Definitions
- the invention relates to an absorption silencer backdrop.
- Such absorption silencers are suitable for the damping of sound waves in flowing gases containing moisture dust, which tends to stick.
- an absorption silencer backdrop which has an absorption plate held by a backdrop frame, the absorption material being coated with a binder in order to stabilize the fibers on the surface of the absorption material.
- the AU-A-407 054 also shows an absorption silencer backdrop.
- a thin material such as a film, is applied directly to the surface of the absorption material.
- the object of the present invention is to dampen the sound waves in a moist and dusty flowing gas in a wide frequency range, the associated Absorption muffler backdrop should also be used in moist gases that tend to stick to dust, without the effectiveness of the muffler being reduced due to the deposits of dust particles.
- the absorption silencer backdrop is described by the features of claim 1.
- the absorption silencer backdrop according to the invention comprises, as is customary in the case of such backdrops, a backdrop frame which can consist, for example, of metal, such as steel or aluminum, or of plastic.
- a backdrop frame which can consist, for example, of metal, such as steel or aluminum, or of plastic.
- the usual precautions can be taken on the link frame (profile frame), which facilitate the assembly and sealing of the silencer link at the place of action; it can contain, for example, bores with or without threads, mounting brackets, rails, seals, such as, for example, rubber-elastic or spring-elastic sealing lips.
- the absorption material which usually consists of rock, mineral or glass wool, is located within the backdrop frame; other absorption materials are conceivable, but mostly less inexpensive. The absorption material is held down by a support structure without being firmly connected to it.
- a film is firmly connected to the support structure.
- This film can be glued to the support structure.
- the laminating film and the support structure can also consist of one piece; the laminating film can be provided with a support structure during the manufacturing process, for example with ribs and the like.
- the support structure should not only hold down the absorbent material, it also has the task of the lamination film with the it is firmly connected to give sufficient support, for example to prevent destruction by excessive fluttering of the film at high flow velocities of the gas in which the sound waves are to be damped.
- the support structure can consist of the same material as the laminating film, but it can also consist of one or more other materials. Examples of usable materials are metals and their alloys, such as. As aluminum, aluminum alloy such as duralumin and steels, and their mixtures.
- the support structure can for example have the shape of a perforated plate, a grid or one or more strips or ribs. The support structure should only cover a small proportion of the inner surface of the film. If it is not provided with a support structure during its manufacturing process, the laminating film can, for example, be glued, welded or sintered onto the support structure.
- the laminating film In order to achieve good sound absorption, the laminating film must be largely transparent to the sound waves to be damped.
- the laminating film can be a thin metal film, but it can also consist of plastic, for example polyethylene, PVC or PTFE.
- plastic for example polyethylene, PVC or PTFE.
- the film is essentially smooth on the gas side in order not to promote the agglomeration of sticky particles on its surface. In the same sense, bumps on the gas side, such as screw or rivet heads resting on the film, should be avoided. So that the sound waves can penetrate the absorption material largely unhindered, the film is only firmly connected to the support structure with a small part of its surface facing away from the gas side.
- the Foil coated on the gas side or chemically or physically modified for example to increase their corrosion resistance or their liability-repellent effect.
- FIGS. 1a, b A special embodiment of the device according to the invention is outlined in FIGS. 1a, b.
- the film 1 is an approximately 50 ⁇ m thick PTFE film.
- the film is attached to a 3 mm thick perforated plate 2 made of PVC using a silicone adhesive.
- the absorption silencer backdrop has the outer dimensions 1000 mm x 1000 mm.
- Each of the two perforated plates has 52 circular openings 5 of 118 mm in diameter.
- the absorption material 4 consists of mineral wool, the backdrop frame 3 made of aluminum.
- the perforated plates are connected to the backdrop frame by rivets (Fig.1a), the joints are sealed with sealing compound.
- the insertion loss of silencers (cf. VDI 2567) with the described scenes corresponds to the insertion loss of silencers with scenes, the absorption material of which is covered with a similar film, but is held on the outside by a grille.
- the backdrop described was used for 2 1/2 years in humid air containing PVC dust or the like. Flow rate operated. There was no significant dust deposit on the backdrop. The insertion loss did not change.
