Definitions

  • the invention relates to a military protective helmet with a shell (1) which is resistant to shelling and a strap arrangement (2) which is fixedly connected to the helmet cap (1) at several points (7) as interior equipment and which is approximately horizontal from a normal wearing position of a standing helmet wearer circumferential ring-shaped support band (3) and from a central fastening piece (5) in the helmet (1) radiating outgoing bands (4), the ends of which are firmly connected to the carrier band (3), the band arrangement (2) being made of plastic and forms a carrying cage and all the tapes (3, 4) of the carrying cage (2) have molded knobs (12) pointing towards the helmet cap (1).
  • a known strap arrangement consists of textile straps which are connected to the helmet cap, preferably by riveting, at several, for example six, locations in the region of the annular carrying strap.
  • the purpose of the band arrangement is to keep the skull away from the calotte in order not to transmit the impact energy directly through the calotte to the skull of the helmet wearer in the event of an impact.
  • the contact of the skull with the top of the helmet is only possible when the textile straps have lengthened to a considerable extent, whereby part of the impact energy has been used up. Since the strap arrangement is attached directly to the side of the helmet, side blows can be transmitted directly to the skull of the helmet wearer. Since shots of the helmet dome from all sides are possible and likely in the same way, such band arrangements are not suitable for damping the bombardment energy before transmission to the skull of the helmet wearer for a large number of the bombardment possibilities.
  • GB-1 108 502 discloses an interior for a work safety helmet which consists of elastically flexible strips densely populated with rectangular ribs. Two Y-shaped stripes run from a circumferential headband to the dome shape to two opposite fastening points. A high The density of the shock-absorbing ribs cannot be achieved with this because the bands are relatively wide and a higher number of bands would lead to an excessively large weight of the interior.
  • the well-known interior is not intended for military protective helmets.
  • the invention is based on the object of designing a military protective helmet of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that all-round shock absorption, in particular under the action of a shot, is achieved when using a strap arrangement which enables good ventilation.
  • the band arrangement according to the invention is relatively stable in itself because the ends of the band arrangement are firmly connected to the carrying band. Neither the radial straps nor the carrying strap are attached directly to the helmet cap. Rather, the attachment takes place via the attachment strips that emanate from the straps above the carrying strap.
  • the design of the band arrangement according to the invention enables molded nubs to be present on all sides, which are arranged between the bands and the helmet cap and preferably rest on the inside of the helmet cap.
  • the plastic basket according to the invention thus represents a unitary part which has a shock-absorbing property due to the knobs and is fastened to the helmet by means of the fastening strips.
  • the plastic basket according to the invention therefore has properties of a styrofoam cap on the one hand, and properties on the other a conventional interior for occupational safety helmets, in which the carrier tape is movable relative to the radially extending tapes.
  • the fastening strips emanate from radial strips.
  • the fastening strips have a length that corresponds to approximately half the length of the radial bands.
  • knobs have different heights, two different heights being generally sufficient.
  • the damping effect is initially determined solely by the higher knobs, while a stronger damping effect is also achieved in the subsequent deformation of the lower knobs.
  • the stability of the plastic basket and a uniform damping effect are achieved when two adjacent bands are connected to one another by at least one connecting strip. If eight radially extending bands are provided in a preferred manner, a sufficiently uniform distribution of the knobs, and thus the damping resistance, can be achieved together with the connecting bands.
  • the knobs can preferably have a diameter of about 10 mm. With this dimensioning, a desired damping effect for the strongest possible types of bombardment can be achieved with the lowest possible weight of the carrying cage sieren when the radial bands have approximately the width of the knobs.
  • the knobs can be designed as a hollow cylinder or, if necessary, taper conically towards the helmet in order to achieve a progressive increase in the damping effect.
  • the military protective helmet shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a helmet cap 1, on the inside of which a carrying basket 2 is fastened to form an interior.
  • the carrier basket 2 is made of plastic and consists of an approximately horizontally running, annular carrier band 3 and eight radially running bands 4, which are firmly connected to the carrier band 3, for example by riveting, and are separated from a central, elliptical fastening ring 5 on the Extend the top of the helmet approximately radially.
  • Two radial bands 4 each are connected to each other by a connecting band 5, which are oriented approximately tangentially and open into the radial bands 4 or offset to the outside at about half the length thereof.
  • Two fastening strips 6 extend obliquely backwards from the radial bands to lateral fastening points 7, where they are fastened to the helmet cap 1, for example by riveting.
  • a third attachment point 8 is located in the middle on the back of the helmet.
  • a fastening strip 9 connected to this is bent out of a section 4 ′′ of a radial band 4 ′ that extends backwards in this area, so that the connection of the radial band 4 ′ with the annular carrier band 3 takes place via two lateral strips 4 ′′ ′′ .
  • two obliquely upwardly projecting tabs 10 are formed on the supporting band 3, which have pairs of perforations 11 for fastening a net strip which extend in the longitudinal direction over the helmet and to improve comfort.
  • Both the radial bands 4 and the ring-shaped carrier band 3 have a multiplicity of knobs 12 arranged next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the bands, which are designed as hollow cylinders, as shown in FIG. 2, and which taper conically somewhat upwards.
  • the entire carrying basket 2 thus lies against the inside of the helmet cap 1 via the knobs 12.
