Abstract

Articulated butt joint for suspended rails of a monorail suspended railway, wherein the connection between the lower flanges is deformable as to be horizontal and vertical transverse forces and wherein the connection between the upper flanges absorbs the horizontal and vertical transverse forces. The aim of the present invention is to provide a butt joint which is more appropriate to withstand the transverse forces generated by the vehicle weight and to further reduce to the minimum the inevitable impact forces upon overrunning the expansion gap, as well as their negative consequences. To this effect, the present invention proposes that the linking elements (5) between the upper flanges be comprised of suspension metal plates (10) secured to the upper flanges, overlapping each other in the longitudinal direction of the rails and provided in the overlapping area with longitudinal holes (11) covering each other and tapered as an arc of a circle and intended to receive a suspension bolt (12), the medial point (13) being located in the middle of the expansion gap and at the height of the rolling surfaces on the upper side of the lower flange.

Description

The invention relates to an articulated butt joint for hanging rails of monorails with vehicle wheels running on the lower flanges, in which connecting means are provided between the upper flanges, which are used to suspend the rails in the region of the rail joint and are guided in a circular arc so that they pivot the rails allow in the vertical longitudinal center plane around a joint in the area of the lower flanges and transfer vertical and horizontal transverse forces from one rail end to the other, whereby the joint in the area of the lower flanges is tensile in the longitudinal direction of the rail, but is flexible against vertical and horizontal transverse forces.

In a butt joint of the type mentioned in the prior art (DE-C-24 19062), the connecting means in the region of the upper flanges consist of an arc-shaped pin assigned to one rail end, which engages in a guide eye assigned to the other rail end, which at the same time engages with a Suspension hook is provided for the suspension of the rails in the area of the rail joint. The center of the circular arc lies below the lower flange at the level of the joint located there that connects the lower flanges. This joint between the lower flanges has a tensile screw bolt running in the longitudinal direction of the rail, which engages with horizontal and vertical play on the fastening elements associated with the adjacent lower flanges and is held under tension by a prestressed elastic filler arranged between the two rails.

This prior art butt joint has the advantage that only slight impact loads occur in the area of the gap between the lower flanges because the elastic filler located between the rails dampens the inevitable impacts. The formation of the connection between the lower flanges, which is flexible against lateral forces, has the advantage that wear due to lateral forces in the area of the lower flange connection cannot occur, but assumes that the connection in the area of the upper flanges is designed in such a way that it absorbs all lateral forces, particularly those caused by the weight of the vehicles caused vertical shear forces.

The operation of monorail monorails is progressively progressing from cable-drawn train units to self-propelled train units with monorail locomotives. This leads to considerably increased vehicle weights and to a different type of load on the rail connection, because in addition to the vehicle weight, the tensile forces that would otherwise be absorbed by the pull rope must also be supported. For the absorption of tensile forces, the rail connection according to the generic term is particularly well suited due to the special construction of the connecting means in the area of the lower flanges, because it remains largely free of play due to the prestressed elastic intermediate piece, so that there is practically no wear. Because of the increased vehicle weights, however, difficulties arise in the area of the connecting means between the upper flanges. Because the suspension in the area of the butt joint only takes place on one of the abutting rail ends, the curved guide pin alone has to transmit the entire transverse forces caused by the vehicle weight. In addition, the impact forces that unavoidably occur when crossing the impact gap act on the curved guide pin and its guide via a relatively long lever arm. Once the curved guide pin and / or its guide has deformed - even if only slightly - as a result of these loads, further wear progresses quickly, because then there is progressively greater shock loads due to the height offset of the running surfaces of the lower flanges.

According to the state of the art (DE-B-25 08 739) an articulated butt joint for suspension rails of monorails is also known, in which below the lower flanges a transverse joint absorbing the transverse forces with a joint bolt extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the rail and overlapping one another in the longitudinal direction of the rail between the upper flanges Suspension plates are provided, which are provided in the overlap area with elongated holes widened in the longitudinal direction of the rail, which serve to receive a suspension bolt. However, the connection between the upper flanges designed in this way has the disadvantage that it can only be used in combination with connecting means which absorb the transverse forces between the lower flanges. Otherwise there is a risk that if one of the rails bends in the vertical longitudinal plane, there will be a height offset between the abutting rails.

It is an object of the invention to develop the butt joint according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that it is better suited to transmitting the lateral forces caused by the vehicle weight, and also reduces the inevitable impact forces when crossing the gap and their harmful effects to a minimum . To achieve this object, the invention proposes, starting from an articulated butt joint according to the preamble of claim 1, that the connecting means between the upper flanges consist of hanging plates attached to the upper flanges, which overlap in the longitudinal direction of the rail and are provided with overlapping, elongated, arc-shaped elongated holes in the overlap region , which are used to hold a suspension bolt, with the center of the two arcs in the middle of the gap and at the height of the treads on the top of the lower flanges of the rails.

The butt joint according to the invention initially has the advantage that both suspension brackets are connected directly to the suspension bolt, so that the transverse forces caused by the vehicle weight do not need to be transmitted from one rail end to the other. Rather, these transverse forces are introduced from each rail end directly into the suspension bolts via the associated suspension plates. Furthermore, the arrangement of the centers of the arcs of the elongated holes in the middle of the butt gap and in the height of the treads on the top of the lower flanges has the advantage that the butt gap to be traveled over by the vehicle wheels remains minimally narrow in all possible angular positions of the rail in the vertical swivel plane and that the reaction forces generated by the embrasures of the two elongated holes are directed towards the center of the gap at the level of the treads, d. H. exactly to the point from which the impact forces generated when crossing the impact gap originate. As a result, the impact forces which inevitably occur when the impact gap is passed over produce practically no additional tensile or compressive stresses which would have to be absorbed by the connection between the lower flanges. Further advantages of the butt joint according to the invention lie in the recognizable robust and simple construction and in the particularly simple manufacture, because the only important thing in the manufacture is the dimensional accuracy of the circular-shaped elongated holes in relation to the upper side of the lower flanges, but also considerable manufacturing tolerances can be approved.

A particularly preferred embodiment of the butt joint according to the invention provides that the suspension plates are arranged at one end of the rail on one side of the vertical longitudinal center plane of the rail and at the other end on the opposite side of the vertical longitudinal center plane of the rail. In this way, the rails at both ends of the rails have a completely identical configuration reversed by 180 °, so that the rails do not have to be turned over during installation, regardless of how they were transported. This is of great importance especially in narrow mining routes. Another advantage of this embodiment is that each individual rail can be laterally removed and replaced from the tensioned rail track.

The hanging bolt is conveniently carried by a shackle that encompasses the two hanging plates. In this way, the two suspension plates are guided in a particularly simple manner against lateral transverse forces. Against such horizontal transverse forces, however, other suitable guide means can also be provided.

In order to keep the specific surface pressure between the suspension bolt and the embrasures of the elongated holes as low as possible, it is further provided that the suspension bolt is flattened on its upward-facing side, the flattening being adapted to the curve radius of the embrasure of the elongated holes. In this way, the suspension forces are distributed over a relatively large area, so that deformations on the surface of the bolt and / or on the perforations of the elongated holes are not to be feared, even with large loads.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing.

In the drawing, the abutting rail sections are designated by the reference numerals 1 and 2. The rails are I-beams, the web of which is arranged vertically, so that the upward-facing surfaces of the lower flanges form the running surfaces 3 for the vehicle wheels of the monorail overhead conveyor. The butt joint consists of a joint arranged in the area of the lower flanges, which is designated in its entirety by reference number 4, and the connecting means arranged in the area of the upper flanges, which are referred to in their entirety by reference number S.

Zwischen dem Schraubenbolzen 7 und den Bohrungen in den Befestigungsblöcken 6 ist sowohl in horizontaler als auch in vertikaler Richtung das für die Abwinkelung der Schienenabschnitte 1The joint in the area of the lower flanges has two fastening blocks 6, which are welded under the lower flanges of the rail sections 1 and 2, respectively. In each fastening block 6 there is a bore running in the longitudinal direction of the rail through which a screw bolt 7 extending in the longitudinal direction of the rail is inserted. Between the screw bolt 7 and the bores in the mounting blocks 6 is that for the bending of the rail sections 1 in both the horizontal and vertical directions

Between the mounting blocks 6, a filler 8 is arranged, which is placed on the screw bolt 7 and fills the gap between the lower flanges of the rail sections 2 and 3. A nut 9, which is designed to be self-locking, is screwed onto the end of the screw bolt 7. As can be seen from the drawing, by tightening the nut 9 the filler 8 located in the gap can be prestressed. Due to the play between the bolt 7 and the bores in the mounting blocks 6, the rail sections 1 and 2 can pivot against each other, the pivot axis not being determined by the construction of the joint 4, but solely by the construction of the connecting means 5 between the upper flanges explained below . The joint 4 only absorbs tensile forces, but not transverse forces directed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the rail.

The connecting means 5 between the upper flanges consist of suspension plates 10 which are welded onto the upper flanges of the abutting rail sections 1 and 2 and overlap in the longitudinal direction of the rail. In the overlap area, the suspension plates 10 are provided with overlapping, elongated, arc-shaped elongated holes 11, which serve to receive a suspension bolt 12. The center point 13 of the two arcs lies in the middle of the abutment gap and at the height of the treads 3 on the upper side of the lower flanges of the rail sections 1 and 2. The suspension bolt 12 is flattened on its upward-facing side, the flattened portion 12a circular arch reveal of the elongated holes 11 is adapted.

As can be seen from FIG. 3, the suspension plates are arranged at one end of each rail section 1 or 2 on one side of the vertical longitudinal center plane and at the other end on the opposite side of the vertical longitudinal center plane. As a result, the rail maintains its configuration when rotated by 180 ° about a central axis running perpendicular to the plane of the paper, so that the rail can be installed in both directions.

The suspension bolt 12 is carried by a shackle 14 which engages around and holds the two suspension plates to be fastened together.

To assemble the parts shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the suspension bolt 12 is pulled out of the shackle 14. Then the shackle 14 is placed over the two suspension plates 10 so that the bolt eyes in the shackle 14 are aligned with the two elongated holes 11. Finally, the suspension bolt 12 is inserted and secured against falling out by suitable securing means 15.
