Description

The present invention relates to a tile for the upper part of a building roof.

Generally, buildings include at least two roof sections connecting at a high line called a ridge. Each roof section is sealed by overlapping the tiles in the lateral direction as well as in the height direction, a row of tiles located at a level overlapping the row of tiles located immediately below.

To make the roofing and waterproofing at the level of the ridge line, it is known to use tiles of substantially semi-cylindrical section, which cover the upper edge of each upper row of roofing tiles of the two roof sections. adjacent to the ridge.

The realization of the ridge does not pose any particular problems in the case of flat tiles since the edges of the ridge tiles bear directly on the upper flat tiles of the two sides of the roof.

It is not the same with the tiles having a part in relief, say tiles with horns.

It should be remembered that, to make a roof panel, the tiles should be positioned relative to each other, both in the width direction and in the height direction to best cover the roof panel considered. It must in fact be taken into account that both the width and the height of a roof panel do not necessarily constitute multiples of the width and of the height of the tiles.

If it is possible with certain types of tiles to carry out a lateral adjustment of the adjacent tiles, it is not always possible to carry out an adjustment of the tiles in the direction of the height, insofar as these are wedged together on the others.

It follows that it is necessary to use between the last row of tiles and the ridge line to the installation of specific tiles, of length adapted to the area remaining uncovered between the last row of tiles and the ridge, these tiles being said 1/4, 1/2 or 1/5 of gauge, the term gauge designating the part of a roof tile which is not covered by another tile.

It is also suitable for ensuring a good seal, avoiding upwelling, as well as the passage of snow under the action of the wind, dispose of elements called closers, which constitute, as it were, transverse barriers, between an element of post and the tile which this element covers. Finally, taking into account the poor sealing obtained with traditional solutions, it is advisable to make a good layout of the frame during the bedding.

The document FR-A-2 525 261 describes a tile for the upper part of the roof, of generally rectangular shape having a central zone in the shape of a horn, delimited on the side of the upper edge of the tile by a surface for connection to a ridge tile, and whose lower edge is provided with a rib, forming a shutter, turned towards the side of the tile taking support on the frame. The two lateral edges of the tile are offset by a value equal to the thickness thereof, including in the portion in the form of a section of cylindrical surface.

Document FR-A-951 081 describes a ridge tile comprising a central part serving to cover the ridge of the frame, from which extend cone-shaped surfaces intended to partially cover the cone-shaped parts of the tiles belonging to the upper row of tiles.

The object of the present invention is to provide a tile for the upper part of the roof which allows the overlapping of the adjacent tile located below it over a variable length, in order to play a role as a header in the upper part of the roof, which allows the laying an ridge tile, and which prevents water from rising between the tile below and itself.

For this purpose, the tile which it relates, of generally rectangular and planar shape having a central zone forming a horn to the profile of the tiles constituting the roof covering which it must come, in which the horn is limited on the side of the upper edge of the roof tile by a connection surface to a ridge roof tile, while the lower transverse edge of the roof tile is provided, at least in its lateral zones, with two heels forming closers, arranged on the side of the roof tile resting on the frame, these two lateral zones of the tile being offset by a value substantially equal to the thickness of the tile, in the direction of the thickness of the tile, including in the portion in the form of a section of cylindrical surface, is characterized in that the two heels of the same tile forming shutters are offset from each other by a value at least equal to the thickness thereof, the heel extending the most lower of the tile being located closer to the center thereof than the heel extending the raised area, and in this that the height of the heel associated with the raised area is greater by a value corresponding to a thickness of tile than the height of the heel extending the lowest area of the tile.

This tile allows, thanks to its adjustment possibilities by a more or less significant overlap of the tile located immediately below to fill the void existing between this tile and the ridge line. The flat shape of the upper part of the roof tile allows perfect support for the ridge tile, while the heels which equip its lower part form shutters which prevent the rise of water or powdery snow under the action of the wind.

In addition, this structure allows a lateral overlap of two adjacent ridge tiles one on the other, as well as a possibility of lateral adjustment.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the longitudinal edge of the lowest part of the tile has a rib facing upwards, while the longitudinal edge of the highest part has a rib facing downwards. This conformation of the tile allows lateral adjustment of the ridge tiles with respect to each other, in order to adapt to the adjustment of the tiles covering the two roof sections disposed on either side of the ridge, it being specified that 'There is also a more or less significant overlap between the heels forming closers of two adjacent tiles, which forms a perfect barrier vis-à-vis the rise of water or powdery snow.

Advantageously, the transverse edge of this tile is provided with an extension in the form of a cylindrical surface sector, with an axis parallel to the transverse edge of the tile, and situated, with respect to the plane of the tile, on the side thereof. coming to bear against the frame.

The portion in the form of a cylindrical surface section is intended to cover the ridge line. There is an overlap of the cylindrical surface sections of two ridge tiles, at the level of the ridge line, the junction between the edge of one of the tiles and the other tile being offset from the high point of the line of ridge. ridge, so that a perfect seal is ensured.

This tile therefore allows the last row of tiles and the ridge to be produced in a single element. The cover in the form of a cylindrical surface section adapts to different roof slopes, and the alignment of the tiles on the two sides of the roof is not necessary. This tile reconstructing the sub-ridge tile, the shutter and the ridge in one element is perfectly waterproof.

  • Figure 1 est une vue en perspective de la partie haute d'une toiture comportant des tuiles de faîtage selon l'invention ;
  • Figure 2 est une vue en perspective et à échelle agrandie d'une tuile de faîtage ;
  • Figures 3 et 4 sont deux vues en coupe de cette toiture respectivement selon les lignes III-III et IV-IV de figure 1 ;
In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing, representing by way of nonlimiting examples, two embodiments of this tile:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the upper part of a roof comprising ridge tiles according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view on an enlarged scale of a ridge tile;
  • Figures 3 and 4 are two sectional views of this roof respectively along lines III-III and IV-IV of Figure 1;
  • Figures 5 to 8 are views corresponding, respectively, to those of Figures 1 to 4, in the case of a sub-ridge tile.

The ridge tile 2 shown in FIG. 2 is more specifically intended for equipping a roof, the covering of which is produced from tiles 3 comprising a flat part 4 and a central part 5 forming a horn. Each ridge tile 2 comprises a part 6 of generally rectangular shape, one of the transverse edges of which is provided with an extension 7 in the form of a cylindrical surface section, the edge 8 of this surface section located on the side opposite to the part 6 being practically in the plane of this part 6. The rectangular part 6 comprises a central zone 9 forming a horn adapted to the horn 5 of the tiles 3. On either side of this horn are arranged two lateral zones 10 and 12 offset one relative to the other by a value corresponding to the thickness of the tile, zone 10 being lower, that is to say located closer to the frame than zone 12. It is note that this difference in level is also found in section 7 in the form of a cylindrical surface. As shown in the drawing, the area 10 is limited at the longitudinal edge of the tile by a rib 13 facing outwards, while the area 12 is limited by a rib 14 facing the inside of the roof.

Finally the transverse edge of the part 6 of the tile opposite to that extended by the cylindrical part 7, is equipped on either side of the horn 9 with two heels 15 and 16 turned on the side of the frame, these two heels 15 and 16 being offset relative to each other, in the direction of the length of the tile by a value at least equal to the thickness thereof. In addition, the heel 15 is less high than the heel 16 by a value equal to the thickness of the tile.

As shown in Figure 3, each ridge tile 2 covers on the one hand largely the ridge line 17, and on the other hand a tile 3 of the last row of tiles. The overlapping of two ridge tiles, as shown in FIG. 3, shows that perfect sealing is obtained by simple overlapping of the parts 7 of two tiles one on the other, regardless of the slope of the roof to be covered.

In this tile, the upper end of the horn 9 is limited by a flat surface 23 located in the same plane as the surface 12, and intended to serve to support an edge 24 of a ridge tile 25. In order to facilitate the axial locking of each sub-ridge tile on the tile disposed immediately below, the tile 22 comprises, formed on either side of the horn 9, on its underside, transverse grooves 26 intended to come to cooperate with transverse ribs 27 formed on the tile 3 disposed immediately below, near the upper edge thereof.

As is apparent from the above, the invention brings a great improvement to the existing technique by providing a ridge tile of simple design making it possible to ensure an excellent waterproofing of the roof, without having to resort to cement joints, nor to specific elements such as drain tiles of different sizes, as well as specific elements forming closers.
