Definitions
- the invention relates to a buckle for a webbing security system, consisting of a lock housing with a locking and unlocking mechanism, a lock tongue which can be inserted into the lock housing and locked with the mechanism, and at least one end piece which is loosely pluggable on the lock tongue for an end piece to be fastened thereon Belt strap, said mechanism having a locking member determining the locking position of the lock tongue, a spring-loaded hold-down device for securing the locking position of the lock tongue, a release button which interacts with the hold-down device and can be actuated by finger pressure, and a spring-loaded ejector for the lock tongue and at least one end piece having at least one has the above control member for the operation of the mechanism.
- the release button of the locking and release mechanism housed in the lock housing is arranged in a conventional manner in belt buckles of this type, which come to rest in the abdominal region of the person to be secured with a multi-belt system, in such a way that the actuating pressure acts on the release button perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the belt buckle .
- the control member of the belt end piece also actuates an additional bolt which, in its: starting position, locks the locking point for the buckle tongue in the mechanism mentioned. This previous release of the locking point for the lock tongue has proven itself with regard to the secure latching of the lock tongue.
- the object of the invention is to provide a belt buckle of the type mentioned in that, while maintaining safe operability and compact design of the buckle improves the insertion of the tongue into the lock housing and a pressure effect on the belly of the secured person when opening the buckle is avoided .
- the solution to this problem is based on the belt buckle mentioned and is characterized in that the release button is at least approximately parallel to the locking position of the lock tongue in the lock housing that the locking member is pivotable perpendicular to the plane of the locked lock tongue and has an oblique actuating surface against which the control member of the strap end piece can be brought into contact such that the locking member at previous pushing back of the ejector is pressed into its locked position by the lock tongue, and that the hold-down device bears against the locking member in the locked position of the locking member.
- the release button is arranged on the plug-in side of the lock housing and can be pressed in the direction of the belt fastening end of this housing.
- the pivotable locking member has a front locking extension which is inclined downwards and forwards relative to its longitudinal extent, the front inclined surface of which is the actuating surface which interacts with the control element of the belt strap end piece and the rear oblique surface of which is designed as a further actuating surface for an opening force acting on the locking member .
- the design of the buckle according to the invention makes it possible for the buckle of this type to move in the longitudinal direction of the buckle even with buckles of this type, so that the release pressure of the button no longer acts on the belly of the secured person, but is directed parallel to it and therefore is no longer perceived as unpleasant. Because of the further construction according to the invention and the corresponding function of the closing and releasing mechanism, there is no transverse movement of the lock tongue at the end of its latching movement that the tongue is now brought into its rest position only in a straight direction. Furthermore, the control member of the belt end piece now presses directly onto the pivotably mounted locking member, the lock tongue having cleared this point beforehand by pushing back the ejector normally locking the locking point.
- This snap-in principle enables a further simplified construction of the belt buckle, so that its compactness and ease of use, including its safe function, are retained, if not improved.
- the belt buckle according to the invention can also be produced inexpensively.
- the belt buckle, generally designated 1, for a belt security system consists of a lock housing 2 with a release button 3, a lock tongue 4 which can be inserted into the housing and, for example, two end pieces 5 and 6 which are held in a known manner on the lock tongue are by having aligned slots (not shown), which are penetrated by the lock tongue.
- a lap belt is attached in the usual way, while on the end pieces 5 and 6 attack the usual shoulder straps.
- a further end piece for a so-called crotch strap is held on the lock tongue.
- only one common strap end piece is used for the two shoulder straps. It is important that at least one of the end pieces has a control element 7 which interacts with a closing and releasing mechanism, which is accommodated in the lock housing 2 and is explained below.
- the end piece 6 facing the housing is preferably provided with at least one control element 7.
- the release button 3 is provided on the plug side of the lock housing 2, that is, on the side on which the lock tongue 4 is inserted into the mechanism mentioned.
- the key 3 is displaceably mounted in the housing 2 in such a way that it can be pressed in order to unlock the lock tongue 4 in the direction of the belt fastening end of the lock housing indicated by 8.
- the direction of movement of the release button 2 thus runs at least approximately parallel to the latching position of the lock tongue in the lock housing, so that the release pressure on the button is also aligned accordingly.
- the above-mentioned closing and releasing mechanism can best be seen from FIGS. 4, 6 and 7.
- the supervision of F ig. 4 shows a shaped U-substantially metal S ch complicatedrahmen 9 which has the rear, a mounting lug 10 for the above-mentioned lap belt, and is bordered on the sides and front of a mask 11 down, which covers the plug-in side of the lock housing 2 protectively partially and there a Has insertion opening 12 for the lock tongue 4 and the control member 7 (Fig.3).
- the release button 3 shown in dash-dot lines in FIG. 4 has two legs 3a, 3b which are guided on the mask 11, as also shown in FIG. 5. Stops 13 and 14 of the mask 11 ensure a secure position and guidance of the release button 3 on the mask.
- a locking member 15 in the form of a pawl is pivotally mounted on the legs of the U-shaped lock frame 9, perpendicular to the plane of the latched tongue 4.
- the pawl which in turn is designed as a frame part of a generally rectangular shape is loosely mounted in recesses at one end of the lock frame 9 and provided with a front locking extension 16 at its opposite end and there in the center.
- This extension is designed with respect to the longitudinal extent of the remaining locking member 15 inclined downward and forward so that it can engage in a conventional latching opening 17 of the lock tongue 4 according to FIG. 7.
- the front surface 18 of the locking extension 16 has as an actuating surface for the control member 7 of the end piece 6 such an inclination that the control member presses the locking extension 16 in the open position shown in FIG. 6 down.
- Lock tongue 4 is slidably mounted and is held by a helical compression spring 21 on the rail in the starting position (Fig. 6). In this position of the ejector, its upper surface 22 forms a support surface for securing the open position of the locking member, the ejector simultaneously locking the locking point for the lock tongue in the mechanism in question.
- the obliquely downwardly inclined locking extension 16 of the locking member 15 also has a rear inclined surface 23 as a further actuating surface, which lies opposite the front actuating surface 18 essentially parallel.
- a rear inclined surface 23 it is possible that by means of the force of the spring 21 via the front part 4a of the lock tongue 4 acting on the locking extension 16 ejector 20 presses the locking member 15 when the release button 3 has unlocked the locking member.
- the locking position of the locking member 15 is effected according to FIG. 7 by a hold-down device 24 which is held in a hold-down function (working position) by a leaf-shaped compression spring 25 mounted on the lock frame 9, where it comes into direct contact with the top of the locking member 15.
- the pelvic belt-side area of the lock housing 2 is closed in such a way that the usual strap eyelet 10 of the lock frame 9 is covered for the lap belt 26. This will protect the strap attachment loop.
- the buckle 1 described above works as follows.
- the lock tongue is inserted into the lock housing 2 in an uninclined position, the mechanism of which is in the position according to FIG. 6.
- the part 4a of the lock tongue 4 first pushes the ejector 20 back against the force of the spring 21 until the control member 7 of the end piece 6 comes to rest against the actuating surface 18 of the locking member 15.
- a further pressure on the lock tongue 4 causes the oblique locking extension 16 and thus the locking member 15 to be pressed down by a corresponding force component of the latching force exerted by the control element 7 and thereby get into the latching opening 17 of the lock tongue.
- the spring 25 now presses the hold-down device 24 forward into its working position, where it essentially comes to bear against the upper side of the locking member 15 and thus prevents the locking member 15 from disengaging. If the belt buckle 1 is to be opened again, the release button 3 is also exerted according to the arrow 27 in FIG. 7, which moves the hold-down device 24 into a rear position, so that the force of the compression spring 21 for the ejector 20 now takes effect and causes the web 4a of the lock tongue 4 can push the locking extension 16 due to its rear oblique actuating surface 23 upward, so that the lock tongue 4 is then ejected from the lock housing 2 by the ejector 20, the ejector simultaneously coming under the locking extension, so that this remains in its open position.
Abstract
