Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sports shoe, in particular a running shoe, with an elastically flexible heel cap arranged on the outside of the upper.
  • the heel caps which are usually made of a hard and relatively rigid material and can be arranged on the inside or outside of the shoe upper, provide the desired firm holding of the heel in the shoe, but also have disadvantages .
  • These disadvantages consist in the fact that the hard heel caps on foot shapes which do not exactly correspond to the last shape of the shoe cause painful pressure points on the foot which lead to blisters when used over a long period of time, for example during long-distance running. Regardless of the exact fit of the foot in the shoe, these phenomena also occur when running on uneven tracks, e.g. during training, jogging or running in the forest, because here a constant tilting of the heel, which is compensated by the ankle joint, is inevitable.
  • the intended purpose can only be achieved while accepting other disadvantages. If, despite the elastic resilience of the rubber heel counter, a sufficient support and holding effect is to be achieved, then the heel counter must have a considerable wall thickness and thereby noticeably increase the weight of the sports shoe. However, if the wall thickness of the heel counter is chosen to be low for weight reasons, then the heel counter loses its essential function as a heel support because, due to its elasticity, it undergoes local expansion when subjected to lateral loads, so that it only increases - for example when the heel is displaced laterally due to unevenness in the web is still on one side of the foot.
  • the heel cap is formed by a frame or latticework made of a hard, flexible material.
  • the invention is thus based on the consideration that the elastic compliance of the heel counter should not be obtained by choosing a material which is elastically compliant under tension, such as rubber, because in this way the heel counter in the parts in which tensile stress occurs under lateral loading, expands locally and thereby loses its shape.
  • the invention avoids this phenomenon in that the heel counter is made of a hard and therefore tensile, i.e. there is practically no stretch under tension, but the material has sufficient flexibility, whereby the heel counter is designed as a frame or lattice structure to provide sufficient lateral flexibility.
  • the heel counter With a lateral load, the heel counter can therefore deform to a certain extent in the direction of the load, but experiences no local expansion due to the choice of the tensile material, so that the flank of the heel counter, which is not exposed to the lateral load, is at least partially taken along.
  • the heel cap As a tensile and beige elastic material for the heel cap is the one that has been used previously for the known hard heel caps, such as hard-set polyamide, polyurethane or the like. Since the heel cap according to the invention can have a smaller wall thickness than that above in order to achieve a sufficient support effect described rubber heel caps, the weight of the sports shoes can be reduced overall.
  • the frame or lattice construction which essentially represents the load-bearing support structure of the heel counter according to the invention.
  • the heel counter according to the invention is more flexible, ie its supporting effect is less, the larger the areas of the openings provided in the frame or lattice work. For this reason, it is advantageous to fill the bridge with a tensile, flexible material, for example a fabric or a net, which is firmly connected to the edge of the openings.
  • a tensile but flexible material links the bars or webs located between the openings, without increasing the overall rigidity of the heel counter.
  • the heel counter has a frame with at least one closed-edged opening, which extends forward over the apex line on both sides.
  • there is only a certain edge area of a conventional hard heel cap the bending stiffness of which is relatively low in both lateral directions.
  • the opening of the heel counter is filled with a tensile fabric or net, the threads of which are expediently arranged at an acute angle to the heel apex line, lateral bending forces are also transmitted to the flank of the heel counter, which is remote from the direction of force, so that this also causes deformation experiences and stays in contact with the other side of the foot.
  • the heel counter 3 is fastened to the upper 2 by flat adhesive and overlaps between the outsole 1 and the upper 2 the non-visible intermediate inclusion of the upper 2 from below. It covers the shaft approximately in the heel apex area over a height of 2/3 of the shaft and extends forward on both sides of the shaft, tapering to about the joint area of the outsole 1 and in any case below the ankle of the user.
  • the heel counter 3 consists of a frame 10 made of hard, tensile, but flexible plastic material, for example hard-set polyamide, which forms a closed-edged opening 11 or a recess.
  • the opening 11 roughly follows the outer contour of the heel counter 3, as can be seen in FIG. 1, and extends over the heel apex line to both sides of the heel counter 3.
  • the opening 11 is made of a relatively flexible plastic material by an insert 12, For example, filled in polyurethane, which can have a smaller wall thickness than the frame 10, and in which a net 13 of tensile yarn is embedded. The yarns of the net 13 run, as can be seen in particular from FIG.
  • the heel counter 3 has, along its lower edge, an inwardly directed flange 14 which, as mentioned above, engages under the half-turn of the shoe upper 2 when the heel counter is in the state in which it is working.
  • the flange 14 has a series of notches 15 which allow the heel counter to bend in the plane of the drawing in FIG. 4 in order to be able to better handle the heel counter and adapt it to the heel shape of the last.
  • the width a (Fig.3) of the frame 10 is normally 8 to 15 mm, preferably 10 mm; the wall thickness of the frame is usually 1 to 1.5 mm, preferably 1.5 mm.
  • FIGS. 5 to 8 show modifications of the heel counter, which are also based on the principle according to the invention, to ensure the elastic resilience of the heel counter by the fact that its essentially load-bearing part is a "framework" or a supporting structure which deforms elastically, however can never be stretched under tensile stresses.
  • the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6 shows a frame 20 which determines the outline shape of the heel counter, the upper part of which is connected to the lower part by a kind of truss made of a plurality of vertical bars 21 and 22 or 23, 24 which run obliquely to the vertical connected is.
  • the essentially vertical rods 21, 22, which are each provided in pairs, are formed by an opening 25 located in the area of the Achilles tendon attachment or by three smaller openings 26 arranged underneath.
  • Breakthroughs 27 and 28 in the side walls of the heel counter form the obliquely forwardly extending rod 23 and, together with the two outer openings 26 in the heel region, the obliquely rearwardly extending rod 24 in each side wall.
  • the lower part of the frame 20 can have an inwardly projecting flange, not shown, which engages under the lasting fold of the sports shoe.
  • a continuous bottom which is curved in the manner of FIGS. 5 and 6 in the transition to the rear of the heel counter, proves to be more expedient.
  • the openings 25 to 28 can also a fabric or mesh made of tensile material can be filled, as explained in connection with the first embodiment, which is firmly connected to the edges of the openings. This connection is expediently achieved by direct pouring in during the manufacturing process of the framework forming the heel counter.
  • the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8 also has a frame 30, which, however, essentially only determines the shape of the side walls of the heel counter. 5, 6, the side walls are not connected to one another at their rear upper end, but are separated from one another by an open-ended opening 31, which keeps the Achilles tendon insertion and the Achilles tendon free.
  • the side walls of the heel counter are connected to one another by a heel shell 32 forming approximately a quarter ball, in which horizontal bars or horizontal arches 34 are formed by four transverse slots 33.
  • the upper end of each side wall can first be deformed to a certain extent, i.e. bend without exerting a reaction on the opposite side wall. However, if the deformation becomes more pronounced, e.g. in the event of a greater buckling of the foot, then the transverse arches 34 act as coupling links which each track the opposite side wall in the same direction of deformation.
