Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cooling rack with devices for cooling and circulating cooling air, with a rear wall which has an air duct and at least one outlet opening for cooling air connected to the front wall thereof, and with one or more shelves.
  • Such a cooling shelf has become known from German Offenlegungsschrift 2 909 860. It is preferably used for cooling and storing food.
  • a cold air flow is generated, in which, for example, a forced air flow is passed over a refrigerant evaporator and cools down in the process.
  • the cold air flow passes through the ventilation duct in the rear wall to the outlet openings and from there reaches the goods on the shelves, which are cooled by the cold air flow.
  • the cold air flows forward along the shelves and falls down at the front edge, creating a cold air curtain that prevents warm ambient air from entering the cooling shelf.
  • the goods on the shelves prevent the cooling air curtain from being evenly distributed over the width of the cooling shelf.
  • Different stack heights and forms of packaging of the exhibited goods redirect the cooling air flow and have the effect that the cooling air curtain is reinforced in some places, reinforced in other places, weakened in other places or even interrupted.
  • the existing goods space must be fully utilized so that the cooling air curtain is interrupted.
  • Irregularities in the cooling air curtain mean that warm ambient air penetrates into the cooling shelf from the front. At least part of the goods are warmed up above the intended cooling temperature.
  • US-A-3 392 544 shows a cooling shelf according to the preamble of claim 1 with devices for cooling and circulating cooling air, in the rear wall of which an air duct is provided for the cooling air.
  • Two shelves are each made up of two plates arranged one above the other, each forming a flow channel.
  • the flow channels are connected to the air duct and open into air outlet openings on the front edge of the shelves.
  • Cooling air which is guided in the air guide duct, reaches the front of the cooling rack through the flow ducts in the shelves and forms a cold air curtain falling from top to bottom.
  • the cold air curtain prevents warm air from the surroundings from reaching the goods on the shelves. However, only a small part of the cold air gets directly to the goods on the shelves in order to cool them. Most of the air falls down in front of the shelves without passing the goods to be cooled.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object to develop a cooling shelf of the type mentioned, in which a uniform distribution of the cooling air flow is ensured on the goods located on the shelves.
  • This object is achieved in that the rear edge of the lower plate protrudes beyond the rear edge of the upper plate and that each opening arranged in the region of the rear wall is flowed through by the cooling air from the cooling air.
  • the flow channel in the shelf is not directly connected to the air duct in the rear wall of the cooling shelf, but is in flow connection with the cooled space in front of the rear wall.
  • the cooling air flowing out of the air outlet openings in the rear wall thus at least partly reaches the goods located on the shelves.
  • the cooling air flow guided inside the shelf is not influenced by the goods stacked on the shelf, so that the cooling air flow emerging at the front opening creates a uniform cooling air curtain.
  • the subject of the invention on the one hand creates a uniform cooling air curtain on the front of the cooling shelf and on the other hand ensures sufficient cooling of the goods on the shelf.
  • the shelf is easy and inexpensive to manufacture according to the invention.
  • the flow path is formed by two plates arranged one above the other.
  • the front edge of the upper plate projects beyond the front edge of the lower plate.
  • the front opening points downward and favors the cooling air outlet to form the cooling air curtain.
  • lamellae or open-cell foam are arranged in the front opening for air guidance.
  • the function of the fins or the foam is to distribute the cooling air flow as evenly as possible.
  • the shelf is adjustable in height.
  • the goods space above and below the shelf can be adapted particularly well to the respective circumstances.
  • the shelf can be adjusted so that the height of the goods space below it is just sufficient to accommodate the goods to be accommodated there.
  • the cooling air curtain generated is thereby as short and as effective as possible.
  • the shelf has thermal insulation.
  • the shelf can carry a lighting device on its underside.
  • the shelf carries a storage ledge on its front edge.
  • the storage ledge which is preferably made of a transparent material, for example glass, prevents the goods located on the shelf from sliding down and ensures favorable cooling air distribution.
  • At least one further shelf is provided between the air outlet opening and the shelf, the rear edge of which extends at a distance from the rear wall.
  • the cooling air flow emerging from the air outlet opening flows partly over the further shelf, while the other part of the cooling air flow flows behind the further shelf along the rear wall to the opening of the shelf located underneath.
  • a retractable container is arranged below the shelf.
  • FIG. 1 shows two exemplary embodiments of a cooling shelf according to the invention
  • Figures 3 and 4 show two embodiments of a shelf.
  • the cooling shelf according to FIG. 1 has a rear wall 1, which is composed of a thermal insulation 2, a panel 3 arranged at a distance in front of it and a partition 4 arranged between the panel 3 and the thermal insulation 2.
  • a first air duct 5 is formed by the thermal insulation 2 and the partition 4.
  • a second air duct 6 is located between the partition 4 and the cladding 3. The bottom of the first air duct 5 is open to the environment, while the second air duct 6 is closed.
  • the cooling shelf is closed at its top by a ceiling 7, which contains a cavity 8.
  • the cavity 8 is on the one hand in flow connection with the first air duct 5 and on the other hand with the second air duct 6.
  • a fan 9 for circulating cooling air and an evaporator 10 for cooling cooling air are provided in the cavity 8.
  • Air outlet opening 11 is provided in the lower front area of the ceiling 7. Air outlet openings 12, 13 are also provided in the upper and lower part of the panel 3, which forms the front of the rear wall 1.
  • Two shelves 14, 15 are provided in the cooling shelf below the air outlet opening 12.
  • the shelf 14 is arranged at a distance from the panel 3, so that a gap 16 is formed between its rear edge and the panel 3.
  • the shelf 15 is composed of two plates 17, 18 arranged one above the other at a distance. Spacers 19 are provided between the two plates.
  • the plates 17, 18 are arranged offset from one another, the lower plate 18 reaching up to the panel 3, while the upper plate 17 is displaced forward (to the right in the drawing). In this way, the two plates 17, 18 form a gap-like opening 20 pointing upwards in their rear region and a gap-like opening 21 pointing downwards in their front region.
  • the two openings 20, 21 are delimited by a plate 17, 18 Flow channel 22 connected to each other.
  • the shelf 15 also has a heat-insulating support 23, on its underside an illumination device 24 and on its front upper edge a storage bar 25 made of transparent material, for example glass.
  • a container 26 is arranged below the shelf 15.
  • the cooling shelf functions as follows: air is drawn into the first air duct 5 from the surroundings by the fan 9 (arrows 27). The sucked-in air flows through the evaporator 10 and is cooled in the process. Part of the cooling air flows through the air outlet opening 11 and falls down as a cooling air curtain at the front of the cooling shelf (arrows 28).
  • Another part of the cooling air flow flows into the second air duct 6 and from there via the air outlet openings 12, 13 into the cooling shelf. While the cooling air, which exits through the air outlet opening 13, only cools the goods located in the container 26, part of the cooling air from the air outlet opening 12 reaches the goods standing on the shelf 14 and cools them. Another part of the cooling air from the air outlet opening 12 flows down along the cladding through the gap 16 and reaches the flow path 22 via the opening 20. It leaves the shelf via the opening 21 and generates a cold air curtain falling from there (arrow 29).
  • the bottom 15 thus serves to guide and distribute cooling air.
  • a uniform cooling air curtain is generated by the cooling air flowing out of the opening 21, which prevents warm ambient air from entering in the lower region of the cooling shelf.
  • This cooling air curtain is not affected or hindered by goods placed on the shelves 14 and 15. 2
  • the cooling shelf has a rear wall 1, which is composed of thermal insulation 2 and a panel 3 arranged at a distance from it.
  • An air duct 30 is formed between the heat insulation 2 and the cladding 3.
  • the cooling shelf has shelves 14, 15 which are arranged in front of the panel 3.
  • each of the partial cooling air streams emerging from the air outlet openings 12 cools the goods arranged on the shelf 14, 15 located underneath and falls down in front of the front edge of the shelves 14, 15 (arrows 31).
  • the shelf 15 has at its rear edge a gap-like opening 20, through which part of the cooling air flowing out of the air outlet opening 12 above it reaches the flow channel 22 located inside the shelf 15. This quantity of cooling air flows out through the gap-like opening 21 at the front edge of the shelf 15 and creates an air curtain falling downward (arrow 29). In contrast to the air curtain indicated by the arrows 31, this cooling air curtain is not influenced by the goods arranged on the shelves 14, 15.
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 show two embodiments of the shelf 15. According to FIG. 3, slats 32 are arranged in the opening 21 between the two plates 17, 18. According to FIG. 4, an open-pore foam 33 is arranged in the opening 21. The air flow is indicated by arrows in both figures.
