Definitions
- the invention relates to an adjusting device for floor care devices, in particular carpet cleaning devices, in the form of a brush vacuum cleaner with a motor-driven brush roller, the brush roller being arranged in a brush attachment facing the floor with rollers and for adapting the brush roller to the present working conditions, such as pile height and brush wear, at least a roller height adjustable for adjusting the brush roller to the floor is arranged, the speed of the brush roller can be detected and a comparison can be made with a set speed for the work phase, and determined deviations as control signals for a motorized height adjustment of the roller of the brush attachment for adjustment to the predetermined speed the brush roller can be generated.
- Brush vacuums are already known in which the brush function is monitored electronically by using the current drawn by the brush drive motor as a measured variable.
- the electronic circuit uses display means to indicate whether the engine is operated with normal load or with a load that exceeds or falls below a predetermined limit value. This indicates whether the brush roller still engages enough in the carpet pile to achieve effective cleaning. If this was not the case, the brush is adjusted accordingly by manually adjusting the rollers or the brush roller itself in order to achieve an optimized setting again.
- the height setting must be constantly changed for effective cleaning. In practice, however, this is only carried out to a limited extent.
- the object of the invention is to improve a generic device with an automatic height adjustment of the brush roller to the existing conditions with little effort and by mechanical detection of the existing factors relatively Comprehensive to take into account in order to enable a good cleaning effect on different coverings and to keep the pushing force of the device low, as well as to take into account the wear of the brush roller used.
- a spring is arranged as a coupling element between the drive and the brush roller, which is matched to a torque for the working phase and between the brush roller and drive corresponding elements in the manner of control disks for receiving control tracks and contacts in such a way are arranged so that when the torque deviates from the set torque a rotation of the control discs is set and control signals are generated for adjusting the height of the roller.
- a constant torque on the brush roller can be adjusted in a simple manner with an optimized cleaning effect, the type of floor to be cleaned, the height of the carpet pile and the degree of wear of the brush roller being taken into account automatically.
- the pushing force is kept low with a good cleaning effect.
- control tracks are formed by electrical contact tracks for raising and lowering on the one control disk, to which a sliding contact on the other control disk is assigned, and an electrically non-conductive between the contact tracks in the position for the predetermined set torque Area is formed.
- the drive for the brush roller is additionally coupled to the control disk via a bolt, the bolt being freely movable in the associated groove of the control disk in the region of the rotation for the actuating signals of the height adjustment, and rotation when the brush roller is blocked the control disc can be adjusted with an assignment of corresponding electrical contacts for electrically switching off the drive.
- the electrical circuit arrangement be preceded by a delay circuit for the switch-on phase of the drive motor.
- a favorable embodiment consists in that a pulley used for driving is designed with its end face at the same time as a control disk.
- a slip clutch is arranged between the pulley and the brush roller as an overload protection. It is provided that the belt pulley receives the slip clutch, a brake drum connected to the brushing roller being arranged and the belt pulley carrying springs connected to brake linings.
- the height-adjustable roller be arranged via an eccentric.
- the height-adjustable roller is arranged over a cranked shaft.
- the brush attachment shown receives a blower motor 1, which simultaneously drives a brush roller 2 via toothed belts 3 and 4.
- the entire brush attachment is supported against the ground by two rear rollers 5 and a front roller 6.
- the roller 6 is arranged adjustable in height, so that the brush roller 2 with its bristles is also arranged adjustable in height and an adaptation to the carpet pile to be processed is carried out.
- a servomotor 7 is arranged, which acts on the roller 6 via a gear 8.
- the roller 6 is mounted on an eccentric 9 in order to bring about a large change in height with small adjusting movements.
- the torque to be transmitted on the brush roller 2 is kept constant and the roller 6 is adjusted accordingly.
- the toothed belt 3, which serves as the drive for the blower motor 1, is guided over a pulley 10 and the drive power of the motor is transmitted with the interposition of a spring 11 which is matched to the predetermined torque for the brush roller 2.
- the further transmission of the drive movement takes place via a control disk 12 which is positively connected to a shaft 13 and carries a belt pinion 14, which in turn drives the brush roller 2 via a belt 4.
- the pulley 10 forms on one end face a control disk 15 with electrical contact tracks 28 and 29, which serve to generate an actuating signal for lowering and raising the roller 6, while an interrupted area 30 between the contact tracks 28, 29 ensures the correct setting of the roller 6 signals.
- the control disk 15 is assigned the control disk 12, which carries a corresponding sliding contact 16 and is assigned to the contact tracks 28 and 29.
- control disk 15 has a further contact track 31, to which a sliding contact 18 of the control disk 12 is assigned, in order to switch off the blower motor 1 when the brush roller 2 is blocked.
- a bolt 19 is additionally arranged on the pulley 10, which engages in a groove 20 of the control disc 12, the groove being dimensioned in accordance with the angle of rotation for the height adjustment.
- control disk 12 In the event of an overload due to blocking of the brush roller 2 or excessive torque, the control disk 12 is turned as far as it will go against the bolt 19, the sliding contact 18 then being on the contact track 31 and the blower motor 1 being switched off.
- the sliding contacts 16 and 18 are connected to corresponding sliding tracks 21, 22, and the signals are taken off via corresponding contacts 23, 24 and, as control signals, are routed to a control circuit.
- the switched-on spring 11 is matched to the torque to be transmitted for an optimized mode of operation of the brush roller 2 and thus keeps the control disks 12, 15 in association with this torque in such a way that the sliding contact 16 is located in the region 30 between the contact tracks 28 and 29 located.
- a delay circuit is integrated in the control so that the device does not switch off in the event of brief torque changes caused by operation, which occur, for example, when there is a change in the direction of movement, in order to ensure perfect operation.
- a slip clutch is switched on parallel to the spring 11 as a coupling element.
- springs 24 are connected to the pulley 10, which are provided with brake pads 25 and transmit the torque of the brush roller 2 to an assigned brake drum 26.
- the bias of the springs 24 is set to a maximum torque.
- the pulley 10 is in turn driven by the drive motor 1 and is connected to the control disk 12 via the spring 11, the spring 11 engaging via an adjustable adjusting disk 32.
- These Setting disc 32 is toothed with the control disc 12 and can be fixed by an adjusting screw 33 after adjustment.
- the spring tension can be corrected and set to a desired manipulated value.
- This setting option is important because the spread of the spring forces can sometimes be greater than the forces on the spring due to different loads on the brush.
- the further drive takes place from the control disk 12 via the slip clutch located here, consisting of spring 24, brake lining 25 and brake drum 26, onto the shaft 13 and the belt pinion 14, from which the brush 8 is driven via a belt 4.
- the angle of rotation of the two control disks 12 and 15 relative to one another was removed for evaluation via sliding tracks 28, 29 and sliding contacts 16, in this variant the angle of rotation is measured without contact.
- magnets 34 and 35 are arranged on the control disks, the angular spacing of which depends on the torque to be transmitted due to the rotation, and alternately excite a sensor 36 arranged between the control disks 12, 15 as a Hall generator, which thereby depicts a pulse-pause ratio , which is evaluated via downstream electronics, such as a microprocessor.
- the resulting control commands are forwarded to the servomotor 7 and transmitted to the actuating roller 6 via the actuating gear 8.
