Abstract

There is proposed a driving-rod mechanism 1 for windows, doors or the like, with two driving rods 31, 32 oppositely displaceable under a face-plate rail 12, which is characterised in that the plane of rotation for the toothed rim 16 of the pinion 15 of the plane of movement of the engagement toothings 22d and 23d, meshing with this, of the two push members 22 and 23 are located in the cross-sectional region of the housing 11 conventionally taken up by the face-plate rail 12, so that the tip diameter 17 of the pinion 15 can correspond to the cross-sectional width of the face-plate rail 12. The large pinion diameter leads, at predetermined angles of rotation of the latter, to correspondingly large adjusting travels for the two oppositely movable push members 22 and 23. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an espagnolette gearbox for installation in a stepped profile groove of a wing or frame of windows, doors or the like, the profile groove having a wider groove step for installing a faceplate and a narrower groove step for installing two under the faceplate in opposite directions has displaceable drive rods,
  • in which two thrust members each provided with an engagement toothing are guided in a housing and are held in engagement with a pinion from opposite sides,
  • in which the housing consists of the flat faceplate of the connecting rod fitting and a channel which is seated on the back and is approximately U-shaped in cross section and has a smaller width than the faceplate and
  • in which the plane of rotation of the pinion is parallel to the plane of the faceplate of the housing.

With two propellers that can be displaced in opposite directions have long been known, as can be seen, for example, from DE-PS 604 687 and DE-PS 677 389. The pinion meshing with the engagement teeth of the thrust members or drive rods can be used directly as a drive member of the drive rod transmission if it is operatively connected to an operating handle, for example a turning handle (DE-PS 604 687). On the other hand, the pinion meshing with the meshing teeth of the thrust members or drive rods can also be installed only in such a way that a thrust reversing gear is formed, by means of which the thrust movement derived from one of the two drive rods is converted into an opposite movement on the other drive rod (DE-PS 677 389).

The prior art also includes, for example, DE-U-19 40 854 and DE-B 25 57 303 and FR-A-25 21 202, espagnolette transmissions for windows, doors or the like, which do not only include the input have specified generic features, but also have a design that allows their installation in profile grooves on the rebated surfaces of the sash or frame of windows, doors or the like., The lower groove level with a width of 12 mm and a height of 9 mm and have an upper groove level with a width of 16 mm and a height of at most 2.5 mm.

Der Drehwinkel der hier nur als Umkehrglieder wirkenden Ritzel ist nämlich bei derartigen Schubrichtungs-Umkehrgetrieben praktisch unbegrenzt.DE-U-19 40 854, DE-B 25 57 303 and FR-A-25 21 202 show how such drive rod gears can be designed to be sufficiently stable and thus functionally reliable for transmitting the occurring actuating forces. In these cases, however, the effective diameter of the pinion meshing with the thrust members or drive rods has no direct influence on the travel paths to be covered by the drive rods, because these are determined by an additional actuating gear which is installed elsewhere and acts on one of the drive rods . The rotation angle of the pinions acting here only as reversing members is in fact practically unlimited in the case of such pushing direction reversing gears.

If, however, the pinion is used in drive rod transmissions for windows, doors or the like of the generic type at the same time as a drive element for actuating a drive rod fitting, in which it is connected to an operating handle, for example a turning handle, then the angle of rotation for the pinion is off operating reasons usually limited to 90 ° or a maximum of 180 °.

Since the maximum diameter of the pinion cannot be greater than the width of 12 mm for the lower groove level of the profile groove provided in the sash or frame in the installation type of the drive rod gear known from DE-GM 19 40 854 and DE-AS 25 57 303, it is obvious that the two drive rods, which are moved in opposite directions by the pinion, can only be given short travel ranges. With a 90 ° rotation of the pinion, the adjustment path for each of the drive rods is approximately 7 mm, whereas with a 180 ° rotation of the pinion it can accordingly reach a maximum of 14 mm.

In the case of sashes or frames of windows and doors made of metal or plastic hollow profiles, the demands for sufficiently large push paths for the connecting rods or bolts according to EP patent application 0 02 248 are taken into account in that the pinions of the reversing devices are sufficiently large in diameter are measured.

In this case, however, the entire reversing device with pinion and thrust members is accommodated in a housing that is completely outside the drive rod groove formed in the metal or plastic hollow profiles and its cross-sectional dimensions are not limited by the - undercut - groove profile.

However, this design is purchased for the reversing device of an espagnolette lock with the disadvantage that an additional installation space is required for the housing outside the actual cross-sectional profile of the sash and frame, which in practice is only available if between the folded surfaces of sash and frame there is a sufficient distance in the direction parallel to the installation plane of the window or door.

A reversing device of this known type can therefore not be installed in windows and doors, which are made of wood and plastic profiles of a conventional type, in which there are only clearance distances between the folded surfaces of sash and frame, which are at a minimum of 4 mm and maximum 11 mm.

With espagnolette fittings for windows, doors or the like, adjustment paths for the espagnolettes are required today for practical use, in particular for safety reasons, which are at least 10 mm, but should preferably reach 20 mm. Given the given installation dimensions for the generic drive rod gearboxes, these adjustment paths for the drive rods could only be achieved with rotation angles for the pinions, which would have to be either 130 ° or 260 °. The equipping of espagnolette gearboxes with turning handles as operating handles, which require angles of rotation other than 90 ° or 180 °, are however completely unusual for the actuation of espagnolette fittings on windows and doors or the like and are therefore not usable for practical use.

The invention has for its object to improve a generic espagnolette gear so that its gear members can be manufactured with the usual manufacturing methods used in fitting construction despite the given cross-sectional dimensions for the stepped profile grooves used to accommodate the espagnolette fittings and thereby ensure robust and permanently reliable use.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide an espagnolette gearbox of the type specified at the outset, which requires only one pinion for the opposite coupling of the two thrust members Travel of at least 10 mm only has to rotate through 90 ° and for a travel of at least 20 mm at most 180 °.

This object is achieved according to the invention in accordance with the characterizing part of claim 1 by
  • that the installation area of the pinion toothing is arranged in the cross-sectional area of the wider groove step for the installation of the faceplate and the tip circle diameter of the pinion toothing corresponds at least approximately to the faceplate width,
  • that the faceplate of the housing has an interruption in the range of movement of the pinion and the thrust members,
  • that the interruption is bridged by the U-shaped channel of the housing below the faceplate level,
  • and that the faceplate interruption on the outside of the faceplate is covered by a protective cap.

This inventive design of an espagnolette gearbox has the advantage that the 16 mm wide step of the profile groove provided in the wing or frame cross section for receiving the espagnolette fitting for accommodating the meshing meshing teeth of pinion and thrust members can be fully used and thereby the production the required travel range with rotation angles of the pinion of 90 ° or 180 ° is guaranteed.

For the installation of the espagnolette gearbox, however, no additional recesses need to be machined into the sash or frame profile if there is the possibility of accommodating the operating handle for the espagnolette gearbox directly adjacent to the folded surface of the wing or frame. This is possible in particular in the case of windows and doors or the like in which two sashes in the same frame are installed side by side so that they can work together directly on the frame, i.e. without the interposition of a fixed middle post (French sash windows and doors).

In such a case, a drive rod gear according to the invention can then be installed on the rebate surface of the underlapping wing, where it can be operated via the operating handle after the overlapping wing has been opened beforehand.

Of course, it is also conceivable to use an espagnolette gear with the features according to the invention for espagnolette fittings for windows, doors or the like. If necessary, only as a reversing thrust gear, in other words, for the actual actuation of the espagnolette fitting, an espagnolette gear provided elsewhere is more common Way to use.

An important further development feature for the drive rod transmission according to the invention is also seen according to claim 2 in that the facing end sections of the faceplate are gripped by the legs of the mutually facing ends of the U-shaped channel and with these, e.g. are firmly connected by riveting and / or welding.

According to claim 3, preferably made of thin-walled material, protective cap can also be riveted and / or welded to the legs of the U-shaped channel and / or the mutually facing ends of the faceplate, in such a way that they are only slightly above the level of the outer broad side the faceplate protrudes.

The invention further proposes according to claim 4 that the pinion in the aligned position of its axis of rotation has a driver engagement or approach, which is exposed in the region of an opening in the protective cap and with which an operating handle can therefore be coupled.

Especially when the espagnolette gearbox is to be actuated directly by an operating handle, it has proven to be useful if, according to claim 5, the pinion has four teeth which are evenly distributed over its entire circumference and is installed in such a way that in the two possible end sliding positions of the two Pushers the teeth of the pinion are at an angle of 45 ° to the pushing direction of the pushers. This then results in a self-locking of the drive rod transmission which is particularly advantageous for certain purposes and which cannot be overcome by exerting a pushing force on the drive rods, but only by applying a rotational force to the pinion.

The invention further provides according to claim 6 that the bearing shaft of the pinion is received within the U-shaped channel and is held axially and radially in a bearing opening at the bottom of the U-shaped channel with a stepped neck.

It also proves to be advantageous if, according to claim 7, the thrust members protrude with stepped guide sections into the U-shaped channel and are supported by them both against end faces and against the inner surfaces of the legs of the channel cross section. For this purpose, according to claim 8, the thrust members have an angled cross-section and carry on the inside of the angle a stiffening and / or guide bar, the width of which is adapted to the thickness of the channel legs.

The angle leg of each thrust member protruding sideways from the U-shaped channel is provided on its upper side with the engagement toothing, wherein it is overlapped by the toothed ring of the pinion in the area of the tooth gaps.

The bearing shaft of the pinion can also have a neck-like extension according to claim 9, which extends through the opening of the protective cap. In this case there is the possibility according to claim 10, in the jacket of the neck-like Extension of the bearing shaft to form at least one axially parallel driver groove with which an adapted driver bar can be brought into engagement, which is located on the inner circumference of a coupling scar of the operating handle which can be plugged onto the neck-like extension.

Claim 11 further provides according to the invention that the bearing shaft of the pinion has an axially parallel, e.g. at the end of the neck-like extension opening, channel, in particular with a polygonal cross section, into which either a correspondingly profiled driver attachment of the operating handle can be inserted or a self-tapping fastening screw for the operating handle can be screwed in.

Finally, according to the invention, it has also proven useful if, according to claim 12, the diameter of the neck-like extension on the bearing shaft of the pinion is adapted to the root diameter of the pinion ring gear.

The espagnolette 1 shown in the drawing can be used with all espagnolette fittings for windows, doors or the like, which are installed in stepped profile grooves 2 on the rebate surface 3 of a wing 4 or a fixed frame, such as in FIG. 3 for example see is. Each profile groove 2 usually has two different groove stages 5 and 6 of different width and height. The inner groove step 5 has a width 7 of about 12 mm and a height 8 of about 9 mm, while the outer groove step 6 has a width 9 of 16 mm and a height 10 of about 2.5 mm. Both groove steps 5 and 6 are arranged symmetrically to a common longitudinal median plane, i.e. the width 9 of the outer groove step 6 projects evenly beyond the width 7 of the inner groove step 5 on both sides, i.e. by 2 mm each.

The drive rod gear 1 has a housing 11, the cross-sectional shape of which is adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the stepped profile groove 2 on the rebate surface 3 of the wing 4 or the frame, as can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 3. This housing 11 is formed by a faceplate 12 which is flat-rectangular in cross section and a channel 13 which is seated on its rear side and is U-shaped in cross section. The cross-sectional dimension of the flat-rectangular faceplate 12 is adapted to the width 9 and the height 10 of the outer groove step 6 of the profile groove 2, while the outer cross-sectional dimensions of the channel 13 are matched to the width 7 and the height 8 of the inner groove step 5 of the profile groove 2 are.

Both the faceplate 12 and the channel 13 are made of metal. The faceplate 12 is preferably made of flat steel, for example rolled steel strip, while the channel 13 is a steel profile with a U-shaped cross section, which can preferably be produced as a stamped and bent part from sheet steel.

To form the housing 11, two faceplate sections 12a and 12b are connected to both legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13, for example riveted, in such a way that the plane of its broad side runs parallel to the plane of the bottom 13c on the channel 13.

The connection of the two faceplate sections 12a and 12b with the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 is carried out in such a way that the ends of the faceplate sections 12a and 12b facing each other are at a distance 14 from each other, which is only due to the cross section U- shaped channel 13 is bridged rigidly. Over the distance 14, the faceplate 12 is provided with an interruption across its entire width on the housing 11 of the drive rod transmission 1.

As can be seen in FIG. 1 of the drawing, it can prove to be advantageous to provide the end regions of the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 with webs which positively engage in adapted slots in the faceplate sections 12a and 12b and are riveted or caulked in the process can.

Half a length of the channel with a U-shaped profile in cross section and also half the length of the interruption of the faceplate 12 determined by the distance 14, a pinion is rotatably arranged in the housing 11. Here, the ring gear 16 of the pinion 15 with the pinion toothing lies in the cross-sectional area of the housing 11 which is kept free within the interruption determined by the distance 14 from the cross section of the faceplate 12 or of the two faceplate sections 12a and 12b. The tip circle diameter 17 of the ring gear 16 on the pinion 15 can therefore be at least approximately matched to the dimension which corresponds to the cross-sectional width of the faceplate 12 or the faceplate sections 12a and 12b and therefore at least approximately the width 9 of the groove step 6 in the profile groove 2 in Wing 4 or frame is adjusted.

A bearing shaft 18 of the pinion 15 protrudes into the light space of the channel 13 between its two legs 13a and 13b, and above its free end it is provided with a collar 19 which adjusts one to the light dimension between the two legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 has a coordinated diameter. With the collar 19, the bearing shaft 18 is supported axially against the bottom 13a of the channel 13, while a stepped neck 20 of the bearing shaft 18 below the collar 19 engages centering in a bearing bore 21 on the bottom 13c of the channel 13.

Above the collar 19, the bearing shaft 18 of the pinion 15 has a diameter which is matched to the diameter of the neck 20, so that at these points between the peripheral surface or the jacket of the bearing shaft 18 and the inner surfaces of the two legs 13a and 13b in the channel 13 each a gap space remains free.

The length of the bearing shaft 18 between the rear of the ring gear 16 on the pinion 15 and the end face of the collar 19 supported on the bottom 13c of the channel 13 is dimensioned such that also between the rear of the ring gear 16 and the end edges of the two legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 a gap is kept free, which lies at least over a partial area within the cross-sectional zone, which usually corresponds to the installation cross section of the faceplate 12 or the faceplate sections 12a and 12b.

In the cross-sectional areas determined by these gap spaces, two thrust members 22 and 23 with an essentially cross-sectional or L-shaped profile are accommodated, in such a way that their profile flange 22a or 23a in each case on the inner surface of the legs 13a or 13b of the channel 13 is received in the gap to the bearing shaft 18 of the pinion 15, while its profile flange 22b or 23b lies in the gap between the back surface of the ring gear 16 and the free end edges of the legs 13 and 13b of the channel 13.

It has also proven to be expedient if the thrust members 22 and 23 each carry a stiffening and / or guide bar 22c or 23c on their inside of the angle, the width of which depends on the material thickness of the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 is adapted. These stiffening and / or guide strips 22c and 23c are in engagement with notches 24 of the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13. The notches 24 are located on the end edges of the two legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 and each extend over a length which preferably corresponds to the edge 14 between the facing ends of the two cuff rail sections 12a and 12b and therefore with the length of provided in the faceplate 12 interruption coincides.

On the outside of the profile flange 22b or 23b of the thrust members 22 and 23, an engagement toothing 22d or 23d is formed, which extends in the longitudinal direction of each thrust member 22 or 23 and which protrudes into the area of the ring gear 16 of the pinion 15. The length of the engagement teeth 22d and 23d on the thrust members 22 and 23 are each dimensioned such that they can interact with the pinion 15 over an angle of rotation of at least 90 °. However, the length of the engagement teeth 22d and 23d should preferably be dimensioned in such a way that their interaction with the pinion 15 is ensured over an angle of rotation of 180 °.

In der äußeren bzw. ausgefahrenen Schiebestellung der Schubglieder 22 und 23 reichen deren voneinander abgewendete Enden jeweils bis an die Stirnkanten der den Abstand 14 bestimmenden Ende der beiden Stulpschienen-Abschnitte 12a und 12b heran.1 of the drawing is particularly clear that the engagement teeth 22d and 23d of the two thrust members 22 and 23 are engaged with the pinion 15 on diametrically opposite circumferential sides, so that they are coupled together via the pinion 15 for mutually opposite displacement are. In Fig. 1, the inner or retracted sliding position of the two thrust members 22 and 23 can be seen. In the outer or extended sliding position of the thrust members 22 and 23, their ends facing away from one another each extend as far as the end edges of the end of the two faceplate sections 12a and 12b which determines the distance 14.

In the exemplary embodiment of a drive rod transmission 1 shown in the drawing, the pinion 15 has in the inner or retracted sliding position of the two thrust members 22 and 23 is such a rotational position that only one of the four teeth of its ring gear 16, which are evenly distributed in the circumferential direction, engages with each of the engagement teeth 22d and 23d, each of these teeth being approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the engagement teeth 22d and 23d assumes an aligned position.

For some applications of the drive rod transmission 1, however, it may be advantageous to keep the pinion 15 in operative connection via its toothed ring 16 with the engagement teeth 22d and 23d of the two thrust members 22 and 23 such that at least in the outer or extended sliding position of the two thrust members 22 and 23 each two of the four teeth of the ring gear 16 cooperate with each of the engagement gears 22d and 23d in such a way that these teeth each assume an angular position of 45 ° against the direction of thrust of the thrust members 22 and 23. It has been shown in practice that a drive rod gear designed in this way has a self-locking effect which cannot be overcome by the action of longitudinal forces on the thrust members 22 and 23, but only when a rotational force is exerted on the pinion 15 itself.

The interruption of the faceplate 12 or the faceplate sections 12a and 12b of the housing 11 going over the distance 14 is covered on the outside by a thin-walled protective cap, which can preferably be produced as a stamped-embossed part made of metal, in particular sheet steel. This protective cap 25 covers the entire range of movement of the two thrust members 22 and 23 and also the pinion 15 on the housing 11 on the end face. After installing the thrust members 22 and 23 and the pinion 15 in the housing 11 of the drive rod gear 11, the protective cap 25 with the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 and possibly also with the faceplate sections 12a and 12b of the housing 11 by riveting or Welding are firmly connected.

In the installation area of the pinion 15, the protective cap 25 can be provided with an opening 26 with which the pinion can be additionally supported 15 a neck-like extension 27 is engaged (FIGS. 2 and 3). In many cases it is sufficient if the neck-like extension 27 has an axial extension which corresponds approximately to the material thickness of the protective cap 25. On the other hand, it may also be advisable to have the neck-like extension 27 protrude to a certain extent over the end face of the protective cap 25, so that it can be used as a coupling hub for a rotary handle 28 serving as an operating handle. In this case, the neck-like extension 27 can have axially parallel driver grooves 29 or also circumferential flats in its circumferential or circumferential surface, with which adapted driver strips or surfaces can be brought into positive engagement, which are located on the inner circumference of the coupling hub of the rotary handle 28.

In the axial alignment with the longitudinal axis, the pinion 15 and its bearing shaft 18 also have a profile channel 30 which opens out at least on the end face of the neck-like extension 27 and has a polygonal, for example hexagonal, cross section. This profile channel 30 can be used as a coupling engagement for a correspondingly profiled driver attachment on the operating handle 28 or a key, provided that this or this is only to be plugged in loosely and temporarily brought into operative connection with the pinion. If, however, it is intended to hold a rotating handle 28 serving as an operating handle releasably, but secured against undesired lifting, to keep it in connection with the pinion 15, then this profile channel 30 is also suitable for receiving a self-tapping fastening screw, the head of which then countersinks its abutment the end face of the coupling hub of the rotary handle 28 takes place.

It is also worth mentioning that the overall height of the ring gear 16 on the pinion and the meshing engagement teeth 22d and 23d of the thrust members 22 and 23 can also be dimensioned so that they cover the outer broad side of part of the housing 11 for the drive rod gear 1 and the faceplate 12 and whose faceplate sections 12a and 12b protrude somewhat. In this case, it is then expedient to apply the protective cap 25 with cranking 25a and 25b to be provided so that it securely covers the installation space projecting beyond the outer broad side of the faceplate 12 over the distance 14.

On their underside facing the bottom 13c of the channel 13, the two thrust members 22 and 23 of the drive rod transmission each carry a driver lug 22e or 23e, via which they can each be coupled to a drive rod 31 or 32 via adapted driver recesses 31a or 32a. For this purpose, the drive rods 31 and 32 each protrude from the open ends into the channel 13 of the housing 11.

Deviating from the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, it is also conceivable to construct the drive rod transmission 1 structurally separately from the faceplate sections 12a and 12b and the drive rods 31 and 32 guided on the rear side of the faceplate, as well as suitable coupling options for subsequent connection to the faceplate sections 12a and 12b and their drive rods 31 and 32 are provided. For this purpose, it would be possible, for example, to attach only short cover pieces with a corresponding, flat-rectangular cross-sectional profile to the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 instead of the stub rail sections 12a and 12b, the mutually facing transverse edges of the interruption in the housing 11 over the distance 14 limit. These cover pieces can also be easily formed by extension sections 25c and 25d of the protective cap 25, the back of which is then connected at one level to the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13, which is usually at the level of the outer broad side of the faceplate 12 or the the two faceplate sections 12a and 12b corresponds, as can also be seen from FIG. 2.

However, while the extension sections 25c and 25d of the protective cap 25 according to FIG. 2 lie along their entire length on the outer broad side of the faceplate sections 12a and 12b, they protrude from the modified one Design of the drive rod gear 1 with those sections which each contain countersunk holes delimited by a highly embossed ring bead 25e or 25f, freely beyond the end edges of the legs 13a and 13b of the channel 13 and are at a distance therefrom which is the material thickness of the flat cross section. rectangular faceplate 12 or faceplate sections 12a and 12b corresponds.

25f begrenzten Senklöchern in Deckungslage kommt. The drive rod fitting assemblies, each consisting of a faceplate section 12a and 12b and a drive rod 31 or 32, can then be detachably coupled to the drive rod gear 1. For this purpose, their drive rods 31 and 32 are first brought into positive engagement with the driver projections 22e and 23e of the thrust members 22 and 23 within the channel 13 via their driver recesses 31a and 32. Subsequently, the faceplate sections 12a and 12b are inserted between the extension sections 25c and 25d of the protective cap 25 and the end edges of the legs 13a, 13b of the channel 13 until a through hole 33a or 33b thereof with that of the ring beads 25e or 25f limited countersunk holes comes into cover. In the installed state, the connecting rod fitting assemblies can then each be held in operative connection by a countersunk screw 34 with the connecting rod gear 1, which each also penetrates a through hole 35 in the bottom 13 c of the channel 13 that binds part of the housing 11. In this way, a force-transmitting linkage then takes place between the housing 11 of the drive rod gear 1 and the faceplate sections 12a and 12b of the drive rod fitting assemblies, which are structurally separate therefrom.
