Definitions

  • the invention relates to a dispenser for pasty product, in particular shoe polish, with a container containing the product, which has at its upper end a metering head designed as a manually operable piston pump with a piston to be actuated against the force of a return spring and with a pressure line leading to a wiping head, and the has at its lower end a bottom piston which can be displaced along the container wall by the pressure of the external atmosphere and which lies sealingly against it.
  • Such a dispenser is described in DE-OS 29 01 717.
  • the known dispenser is coupled to a container containing the respective product, which is to be closed at one end with a piston sealingly held on the inner wall of the container and to be provided at the other end with a head piece having an applicator.
  • the head piece forms a pump chamber that is variable in volume due to external loading, which is separated from the container by a first check valve that can only be opened in the direction of the pump chamber and opposite the mouth of the applicator by a second check valve that can only be opened in the direction of this mouth.
  • the essentially cylindrical pump chamber is limited by a piston surface that is movable relative to it. The relative movement of the piston surface takes place in one direction against the force of a return spring.
  • the pressure line of the known dispenser following the second check valve has a free-ended outlet opening designed as a nozzle or the like.
  • the volume of the pump chamber can be reproducibly changed or controlled by the respective stroke of the piston surface.
  • the known dispenser has a pressure line which ends only with an open nozzle or the like as the product outlet, so that separate aids must be provided for distributing metered product.
  • the dispenser includes an essentially cylindrical product container, which has at its upper end a hand-operated conveyor designed as a delivery piston.
  • the piston area of this delivery piston is made as large as the inner cross-sectional area of the container and is equipped with a passage opening, which is followed by an outlet with an outlet channel to be blocked by a closure in the rest position.
  • the container At its lower end opposite the conveying device, the container has a closure piston which can be displaced along the inner wall of the container by the pressure of the external atmosphere.
  • a pivoting key is provided at the upper end of the container which engages at the outlet.
  • the lock assigned to the dispensing channel when the dispenser is at rest according to the aforementioned EP-OS 00 84 638 is actuated by a pressure difference between the internal pressure of the container and the external pressure which occurs when the delivery piston moves back into the rest position.
  • DE-OS 24 16 751 describes a shoe cream application brush, in the brush handle of which a shoe cream supply cylinder is provided.
  • the shoe polish supply can be pressed with the aid of a piston movable in the cylinder in the direction of a channel leading through the back of the brush to the bristle trim. Although this channel can be blocked with the aid of a separate closure, the amount of product pressed into or through the bristle stock when the lock is open cannot be predetermined.
  • the known dispenser can only be handled with great difficulty - namely by advancing its piston - in practice it has almost been a matter of luck to squeeze out a strand of the desired length. It would be particularly desirable to dose so much shoe polish that the metered amount of product remains within the spreading stock during distribution. However, since the latter - especially after some use - is opaque, it is generally overdosed until the product strand emerges from the coating stock.
  • DE-OS-1 928 880 describes an application device for liquid or cream-like agents, in which, for natural and practical handling, the coating head is arranged with its axis at an angle between 20 ° and 70 ° to the main axis of the storage container.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a shoe cream applicator to be equipped with a bristle or sponge as a spreading head so that when using a piston pump for conveying the product with one stroke each time, the conveyed product strand automatically always exactly to the bristle tips, the sponge surface or the like apex is sufficient and the dosed product neither accidentally shoots past the top of the spreader head nor would it have to be dosed several times to reach the top, the spreader head being assigned to the dispenser in an ergonomically favorable handling position.
  • the spreader head has a base with a central dispensing channel and spreader trimming and is arranged on the dispensing head with its axis inclined at approximately 45-75 degrees, preferably approximately 70 degrees, against the dispenser axis in such a way that the pressure line in the output bekanal opens, which extends in a straight line into a product channel enclosed by the coating, which runs from the base to the apex and that, in particular by appropriately designing the length of the product channel and the inside diameter of the output channel, the volume flow rate of a single piston stroke each is driven by one to is precisely matched to the apex of the product strand reaching the spreading stock.
  • the invention creates a dispenser for shoe polish that is ergonomically good in the hand and with which only as much product is conveyed as can be absorbed by the coating. This results in an even application of product to the shoes to be treated in the application, without the risk of overdosing and the associated contamination of hands or clothing. Due to the kinking of the spreader head according to the invention with respect to the dispenser axis, the dispenser lies extremely favorably in the hand of the user in the application case.
  • the volume of a piston stroke should be sufficient to squeeze out a strand right up to the apex of the respective wiping head.
  • This strand generally begins approximately at the base of the trimming stock. If the trowel is covered with a cap that contains a locking pin for the discharge opening of the pressure line when not in use, it is within the scope of the invention to match the strand length to be metered in each case to the distance between the end of the product in the pressure line and the apex.
  • the invention ensures that the length and the diameter of a strand of shoe polish to be conveyed with a piston stroke are to be matched to the piston stroke and the viscosity of the shoe polish in such a way that the product strand squeezed out in each case with a piston stroke is exactly to the apex, in particular to the Bristle tips or the sponge surface is guided without the possibility of being able to emerge laterally from the coating.
  • the metered amount of product can accordingly always be distributed from one axis of the coating stock without disruptive amounts of product reaching the side surfaces of the coating stock during distribution and which could impair its performance due to drying out.
  • the pressure line should open in the middle of the base formed as the base of the wiping stock and in the wiping stock, in the straight extension of the output part of the pressure line adjacent to the mouth, a product channel assigned to the product line and going from the base to the crown should be enclosed or enclosed by the wiping stock to be spanned.
  • This product channel should then also have the task of facilitating the exit of a metered product strand and centering the strand and, when the dispenser is closed, using a cover cap to hold a locking pin which is fastened to the inner surface thereof and which should extend into the discharge opening of the pressure line.
  • Circular media-carrying bristle bundles are preferably arranged around a product channel provided within a bristle stock having bristles and starting from the mouth of the pressure line.
  • an arrangement which is advantageous with regard to the spreading properties is obtained if two bristle rings with an inner ring consisting of individual bundles and with a closed outer ring are provided around the product channel. Good spreading properties also result if the bristle bundles are pointed at least on the inner rim immediately adjacent to the product channel.
  • the dispenser according to the invention according to FIGS. 1 and 2 consists, preferably as a unit, of a dosing head, generally designated 1, and a spreading head, generally designated 2.
  • the dosing head 1 can, for. B. be coupled by screwing or bouncing with a product container 3.
  • the product container 3 is sealed at its one lower end with a bottom piston 4 sliding on the inner wall of the container. At its other, upper end, the product container 3 has a removal opening 5.
  • the dosing head 1 consists essentially of a piston pump, designated overall by 6, with a piston 9 to be actuated by finger pressure on a pump button 7 against the force of a return spring 8, which in the direction of the device axis 10 in the cylinder 11 for enlarging and reducing the pump chamber 12 is movably supported.
  • the pump chamber 12 is delimited by a partition 13 to the container interior 14, a non-return suction valve 15 located in the removal opening 5 of the container 3 and a pump chamber outlet 16 with a non-return pressure valve 17.
  • a pressure line 18 leading to the head 2 is connected to the pump chamber outlet 16 on the outside of the pressure valve 17.
  • the pressure line 18 is continued as an output channel 19 arranged perpendicular to the bottom surface or base 20 of the coating head 2.
  • the spreading head 2 consists of a holding body 21 which can be screwed onto the dosing head 1 or can be produced in one piece therewith.
  • the base 20 of the holder 22 receiving the coating trimming 23 is fastened on the holding body 21.
  • a brushing stock 23 consisting of bristle bundles 24, e.g. B. by spraying, welding or gluing, on the base 20 brought.
  • the coating material 23 including base 20 can be covered with a cap 25. Zwec km is used a cap 25, on the inner surface of a locking pin 26 is formed so that when the cap 25 is placed on the holder 22 of the locking pin 26 with its tip 27 sealingly enters the discharge opening 28 of the discharge channel 19 and this, for. B. prevents drying out.
  • the spreader head 2 is inclined with its axis 29 by approximately 45 to 75 ° , preferably approximately 70 ° (as in the accompanying drawing) against the device axis 10.
  • the discharge opening 28 of the discharge channel 19 should have a diameter of 3 to 8 mm, preferably about 5 mm.
  • the bristles of the brushing insert 23 are to be arranged, for example, in two bristle rings 30, 31 around the dispensing opening 28, the inner ring 30 of a brushing head 2 with an outer diameter of 38 mm consisting of twelve bundles and the outer ring 31 being closed.
  • bristle bundles 24 are aligned parallel to one another, such as to the axis 29 and perpendicular to the outer surface of the base 20.
  • Bristle dimensions for applying shoe polish are 0.1 mm in diameter and 14 mm in length.
  • the bristles are said to be made of a material that is chemically resistant to shoe polish, such as polynil.
  • a sponge as a wiping head, that is, as a means for distributing dosed shoe cream, also come for an outer diameter of 38 mm of the wiping head 2, approximately sponge diameter of 29 mm and heights of 12 mm with a bore diameter (of the product channel 33) of approximately 5 mm for inserting the locking pin 26 in question.
  • Sponges made of non-reticulated polyester without flocking are suitable as a means of applying shoe polish.
  • the respective sponge should - with a density of 40 to 45 kg / m 3 and about 18 to 25 pores per cm - be soft and supple, but prevent product leakage to the side as far as possible.
