  • daß je ein Rastzahn in den Durchbruch oder Ausschnitt einrückbar ist, und daß dabei jeder Rastzahn eine einen Längsrand des Durchbruchs oder Ausschnitts hintergreifende und die Rückdrehung des Hülsenteil-Lappens gegenüber dem Zwischenstück blockierende Sperrflanke aufweist.

Claims (6)

  1. A hinge device (1) for windows or doors or the like, more particularly on the stay mechanism for turntilt sashes, the device comprising a hinge arm (7) which is connected to the sash and is connected to the first limb (9) of an intermediate member (8) whose second limb (10) extends perpendicularly to its first limb (9) and is so connected to the plate (6) of a knuckle (4) for right and left hanging at choice as to be pivotable around a pivot (11) extending substantially parallel to the length of the first limb (9), the knuckle (4) being pivotally maintained by a hinge pin (13) of a mounting (2) adapted to be fitted to the room-side end face of the fixed frame,
    the second limb (10) of the intermediate member (8) being formed centrally of its length near the transition zone to the first limb (10) with a recess or aperture (12),
    the hinge arm (7) having at its rear end a shouldered catch (15) disposed centrally of its length and being engaged by way of such catch in the recess or aperture (14) in the second limb (10) of the intermediate member (8),
    the knuckle plate (6) being adapted to be secured in each of its two possible 180°-apart end pivoted positions relatively to the second limb of the intermediate member (8) by snap catch devices in which a catch projection (28) engages in a catch recess (14, 14a, 14b),
    characterised in that
    as catch projection there is provided at or near each transverse edge (27) of the knuckle plate (6) a catch tooth (28) which projects from the plane of the plate (6) towards the second limb (10) of the intermediate member (8);
    the recess or aperture (14) in the second limb (10) of the intermediate member (8) is used as catch recess;
    one catch toothing (28) each is engageable in the recess or aperture (14), and
    each catch tooth (28) has a locking flank (29) which engages behind a longitudinal edge (14a) or (14b) of the recess or aperture (14) and prevents the knuckle plate (6) from turning back relatively to the intermediate member (8).
  2. A hinge device according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
       each catch tooth (28) is devised unitarily from the knuckle plate (6).
  3. A hinge device according to claim 1 or 2,
    characterised in that
       the locking flank (29) of the or each catch tooth (28) is preceded by an abutment flank (30) which rises at a reduced inclination or wedge-fashion.
  4. A hinge device according to any of claims 1 to 3,
    characterised in that
       the length of the abutment flank (13) of the catch tooth (28) corresponds substantially to the width of the recess or aperture (14) in the second limb (10) of the intermediate member (8).
  5. A hinge device according to any of claims 1 to 4,
    characterised in that
       a shoulder (31) projects from the transverse edges (27) of the knuckle plate (6) and forms a support abutment for the catch (15), which projects from the hinge arm (7) centrally of its length, in the finally assembled position or end pivoted position of the intermediate member (8).
  6. A hinge device according to any of claims 1 to 5,
    characterised in that
       the contour of the transverse edges (27) of the knuckle plate (6) describes an arc (33) which merges near the catch teeth (28) into a straight line (32) and whose distance from the pivot (11) of the plate (6) and intermediate member (8) is such that when the plate (6) is in its final assembly position or final pivoted position the bottom surface of the projection (15) engages positively on the straight line (13) so that a support connection of the intermediate member (8) and hinge arm (7) is braced resiliently.
