Claims (5)

1. Elément d'étanchéité (1) destiné à être utilisé pour l'étanchéité de parois, brèches murales ou emplacements similaires soumis à des exigences particulières de protection contre l'incendie, caractérisé en ce que l'élément d'étanchéité (1) est constitué par une bande de mousse (2) à cellules ouvertes, précomprimée, imbibée à coeur d'un produit à base de paraffine chlorée et de néoprène, dotée d'une capacité de retour retardé vers sa dimension initiale, qui est également imbibée par une masse susceptible d'intumescence expansible à la chaleur, répartie sensiblement uniformément.
2. Elément d'étanchéité selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la bande de mousse (2) est précomprimée à environ 50%.
3. Elément d'étanchéité selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la masse expansible à la chaleur est présente sous forme d'accumulations (5), du genre particulaire, dans les pores individuels de la mousse.
4. Elément d'étanchéité selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce qu'une bande de mousse (2), revenue à sa dimension initiale, peut plus facilement être comprimée selon le sens de la compression préalable que dans un sens perpendiculaire à celui-ci.
5. Elément d'étanchéité selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisée en ce que la bande de mousse (2) comporte, selon le sens de sa longueur, au moins sur une de ses faces, une feuille mince auto-adhésive (3).
