Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen von Halbzeug mit großem Querschnittsformat als Ausgangs­ material für die Herstellung von warmgefertigten naht­ losen Rohren mit einem äußeren Durchmesser von mehr als 250 mm. Um ein Verfahren zu entwickeln, mit dem man einfach und wirtschaftlich im Hinblick auf eine optimale Umformung passendes Halbzeug zur Herstellung von warm­ gefertigten nahtlosen Rohren mit einem äußeren Durchmesser von mehr als 250 mm herstellen kann, wird vorgeschlagen, daß ein gerader kreiszylindrischer oder regulär prismatischer Ausgangsblock aus stranggegossenem Ausgangsmaterial mit einem Querschnitt F₀ bzw. einem Durchmesser d₀ eines flächengleichen kreisrunden Querschnittes und einer Länge l₀ und einem Verhältnis von l₀ zu d₀ größer eins, auf eine auf den Werkstoff abgestimmte Umformtemperatur erhitzt, danach der durch den Aufheizprozeß entstandene Zunder entfernt und anschließend in Richtung der Längs­ achse mittels Umformwerkzeuge warm auf einen Querschnitt F₁ und auf eine Länge l₁ gestaucht wird, wobei gilt, daß F₁ größer F₀ und l₁ kleiner l₀ ist.
