Definitions
- the invention relates to a chuck for non-circular shaft ends of tool inserts, in particular screwdriver bits, with a sleeve corresponding to the non-circular cross-section in its cavity and a ball acting on the shaft, which is assigned a sleeve which can be displaced against spring action in such a way that one towards the free end downward wedge-shaped clamping surface presses on the ball, the sleeve which can be shifted to the release position in the insertion direction of the shaft in a projecting wing receives the ball and the clamping surface sits on the inner flank of an end ring comprising the sleeve and the wing.
- the advantages of such a configuration consist essentially in the fact that when the sleeve is displaced even if the chuck is not sufficiently firmly seated in the holder of a drilling machine, the chuck is not moved out of the holder.
- the wing is integrally connected to the sleeve. Since the wing corresponds to a segment that defines the non-circular cross section of the bush, the sleeve can only be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the chuck (DE-OS 32 43 389).
- the object of the invention is based on the object of developing a chuck of this type in such a way that, with the same size, a higher torque can be transmitted with improved adjustment and handling.
- wing and sleeve are configured in two parts to one another and the bushing on the other side of the wing forms a ring zone which is continuous in cross section and is encompassed by the end ring.
- a chuck is specified which is distinguished on the one hand by a more stable design and on the other hand by improved handling.
- the more stable design results from the fact that the sleeve is closed beyond its recess receiving the wing, forming the continuous ring zone encompassed by the end ring.
- the chuck can therefore safely transmit higher torques.
- the area of attack for the end ring through the ring zone is also increased, with the result that the ring is better seated on the bushing. Since the wing and sleeve are now in two parts, the sleeve can twist relative to the sleeve. This brings advantages in the adjustment, that is to say when the screwdriver bit is attached to a screw, since the sleeve can be held with one hand while the sleeve rotates with the screwdriver bit seated in it.
- the inner flank of the ring zone has the polygonal shape in an angular position to the polygonal surfaces of the cavity of the sleeve.
- the polygonal surfaces of the sleeve which accordingly continue into the ring zone, lead to a stable fit of the screwdriver bit in the sleeve itself.
- the wing has an outwardly directed tab which engages over an inwardly directed shoulder of the sleeve and forms part of the support surface for the sleeve spring.
- the shoulder takes the tab and thus the wing with it, the ball of which comes into a release position.
- the sleeve spring After releasing the sleeve, the sleeve spring returns the sleeve and the wing to the basic position. The assembly can be very just do it. For the time being, the sleeve spring is pushed onto the sleeve.
- the wing is inserted in such a way that part of the sleeve spring is supported on the outwardly directed tab of the wing.
- the sleeve is to be pushed open at this point and the end ring is to be clamped.
- the chuck has a bushing 1 continuing at its upper end into a clamping pin 2. From the free end 1 'of the bushing 1, a hollow 3 with a non-circular cross section is incorporated. In the present case, it is a hexagonal cross section which is adapted to that of the shaft 4 of a screwdriver bit 5. Regarding the latter, it is one for Phillips screws.
- the sleeve 1 is stepped.
- a shoulder 6 is produced, on which one end of a helical compression spring 7 supported on the end 1 'is supported.
- the other end of it finds one Stop on an inwardly directed shoulder 8 of a sleeve 9 which is arranged both longitudinally displaceably and rotatably on the sleeve 1.
- Part of the supporting surface for this other end of the helical compression spring 7 is formed by an outwardly directed tab 20 of a wing 10 ", which tab 20 according to the spring load against the Shoulder 8.
- the latter connects two guide surfaces F and F 1 of sleeve 9 of different sizes.
- One guide surface F 1 slides on the stepped end 1 'of the sleeve, while the other guide surface F encompasses the part of the sleeve which is larger in cross section.
- the wing 10 ′′ coupled with the sleeve 9 is designed in the form of a segment in cross section in such a way that its inner flat surface 10 ′ is flush with a flank of the cavity 3.
- the end 1 ′ of the bush 1 is provided with a recess 11 ′. provided so that the wing 10 "with the remaining cross-section of the end 1 'at the same height complements to a circular shape, see Fig. 4.
- the length of the recess 11' is greater than the length of the wing 10".
- the recess 11 ' ends at a distance from the free end edge of the end 1', so that the sleeve 1 forms a ring zone Z which has a cross-section beyond the wing 10 ".
- wing 10 ′′ there is a bearing bore 12 arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sleeve 9 for receiving a ball 13.
- the diameter of the ball 13 is larger than the thickness of the wing 10 ′′ lying in the radial direction. Falling out of the ball 13 from the bearing bore 12 is prevented by an inward edge R. However, it is ensured that the ball 13 has sufficient play in the radial direction.
- the inner flank 3 'of the ring zone Z has a polygonal shape, in an angular position to the polygonal surfaces of the cavity 3, so that this also gives an enlarged contact surface for the shaft 4 of the screwdriver bit 5.
- Both the ring zone Z of the sleeve 1 and the wing 10 "are encompassed by an end ring 14. This is clamped on the ring zone Z and the adjoining region of the end 1 ', in such a way that the wing 10" of this Clamp seat is not recorded, but retains its free mobility.
- the end ring 14 forms an inner clamping surface 15 which slopes in a wedge shape towards the free end and with which it presses against the ball 13.
- the clamping surface 15 continues via a step 16 into a cavity 17 which is adapted to the outer circumference of a stepped free end 9 'of the sleeve 9 while allowing the sleeve 9 to move freely.
- the shoulder 8 of the sleeve 9 acts on the tab 20 of the wing 10 ′′ and takes it with the ball 13 therein, which then comes out of the clamping position between the clamping surface 15 and the shaft 4, see FIG. 5.
- the screwdriver bit 5 can If the screwdriver bit 5 has been removed, the compression spring 7 returns the sleeve together with the wing 10 "to the basic position, the sleeve 9 stepping against the upper end edge 14 'of the end ring 14 with a step 18'.
- the tab 20 then acts on the shoulder 8.
- the wing When the screwdriver bit 5 is inserted, the wing can still be displaced by a certain amount within the recess 11 'in the direction of the ring zone Z with the effect of a re-tensioning effect. Accordingly, when the screwdriver bit 5 is inserted, the tab 20 also lies at a short distance in front of the shoulder 8 of the sleeve 9.
Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 in Übereinanderdarstellung die Einzelteile des Spannfutters,
Fig. 4.
Fig. 5.
