuate bracket and on the second hinge part at least one spring-loaded second latching element.
  • a locking device which consists of at least two further fitting parts, is used to lock the flap. If, in addition, the flap is to be held in a raised, lowered, or uncovered position which allows access to the opening, exhibitors are required which require at least two further fittings.
  • numerous fitting parts must therefore be attached to the flap and the reveal in alignment with one another, which requires time-consuming operations. Furthermore, the storage of a large number of hardware parts is complex.
  • a door hinge with an integrated door holder which consists of a first hinge half and a second hinge half connected to it by means of a hinge pin.
  • the door holder has at least one spring-loaded latching element fastened to one hinge half and a latching arm formed on the other hinge half, having latching recesses and interacting with the latching member, and an end stop, the axis of rotation of the door holder and the hinge falling on one another.
  • the spring-loaded locking element is rigidly arranged on a hinge half in a housing above the locking level of the locking arm. This hinge is suitable for doors or flaps whose pivot axis is vertical, and consequently the weight of the door or flap has practically no influence on the latching positions of the door.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of reducing the number of fitting parts required for a flap hinged to an opening of a furniture part with tumbler and exhibitor, and thus simplifying the assembly of the flap and reducing the storage effort.
  • the invention provides that the first latching element is a recess in the bracket and the second latching element is a pawl with two lugs falling between two different positions separated by dead center and falling into the recess, the recesses being one with one of the lugs interacting locking stop and a release surface cooperating with the other lug. Since, according to the invention, the functions of the tumbler, the opening and the articulation of the flap on the reveal are integrated in the two hinge parts, the assembly effort and the amount of storage for fittings are significantly reduced. Since the hinge parts can be easily manufactured from plastic or a light metal die-cast, the multifunctional hinge according to the invention is relatively inexpensive.
  • the latch serves as a lock against unintentional opening or closing of the flap.
  • the second hinge part is a molded part which is in one piece with the second hinge plate, in which a rocker is pivotally held as a second locking element via dead center, two shoulders being formed on the bracket, behind which the rocker engages in one of the two end positions of the flap and a hook is formed at a distance from the shoulders, with which the rocker can be moved.
  • the pivotable rocker can then be urged by a spring element of the molded part into one of two angular ranges of its pivoting mobility. These angular ranges can be delimited by opposite projections formed on the molded part be.
  • the rocker suitably has a guide surface with which it rests on the bracket. Two shoulders can then be formed on the bracket, behind which the rocker engages in the closed position or in the opening-releasing position of the flap.
  • the first hinge plate has at least one eye for a hinge pin which is expanded on one side, the bracket being tapered in the area of the hook near the hinge plate by the expansion of the eye.
  • the rocker can be gripped and moved by the hook by means of a short, thereby enabled, displacement of the flap relative to the reveal, and thus the flap can be released.
  • a spring bar is recommended as a spring element, which has a round thickening in the middle that points towards the rocker and is aligned with the swivel axis of the rocker.
  • the hinge designated as a whole by 1, has a flap-side, first hinge plate 40, which is screwed onto the upper, after installation, horizontal edge of a flap 2 and a reveal-side, second hinge plate 10, which on the upper reveal, which delimits an opening in a furniture part, not shown 3 is screwed on.
  • a not shown extends Articulated pin in a manner known per se through aligned bores 42, 44 at the upper end of the first hinge plate 40 and through the bore 12 at the upper end of the second hinge plate 10 inserted into a cutout 46 of the first hinge plate 40.
  • the Hinge pin After mounting the first hinge 1, the Hinge pin horizontal.
  • the flap 2 can thus be pivoted upward about the common axis 4 of the bores 42, 44, 12 in the representation chosen in FIG. 6 to the right from the indicated closed state to release the opening.
  • the first hinge plate 40 has, by virtue of the cutout 46, a substantially U-shaped shape, the two legs 48, 50 of the same design, on the thickened upper ends of which the bores 42 and 44 mentioned are formed, being connected at their base to a solid transverse part 52 .
  • an arc-shaped bracket 54 is formed as a type of exhibitor, which extends upwards from the cross section 52 and whose center of curvature lies in the axis 4.
  • the bracket 54 extends from the transverse part 52 over an arc of approximately 120 °.
  • the thickness and width of the bracket 54 are selected so that a surface with a cross-sectionally U-shaped guide channel 56 is introduced into its surface facing away from the legs 48, 50 and ends from the transverse part 52 just before the free end of the bracket 54.
  • three cup-shaped depressions 60, 62, 64 are made, the shape of which is adapted to the surface of a detent ball to be explained.
  • the lowest depression 60 is located in the immediate vicinity of the cross member 52 and determines the closed position of the flap 2.
  • the uppermost recess 64 determines the most open position of the flap 2, while the intermediate recess 62 enables an approximately half-open position of the flap. It is understood that the depressions 60, 62, 64 are arranged along the one center line of the base 58.
  • the second hinge plate 10 consists essentially of a rectangular plate, the width of which is not greater than the cutout 46 and the height of which corresponds approximately to the depth of the cutout 46. Through bores in the hinge plate 10 (as well as in the legs 48, 50) are not shown, which enable the first hinge plate 40 to be screwed onto the reveal 3 (or the second hinge plate 10). At the lower edge opposite the bore 12, the hinge plate 10 is angled backwards to form a web 14 encompassing the reveal 3. A chamber 16 is formed on the web 14 in the middle of its width, which, as shown, can be open at the free end facing away from the web 14. The chamber 16 is integrally formed on the web by a small, rearward-facing angle.
  • the opposite front and rear side walls 18, 20 of the chamber 16 have similar cutouts 22, 24 just below the web 14, which are dimensioned so that the bracket 54 fits through the cutouts 22, 24 and thus from the web 14 and the side walls of the Chamber 16 is encompassed.
  • the opposite side walls 18, 20 have two opposite, parallel grooves 26, 28 in the vicinity of their lower end, in which a cap 32 closing the lower opening 30 of the chamber 16 can be anchored. From the bottom 33 of the Cap 32 rises a tubular, open pocket 34, in which a spiral spring 36 is embedded. The free end of the spring 36 acts on the open pocket end a locking ball 38 penetrates into the space defined by the cutouts 22, 24.
  • the bracket 54 extends through the chamber 16, specifically through the cutouts 22, 24.
  • the locking ball 38 runs under the influence of the force developed by the spring 36 on the base 58 of the Channel 56 from when the flap 2 pivots about the axis 4.
  • the locking ball 38 on the base 58 when the flap 2 is in the closed position, it finds the lowest depression 60, into which it is pressed by the spring 36.
  • the flap 2 is held in the closed position by this tumbler.
  • the locking ball on the base 58 optionally runs over the recess 62 to the uppermost recess 64, in which the wide-open flap is held in the recess 64 by catching the locking ball 38.
  • the flap 2 assumes an intermediate position when the detent ball 38 is captured in the recess 62. Obviously, the interaction of the locking ball 38 with the recesses 62 and 64 replaces the open holder used previously for flaps.
  • the chamber 16 can be closed by a base from which the pocket 34 receiving the spring 36 is formed.
  • the chamber 16 instead of the chamber 16 to make a blind hole in the web 14 in which the Spring 36 with attached detent ball 38 is accommodated, with lugs 54 encompassing the bracket 54 on both sides being formed on the central section of the web 14 and the channel 56 being formed on the front of the bracket 54.
  • a first embodiment of the two-part hinge is described below in connection with FIG. 7.
  • a chamber 17 is formed obliquely downwards and inwards on the web 15 of the second hinge plate 11 enclosing the reveal 3, the lower open end of which is closed with a cap 31 similarly to the chamber 16.
  • a compression spring 87 is caught in a central bore 83 of the chamber 17, which is supported on the bottom 57 of the chamber 17 and acts on a ball 89 captured in the bore 83.
  • a breakthrough penetrating the chamber 17 is formed as a guide 23 for a bracket 55 near the web 15.
  • a hinge pin 91 is held in the side wall 47 and the side wall running parallel to the latter, about which a pawl 39 can be pivoted.
  • the hinge pin 91 can be rotatably supported in the side walls mentioned and can be fastened non-rotatably with the pawl 39.
  • the pawl 39 has at its end facing the ball 89 two surfaces 35, 37 tapering at an acute angle. As shown, the ball 89 bears against the surface 35. When, as will be explained, the pawl 39 pivots clockwise about the pivot pin 91, the ball 89 comes to bear against the surface 37, a dead center evident during this switching of the pawl 39, namely when the edge connecting the surfaces 35 and 37 lies in the line of action of the compression spring 87 is exceeded.
  • the bore 83 has inclined surfaces 43, 45 which prevent the pawl 39 from moving further to the side.
  • the pawl 39 has, at its end facing away from the compression spring 87, two lugs 27, 29 spaced transversely to the line of action of the compression spring 87, between which the line of action runs and which each have an outwardly facing shoulder 25, on the transition towards the surfaces 43, 45, 35 form.
  • the bracket 55 passing through the guide 23 is formed, the center of curvature of which again lies in the axis 5 of the two hinge plates 11, 41.
  • the bracket 55 which is essentially rectangular in cross section, has a lower recess 63 as a further latching element.
  • the first latching element 61 has a rear stop surface 67 as a locking stop and a front release surface 68 which extend essentially transversely to the bottom of the recess 61, pointing away from the axis 5.
  • the recess 63 accordingly has a front stop surface 69 and a rear release surface 65.
  • the circumferential distance between the stop surface 69 and the release surface 65 is somewhat larger than the circumferential distance of the lugs 29 and 27 of the pawl 39.
  • this hinge is as follows: in the closed state of the flap 2 shown in Figure 7, the pawl 39 is in the position shown with solid lines. The flap 2 cannot be opened because the nose 29 then bears against the stop surface 67 and the pawl 39 cannot move laterally because of the surface 45. The flap 2 thus remains secured against unintentional opening.
  • the nose 27 falls into the recess 63 and comes into contact with the locking surface 69 when the flap 2 is released.
  • the flap 2 then holds automatically open.
  • the flap 2 must be raised still further, so that the nose 29 is pressed against the release surface 65 with the result that the latch tilts over the dead center in the pivoted state shown in solid lines in FIG. 7, so that the Nose 27 can ride over surface 71.
  • the nose 29 falls into the recess 61 behind the locking surface 69.
  • rocker shapes can also be used instead of the pawl 39.
  • a tension spring can be hooked onto the pawl 39, it being possible for a cross slot to receive the joint pin 91 to be provided in the pawl 39. If the hinge pin 91 is located at one end of the transverse slot, the compression spring pulls the pawl 39 into the locking position. If the pawl 39 is displaced over the hinge pin 91, for example by the action of the release surface 69 with the nose 27, that the hinge pin is seated in the other end of the transverse slot, the latch can pivot in the release position when the tension spring is suitably fastened to the pawl.

  • the second hinge plate 100 corresponds to that from the embodiments described above, in that an upper plate section 102 which can be screwed onto the reveal is provided with two spaced-apart and aligned eyes 104 and 106 for a hinge pin, not shown, and one at the lower end the eyes 104, 106 has a web 115 angled in the opposite direction, which underlies the end face of the opening that delimits the opening in the reveal when the second hinge part 100 is screwed onto the reveal.
  • a chamber 117 is integrally formed on the web 115, pointing obliquely downward and inward, the level, removable cover 113 of which is indicated in FIG. 9, but is omitted in FIGS. 8, 10 and 11 for ease of understanding.
  • the main part 111 of the chamber 117 which remains without a cover 113 is a molded part which is in one piece with the plate 102 and the web 115 and has a base plate 120 which is flat to the left (as shown in FIG. 9) on the outside.
