Das hängt von der einwandfreien Unterlage und von der Sorgfalt ab, mit der die Schweißbahn auf die zu verwahrende Fläche aufgebracht worden ist. Mangelhafte Verschweißungen und andere Fehler bei der Verlegung, aber auch unvorhergesehene Einwirkungen während der Nutzung des Gebäudes können zu Gebäudeschäden durch eindringen-des Wasser führen.

Da diese Querverbindungen mit der Längsschweißnaht infolge der ununterbrochenen Haftfläche eine demgemäß ununterbrochene Verschweißung bilden und die Schweißbahnen in der zusammenhängenden Verwahrungshaut mithin an allen vier Kanten miteinander verschweißt sind, kann unterläufiges Wasser nicht entstehen.
