Definitions
- the invention relates to a cold work steel formed by hot isostatic pressing of a prealloyed powder and to a steel matrix-hard material composite material containing such a cold work steel.
- DE-PS 29 37 724 describes a cold work steel known as CPM 10 V with the following analysis (in percent by weight): 2.45 C. 0.50 mn 0.90 Si 5.25 cr 9.75 V. 1.30 mo 0.07 p Rest of Fe. For him, the carbide content is approx. 33% by volume with an MC content of approx. 16%.
- the materials mentioned are characterized by good machinability, since the carbide distribution is in fine form.
- the object of the invention is to provide a cold work steel which has both a high carbide content and is corrosion-resistant, as well as a steel matrix-hard material composite material containing such cold work steel, which is corrosion-resistant and in which the service hardness of the steel matrix is the hardness of the hard material is as close as possible.
- the pre-alloyed powder which is preferably obtained by atomizing - most preferably spherical - has a grain size of less than 500 micrometers in pure cold work steel.
- the grain size - spherical or speckled - in adaptation to a hard material powder with a grain size of 5-10 micrometers is preferably less than 50 micrometers.
- CPM T 440 Another well-known stainless cold steel sold under the name CPM T 440 with the composition (in percent by weight) 2.20 C. 0.50 mn 0.50 Si 17.50 cr 5.75 V. 0.50 mo 0.06 p Rest of Fe can at best be described as inert because, due to the high carbon layer of 2.20%, most of the 17.50% chromium present is bound in the form of carbides, so that the matrix sinks below the resistance limit of 13% chromium.
- this steel Due to the favorable ratio of service hardness to annealing hardness, i.e. low annealing hardness and high service hardness, in connection with its corrosion resistance, this steel also forms the matrix basis for an advantageous metal matrix-hard material composite material of the basic type, as described for example in DE-OS 35 07 332, because this composite material is itself easily machinable in the soft-annealed state and is resistant to abrasive wear in the hardened state of the matrix, since washing out of the matrix is largely avoided due to the proximity of the hardness of the matrix and hardness of the hard material.

Description
KorrosionAbtragungsrate w: (in 20 %-iger siedender Essigsäure) 20 mm/a
Verschleiß
Abtragunsrate W:- Flint (80) 3,2 · 10⁻⁵ mm/a - Korund (80) 4,0 · 10⁻⁵ mm/a - SiC (80) 3,8 · 10⁻⁵ mm/a.
