Claims (5)

1. A hinge joint (10) for windows, doors or like, more particularly on the stay arm of a stay mechanism (11) for tum-tilt panels, in which joint a bent intermediate member (14) is mounted for pivoting around a pivot pin (13), is mounted for pivoting (26, 27) around a pivot pin (13) in a bearing lug (12) disposed on the fixed frame and is connected to a carrying arm (15) or the like rotatable around an articulation axis (19-19) extending perpendicularly to the pivot pin (13), the latter arm (15) engaging the panel as retaining element and being locatable on the intermediate member (14) in the two turn positions offset by 180° from one another, characterised in that the carrying arm end near the intermediate member (14) has a fork shape (35-37) comprising two parallel prongs or tines (38) or the like; the fork prongs (38) extend laterally past a bearing lug (28) of the intermediate member (14), such lug receiving (22) the axis (19-19; 21); and a cam or ledge (29) or the like projects radially from the bearing lug (28) and has two abutment surfaces (30, 31) which extend away from one another and against which one of the fork prongs (38) is adapted to bear (39) in the two turn positions offset by 180° from one another.

A joint according to any of claims 1-3 in which the carrying arm (15) is so connected to the intermediate member (14) as to have limited provision for movement (24, 25) lenghtwise of the axis (19), characterised in that the carrying arm prongs (38) and the cam or ledge (29) or the like of the intermediate member (14) have in the longitudinal direction an amount of overlap greater than the maximum amount of displacement (24, 25) provided.
5. A joint according to any of claims 1-4 in which the carrying arm is effective as the stay arm of a tum-tilt stay mechanism.
