Definitions
- the invention relates to a liquid ring pump with a control disc arranged between the impeller housing and the housing cover provided with a pressure port, in which pump a hollow line serving to supply ballast gas is also connected in the pressure chamber to an opening provided in addition to the pressure slot on the control disc.
- Such a liquid ring pump is known from DE-PS 284 674.
- a pipe is connected in the pressure chamber to an opening provided on the control disk, through which ballast gas can be introduced into the wheel cells under certain pressure conditions, so that a pressure corresponding to the atmospheric pressure is achieved at the pressure slot if possible. Since the gas to be pumped reaches a pressure exceeding the atmospheric pressure considerably before the pressure slot is reached even with a low vacuum at the intake port, part of the gas to be pumped and possibly also liquid would escape through the pipe. For this reason, an automatically acting check valve is installed in the pipe, which prevents such escape.
- the invention has for its object to develop a liquid ring pump of the type described above so that a check valve, which ultimately also represents an additional source of interference, for the hollow line can be dispensed with.
- the object is achieved according to the invention in that the hollow line with its free end on a essentially from the gas to be pumped, located above the liquid level, opens out in the pressure range.
- gas and possibly also liquid are expelled into the pump circuit via the hollow line. If there is a negative pressure in the area of the opening, gas is drawn in from the circuit and fed to the pump wheel as ballast gas.
- the opening itself fulfills a double function. It serves as a pressure opening during a certain operating state and otherwise as a bypass opening for introducing the ballast gas.
- a structurally particularly simple solution is that a niche is provided on the housing cover, which is designed and arranged according to the operating position of the pump such that a gas bubble forms in the niche above the liquid level during operation of the pump and that the hollow line over the Liquid level flows into the niche.
- this hollow line can already be arranged in the pressure chamber during the manufacture of the pump, so that no subsequent connection work at the place of use of the pump is necessary.
- the hollow line opens into the pressure line connected to the pressure connection or into a liquid separator connected downstream of the pump, pumps which have already been installed can be retrofitted with a hollow line without any design changes.
- liquid ring pumps with pressure openings additionally controlled by valves it is possible to connect the hollow line to one of these pressure openings by omitting the valve.
- the connection of the waveguide is simplified in that a nipple is inserted into the corresponding pressure opening and the hollow line is attached to this nipple.
- a secure attachment of the nipple without the need for separate fastening parts is possible in that the nipple is supported on the catch plate of the valves designed as elastic tongues.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 designates a housing cover on which a suction nozzle 2 and a pressure nozzle 3 are formed.
- a control disk 4 is inserted, which has a suction slot 5 and a pressure slot 6.
- additional pressure openings 7 are provided in front of the pressure slot, which are covered by elastic tongues 8.
- These elastic tongues 8 thus form valves for these additional pressure openings 7.
- the elastic tongues 8 are supported by a catch plate 17 arranged above them, which is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 for the sake of clarity is not shown.
- a hollow line 9 is connected to one of the pressure openings 7 and opens with its free end 10 into a niche 11 provided in the housing cover.
- the niche 11 is formed by an extension 12 of one side wall of the pressure port 3.
- ballast gas can flow into the pump chamber via the hollow line 9 and the corresponding pressure opening 7, which is not provided with a valve. If, on the other hand, there is overpressure in the area of the corresponding pressure opening 7 in a certain operating state of the pump, then gas and possibly also liquid are expelled via this pressure opening 7. The gas collects in the niche 11 and the ejected liquid reaches the liquid present in the pressure chamber. There is therefore no need to close the hollow pipe by means of a check valve.
- FIG. 2 differs from that shown in FIG. 1 in that the hollow line 9 is guided into a liquid separator 13 connected downstream of the liquid ring pump.
- the free end 10 of the hollow line 9 is arranged above the liquid level 14, so that ballast gas can flow into the pump chamber via the hollow line 9 under appropriate pressure conditions at the liquid ring pump.
- gas and possibly also liquid can in turn be expelled into the liquid separator 13 via the hollow line 9. Since the attachment of the hollow line 9 does not require any structural changes apart from a possible shortening of the elastic tongue 8 assigned to the corresponding pressure opening 7, the hollow line 9 can also be attached at any time even with already installed liquid ring pumps.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 show in particular a possibility of connecting the hollow line 9 to the pressure opening 7.
- a nipple 15 is inserted, which has a tube extension 16 onto which the hollow line 9 is attached.
- the nipple 15 is clamped under the catch plate 17 provided for the elastic tongues 8.
- the nipple 15 can therefore not be pressed out of the pressure opening 7.
- 4 also shows the separating web 18 formed on the housing cover 1, by means of which the suction space 19 provided in the housing cover is separated from the pressure space 20 also provided in the housing cover.
- FIG. 5 another connection possibility of the hollow line 9 is shown.
- a bushing 21 is mounted on the housing cover 1 and has on the inside of the housing cover 1 an extension designed as a tube piece 22, the end 23 of which is inserted into a pressure opening 7 of the control disk 4.
- the hollow line 9 is plugged onto the end 24 of the bushing 21 located on the outside of the housing cover 1. From here, the hollow line 9 is then guided to a point above the liquid level. Because of this outside Connection point for the hollow line 9, this can be laid in a simple manner outside the pump and the pipelines, which means that installation is considerably easier, in particular in the case of a subsequent installation.

Abstract
Description
