Definitions

  • the device for preventing the backflow of dirty water into the fresh water pipe is designed as a pipe interrupter with always open ventilation openings, is arranged at least 150 mm above the highest possible water level (lowest point of the tub rim) and is preferably installed horizontally for the purpose of saving height, so that water is at the bottom of the tub -Air mixture flows in. It can also be designed as a free outlet with a safety distance of at least 20 mm between the lower edge of the inlet and the highest possible water level (lowest point of the tub edge), which is arranged above the water supply line so that the freely emerging water jet when it enters the water supply line in the manner of a Water jet pump entrains air so that a water-air mixture flows into the tub floor.
  • the water pressure alone creates an air bubble effect which can otherwise only be achieved by expensive electrical auxiliary devices.
  • air In addition to the air carried by the fresh water, it is of course also possible for air to be supplied to the base of the tub by a preferably electrically driven air blower, the air flow of which, according to the invention, is also fed into the tub floor when no water is flowing in.
  • a backflow preventer must be installed in the water supply line between the starting point of the air line and the pipe interrupter or the free outlet, so that the air cannot flow backwards to the pipe interrupter or the free outlet and exit there.
  • the blower air line also requires a non-return flap, which is, however, mostly installed in standard blowers for bathtubs. It is also advisable to draw a loop of the blower air line in a known manner up to the highest possible water level (lowest point of the tub rim) in order to prevent water from entering the blower even if the non-return flap is defective. Low voltage can also be used for safety reasons. If you want to completely avoid an electrical connection, an air blower driven by a water motor can be used according to the invention, the waste water flow of which is led into the overflow line.
  • the automatic system can be supplemented by a timer that switches on the fresh water supply and / or the air supply automatically for a short time after draining the tub with the water drain valve open.
  • At least one water inlet / water outlet combination combined with the parts for the overflow in the usual manner at the head end in the buttocks area of the tub floor. It can be covered with a removable drain strainer located in the tub floor.
  • the water inflow can also be arranged as a circular or U-shaped row of holes around the drain plug.
  • Two closely spaced rows of holes can also be provided in the base of the tub, one of which is for the water inflow, the other for the water outflow.
  • the row of water inlet holes is expediently located outside and a few millimeters higher than the row of water outlet holes, so that the row of water inlet holes can be completely emptied when the tub is drained.
  • the arrangement of the water inflow / drainage combination at the head end in the buttocks area of the tub floor ensures that water flowing in rises in the area of the back and around the body and immediately heats and massages the spinal area. This effect is intensified by the air bubbles flowing in with the fresh water.
  • the water drainage valve For reasons of water saving, it is advantageous to functionally link the water drainage valve to the automatic water level control in such a way that it blocks the water inflow valve - regardless of the water level - when the water drainage valve is open. This eliminates the waste of water. It should be possible to temporarily open the water inflow valve by hand, contrary to the lock by the automatic water level, for example to clean the tub with fresh water when the drain is open or to allow water to be taken in while lying in the tub.
  • An embodiment of the invention is characterized in that from the water inflow / outflow combination on the tub floor, the lines for water inflow and outflow are guided to a tank located next to the tub, preferably arranged under the tub rim, which holds the valve for the water inflow and the valve for contains the water drain.
  • the container extends over the entire tub height, so that its water level communicates with that in the tub, and contains a buoyancy body extending over the entire tub height, the buoyancy body actuating the water inflow valve, which is preferably designed as a diaphragm servo valve, the shutdown point of which is due to the buoyancy force of the Buoyancy body and a this counteracting, adjustable spring force is determined.
  • a purely mechanical diaphragm servo valve is particularly advantageous because, without requiring an electrical connection, it opens and switches off suddenly with only a small actuation force, the occurrence of control vibrations being avoided by the difference in the actuation forces when opening and switching off.
  • the container can also contain a magnetic body floating on the water level, which switches reed contacts arranged along the outside of the container, which are selected by the operating handle, and which switches off the membrane servo valve in the water supply line, which is equipped with an electrical switching coil, when the selected level is reached.
  • This arrangement with reed contacts no longer works fully mechanically, but requires an electrical mains connection or at least battery operation.
  • Two siphons can be placed one behind the other in the water drainage line, one of which is arranged in a known manner under the tub floor, the second under the tank.
  • the water inlet line opens into the water outlet line in front of the first siphon, the overflow line located below the tub rim behind the drain valve in front of the second siphon.
  • the first siphon ensures that air bubbles can only rise into the tub and not into the container, while the second siphon forms the odor trap against the sewage system in a manner known per se.
  • a closed system in the form of a membrane which is acted upon by the water pressure in the tub or a bellows which can act as an automatic water level can also be used as part of the invention Provide the water level in the tub with the force required to actuate the water inlet valve.
  • This closed system has a watertightly sealed switching diaphragm vessel, which is acted upon by the water pressure in the tub, the interior of which acts via an opening in the bottom of the tub, on the water inflow valve, which is preferably designed as a diaphragm servo valve, and closes the valve as soon as the switching diaphragm force counteracts a presettable force the desired water level determining spring.
  • This arrangement has a smaller overall height and is less sensitive to contamination than an open system.
  • the water inflow valve can be actuated in a contactless manner by an external, preferably ring-shaped permanent magnet which is moved by the switching membrane and surrounds a shaft made of non-magnetic material in which an internal soft iron pin acting as a valve cone is movably guided.
  • This design has the great advantage of working smoothly and yet fully mechanically on the diaphragm servo valve without the use of an O-ring ring
  • the switching membrane In a wave shape or to form the wall of the switching membrane vessel in a bellows-like manner.
  • the water inflow valve is connected upstream of a mixer tap with backflow preventer, a mixing thermostat or an electrical temperature-controlled independent of the flow rate
  • Instantaneous water heater with constant, pre-adjustable temperature.
  • the thermostat is the most convenient solution.
  • the instantaneous water heater is the most expensive solution when there is only a cold water connection. It generally requires a three-phase connection.
  • the buttocks area can simultaneously be designed as a standing area for showering, and the tub floor at the foot end can be raised somewhat and designed as an entry aid and seat.
  • An adult can sit here just to take a foot bath.
  • a child can sit there between the raised thighs of an adult taking a full bath.
  • the laying of the water drain in the buttocks area according to the invention creates completely new possibilities for the design of the tub.
  • Fig. 1 shows a section through the bathtub 1 seen from the side with the sanitary fitting for bathtubs according to the invention mounted thereon.
  • the water inflow 2 is arranged on the tub floor and combined with the water outlet 3, which is arranged at the head end in the buttocks area of the tub floor and is covered with a drain strainer 4 located in the tub floor.
  • the lines for water inflow 2 and water outlet 3 are guided to a container 5 arranged next to the tub 1, which has a valve 6 for the water inlet and a valve 7 for the water outlet.
  • a buoyancy body 8 which extends over the entire tub height floats in the container 5. Its buoyancy and the force of a spring 9 counteracting it determine the switching point of the water inflow valve 6, i.e. the water level, upon reaching which the water inlet valve 6 blocks the water inlet.
  • a lever linkage indicated as a functional arrow 10 in FIG. 1 transmits the switching force from the buoyancy body 8 to the water inflow valve 6.
  • the force with which the spring 9 presses the buoyancy body 8 downward is attached to an actuating shaft 11 by an actuating shaft 11 on the actuating shaft 11 Fig. 1, not shown, in Fig. 3 enlarged dashed cam 26 set.
  • first siphon 12 under the tub floor
  • second siphon 13 under the container 5.
  • the water inflow line 2 opens before the first siphon 12, the overflow line 14 behind the drain valve 7 and before the second siphon 13 into the water drain line 3.
  • a spring 16 fulfills the task of blocking the water inlet valve 6 - regardless of the water level - when the water outlet valve 7 is open by forcibly lifting the buoyancy element 8 when the plug 7 is lifted, which then blocks the water inlet valve 6 via the lever linkage 10.
  • the stopper 7 is fastened to a central rod 17 which is guided upwards through a longitudinal bore in the buoyancy body 8 and is actuated there by a second cam disk 18 fastened on the adjusting shaft 11.
  • FIGS. 1 and 3 The overall arrangement is shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 in the tub condition "full”, ie with the plug 7 closed and the spring 9 fully tensioned.
  • the curve cut into the disk 18 detects the pin 20 at the upper end of the central rod 17 and pulls the plug 7 upwards, thus opening the water drain valve 7, simultaneously lifting over the Spring 16 on the buoyancy body 8 and thus blocks the water inlet valve 6. This takes place in the rotation range 180 ° to 270 °.
  • the cam disc 26, which acts on a second pin located behind the pin 20, has a circular design, so that the spring 9 remains relaxed. This is a solution for the operation described in claim 12 is shown.
  • the drawn water level in the bathtub 1 corresponds to the setting "full" on the adjusting shaft 11 with about 11 cm below the tub rim. If a person climbs into the full tub, the water level rises by about 7 cm to the overflow 21, the is designed as a series of horizontal slots that are approx. 4 cm below the edge of the tub.
  • Fig. 2 the overall arrangement is shown schematically from the foot end. The same designations are used as in FIG. 1.
  • the actuating handle 22 acts on the adjusting shaft 11 via a universal joint (not shown).
  • the commercially available mixing thermostat mounted under the actuating handle 23 is to be connected in a known manner with its inputs to a cold water pipe or a hot water pipe.
  • the tub outlet of the mixing thermostat is to the water inlet valve 6, its shower outlet to the shower valve actuated by the handle 24.
  • the hand shower 25 can thus be used at any time and independently of the automatic water level.
  • the outer edge of the raised tub rim 15 can be designed as a bead so that any water dripping from the hand shower 25 is directed into the tub. All of the parts described can be mounted on the tub in the factory, so that only cold water, hot water and waste water need be connected to the building.
  • FIG. 4 shows schematically and seen from the side a longitudinal section through the center of the head end of a bathtub 27 with a sanitary fitting according to the invention mounted thereon.
  • Fig. 5 shows the same tub seen from the head end. The same designations are used in both figures.
  • a commercially available drain plug 28 is arranged at the head end in the buttocks area of the tub floor in a recess 29, which is designed such that the drain plug 28 does not interfere in the buttocks area when open.
  • Towards the canal is followed by a commercially available siphon 30 as an odor trap.
  • the water inflow 31 on the tub floor is arranged as a U-shaped row of holes 31 around the drain plug 28 and is a few millimeters higher than this.
  • the inflow holes 31 are connected by hoses 32 to an inflow distributor 33, into which a water inflow line 34, a water level measuring line 35 and a blower air line 37 coming from the blower 36 open.
  • the blower air line 37 is drawn as a loop over the lowest point of the edge of the bathtub 27.
  • a backflow preventer 38 is inserted. Above the highest possible water level (lowest point of the tub edge), the water inflow line is interrupted by the free outlet, which consists of an outlet nozzle 39, an inflow funnel 40 and an air gap 41 of at least 20 mm.
  • the inflow funnel 40 is arranged within the overflow connection 42 in such a way that any water which may escape from the air gap 41 is collected and discharged through an overflow pipe 43 to the siphon 30.
  • the overflow opening of the trough is designed as a row of horizontal slots 44.
  • the drain plug 28 is operated in a known manner with a Bowden cable 45.
  • a water level measuring line 35 and the Bowden cable 45 are guided to an automatic water level 46, which is set with an actuating handle 47 which carries a locking button 48.
  • a switch or, if the control handle 47 is made large enough, an adjustable switch can additionally be placed on the top side for the fan 36 in the control handle 47 Time switch can be installed.
  • a mixed water line 50 coming from a mixing thermostat 49 and the outlet nozzle 39 are connected to the automatic water level 46.
  • the mixing thermostat 49 is connected with its supply lines 51 for cold water and 52 for hot water to the water network of the house. These are the only work that the installer has to do other than connecting siphon 30 to the sewer.
  • a hand shower 53 with shower valve 54 is provided, which can be operated independently of the automatic water level 46.
  • All units are housed at the head end of the bathtub 27 under the raised part 55 of the bathtub edge.
  • the water level measuring line 35 which has a very small cross section, is connected to the inflow distributor 33 via a thickening 56.
  • the thickening 56 has an internal volume which corresponds approximately to that of the water-tightly closed switching membrane vessel contained in the automatic water level 46. It is thereby achieved that when switching the water level within the thickening 56 only moves by small amounts, so that the air column standing above it in the water level measuring line 35 transfers the water pressure in the trough 27 to the switching diaphragm vessel in an unadulterated manner.
  • FIGS. 6 and 7 A constructive embodiment of the automatic water level 46 with the bellows-shaped switching diaphragm vessel 57 is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, FIG. 6 showing the state with the drain plug 28 open and the diaphragm servo valve 58 closed. To the extent that the parts are the same, the same designations are used in FIGS. 6 and 7 as in FIGS. 4 and 5.
  • the automatic water level 46 is set with the actuating handle 47 containing the locking button 48, which is fastened on a shaft 59 which is mounted in a carrier 60, on which all parts of the automatic water level 46 are mounted.
  • the carrier 60 is screwed to the raised part 55 of the edge of the bathtub.
  • the operating handle 47 covers the screws.
  • a cam wheel 61 sits on the same shaft 59 as the actuating handle 47 and controls all functions of the automatic water level 46.
  • the drain plug 28 is actuated via a double cam 61a, a Bowden cable lever 62 and the Bowden cable 45.
  • the spring 64 which acts on the switching diaphragm vessel 57 and determines the desired water level, is set via a curve 61b and a pin 63.
  • the curve 61c and a locking lever 64 hold the switching diaphragm vessel 57 in the stretched state via an angle arm 65 in the position shown in FIG. 6, and thus cause the diaphragm servo valve 58 (water inflow valve) - regardless of the water level - to be locked when the Plug 28 (water drain valve) is open.
  • Curve 61b and spring 64 are designed and matched to one another so that the position of the actuating handle 47, in which the pin 66 of the locking button 48 abuts a nose 67 of the support 60, the water level is "full" (approx. 11 cm below the tub rim, approx 4 cm below row of slots 44) in the bathtub.
  • the switching diaphragm vessel 57 is pressed together via the pin 63 and the spring 4 and the diaphragm servo valve 58 is thus opened by hand - contrary to the lock by the automatic water level .
  • the curve 61b can be designed correspondingly steeper in this rotation angle range.
  • the water pressure in the bathtub is transmitted to the switching diaphragm vessel 57 through the water level measuring line 35.
  • the underside of the switching diaphragm vessel 57 like the diaphragm servo valve 58, is fixedly mounted on the carrier 60.
  • a yoke 68 mounted on the upper, movable side of the switching diaphragm vessel 57 extends downward and there carries a permanent ring magnet 69, which is made of non-magnetic Material existing shaft 70 of the membrane servo valve 58 encloses without contact. If the permanent ring magnet 69 is moved downward, it lifts a soft iron pin (not shown) which is movably guided inside the shaft 70 and acts as a valve cone.
