- Swing doors have long been used, particularly in the industrial sector, which have elastic door panels made of transparent plastic and which can be driven on by vehicles, each opening in the direction of travel. Although such swing doors generally work well, there are certain disadvantages in special cases. If, for example, a swing door is to be installed together with a fire door, there is a risk that an open wing of the swing door will prevent the fire door from closing. This can be prevented by simply opening the swing door on one side, but this is undesirable for safety reasons because the door must then open against one of the directions of travel.
