Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a container of plastic film which can be collapsed above its base surface for holding liquid substances, in particular for holding dialysis concentrates, with a filler neck for filling the container and with a removal nozzle for removing the contents from the container and with at least one handle Has filler and / or the removal stutgen as an integrated component.
  • a container is known from DE-B-1766168.
  • Containers of this type are known and have generally also proven themselves for the most varied of applications.
  • Rigid, stiff canisters are still used today for the transport and storage of dialysis concentrates, mainly for larger containers, which are accessible via a screw cap. If necessary, the screw cap is then removed and the removal lance connected to the dialysis machine is immersed in the canister or in the dialysis concentrate.
  • this handling involves some problems: First, the disposal of the relatively large rigid canister is a problem; In medical practices and several parallel dialysis stations, there is an intermediate storage, whereby these canisters may only be used once for reasons of sterility.
  • the canister must be opened before filling and before use in order to be able to insert the removal lance. There is a risk that foreign substances get into the dialysis concentrate and cause secondary contamination.
  • foil bags are now also known which are composed of one or more layers of foil.
  • these foil bags are only suitable for smaller volumes, as the Volume the strength, in relation to a drop or impact load, which has an unfavorable effect on weld seams and so there is a risk of leakage.
  • the known foil pouches also have the disadvantage that they cannot be simply placed on the dialysis machine due to their shape instability; rather, they must be hung on the dialysis machine or on a separate infusion stand using suitable hangers and complementary hangers. Ultimately, this limits the range of motion of the dialysis machine on rollers.
  • the object underlying the invention is to develop a container of the generic type for handling liquid substances, in particular dialysis concentrates, which is simple and sterile to handle, easy to position and easy to dispose of.
  • the container is a so-called collapsible container that collapses when its contents, for example the dialysis concentrate, are removed, but without changing its contact surface, which is determined by its length and width.
  • the container With a suitable choice of its support surface, the container can thus be placed on the usual storage devices in the dialysis machine, whereby it collapses over this support surface.
  • the material thickness of the plastic used is to be chosen so that the container remains tight under heavy mechanical loads (impact, fall).
  • a material with good deformability, durability and unproblematic disposal is preferably chosen as the plastic material, for example LDPE (low density polyethylene) or LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene).
  • the extraction nozzle is closed by means of a rubber stopper and a sealing cap.
  • the closure cover is preferably placed over an annular groove with the interposition of a metal ring on the dispensing nozzle and is tightly connected to it by induction welding.
  • the extraction nozzle also has a sealing membrane, which is intended to ensure tamper evidence.
  • Fig. 1 shows a cuboid container 1, the corners of which are rounded and whose base area determined by the length a and the width b is constant as a supporting surface (left view) and also remains when the contents are removed. 1 (right view), the height c of the container is graded according to different volumes, for example 6, 8 or 10 liters (L6, L8, L10). The container is parked on the dialysis machine and collapses when the contents are removed.
  • the container 1 has a handle 3 or 4 on each of its two end faces, which is used primarily for easy transport and, if appropriate, for fixing it to a suitable suspension, for example on an IV pole. In this regard, it may also be sufficient to provide only one handle.
  • the handles are arranged centrally in relation to the end faces.
  • the container according to the invention is provided in such a way that one of the handles, for example handle 4, is designed such that it comprises a filler neck 5 and a removal neck 6 as an integrated component.
  • Handle, filler neck and tapping spout are molded on or off during the manufacture of the container. Filling neck and tapping neck are closed or encapsulated after the manufacturing process. In this state, the container is sterilized and brought to the filling station, for example in the pharmaceutical factory.
  • the filler neck 5 is cut off and, after filling, welded in a manner known per se in such a way that it is tightly sealed on the one hand and on the other hand has only a minimal residual volume with regard to collapsibility.
  • the extraction nozzle 6 is - as mentioned - also initially closed.
  • a closure lid 7 is then applied, which on the one hand seals the container tightly and germ-free and on the other hand is designed in a special way for the purpose of content removal by means of a removal lance.
  • the cover is adapted to the container and thus to the extraction nozzle.
  • the removal nozzle 6 is shown in section in Fig. 2. It has an annular constriction below the free end face. From this open end face, a stopper 8 made of rubber-elastic material, for example rubber, is inserted into the removal nozzle in such a way that it bears against the aforementioned constriction and stands back against the free end face.
  • the closure cap 7 is then placed on the collar of the removal nozzle which projects beyond the stopper 8. This has a circumferential annular groove 2, into which a metal ring 12, for example a ring made of stainless steel, is inserted before the closure cover 7 is installed. By means of inductive heating of the metal ring, the closure cover 7 is then welded tightly and firmly to the free end face of the removal nozzle. The closure cover 7 thus closes off the removal nozzle 6 tightly.
  • a sealing membrane 9 is inserted as a tamper-evident seal, which is clamped relative to the removal nozzle 6 by means of the sealing cap 7. If dialysis concentrate is now to be removed from the interior of the container 1, the removal lance is pushed through the sealing membrane 9 and the stopper 8 and introduced into the container 1. The removal lance is thus tightly and hygienically enclosed during dialysis.
  • the plug 8 has a stamped slot 8 ', which can be located both on the top and on the bottom of the plug 8. This allows the removal lance to be introduced more easily and, with appropriate prestressing of the stopper 8, to be sealed even better.
  • the stopper 8 there is also the advantage that the container 1 is tightly closed again after the removal of the removal lance; this is a very important factor with regard to the disposal of the container.
  • the removal nozzle 6 provision is made, for example, to provide the closure cover 7 with a coding nozzle 10 which, depending on the content, for example whether acetate or bicarbonate is contained in the container 1, has a different internal cross section. This prevents confusion with the content-specific cross-section of the extraction lance.
  • the constructive design of the extraction nozzle 6 ensures that the correct dialysis concentrate is always used and can also be removed with low contamination.
  • a handle and filling and removal nozzle can be diametrically opposed on two sides of the container 1. It is also conceivable to arrange two handles and to integrate the filler neck on one side and the removal neck on the other. It is also possible to integrate the filler neck on the handle and to attach the tapping neck to the side of the container, for example.
