Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a hand-operated discharge device for a double discharge cartridge for two-component compositions, each with a push rod for each cartridge and a feed drive which can be actuated via a hand lever and acts jointly on the push rods.
  • a hand-held device is known from DE-A-3 128 611.
  • the push rods can be actuated by a clamping jaw and a bracket by a hand lever, and a counter bearing is provided for lateral support of the push rods, on which the clamping jaws are pivotally mounted.
  • the feed drive acts directly on each push rod, the clamping jaws act laterally on the push rods with the tendency to bend them, even if counter bearings are provided. With great effort, there is a risk that the feed jams.
  • a manually operated discharge device which has a similar feed mechanism as in DE-A-3 128 611 and additionally discloses a retraction brake for each push rod.
  • the device should be able to use double discharge cartridges of different diameters, even under these conditions, in which different reaction forces occur on the push rods, the push rods should be driven synchronously, so that no change in the volumetric mixing ratios occurs.
  • FIG. 1 shows a first exemplary embodiment of a hand-held device 1 with the handle 2, the trigger 3 and the double cartridge 4, which contains two components in a specific ratio, which are mixed during the discharge process in a so-called upstream static mixer, to which they react chemically and harden or solidify.
  • the two components should be discharged from the cylinders by simultaneously actuating delivery pistons arranged in each cylinder, as a result of which the masses are pressed out through the front-side outlet opening 5 of the static mixer.
  • the double cartridge 4 is not actually the subject of the present invention and is, for example, in EP-A-294 672 of the same applicant has been described in detail.
  • the hand-held device according to the invention is not limited to the operation of such double cartridges, but is particularly suitable for this.
  • the masses to be discharged can be quite viscous, so that relatively high forces have to be exerted in order to discharge them.
  • the ejection pistons 6 located in the cartridges are actuated by the pressure pieces 7 at the ends of the push rods 8. These push rods are driven by the trigger 3 via a lever mechanism and thrust member.
  • the trigger 3 is connected to a rotating piece 9, which is rotatably mounted about axis 10 and is connected to a joint 11, the two parts of which are articulated to one another by an axis 12 and the second joint part 13 of which is connected to a joint piece 15 which can be rotated by pivot pin 14 is.
