Description

The present invention relates to a set of profiles for the production of windows, French windows, doors, partitions, curtain walls and the like.

More particularly, the invention relates to a set of profiles of the aforementioned type which can be made of plastic or a synthetic material. However, the profiles of the present invention may be made of any material, for example aluminum, wood, composite materials or other commonly used material.

Windows, doors or the like known to date generally include frames intended to support and maintain the glass volume or the like. The frames are chosen for their rigidity and mechanical strength, and are made of an opaque material which reduces the transparent surface accordingly. An example of such structures is described in document FR-A-2108909: the opening elements comprise a volume bordered on two horizontal sides and a vertical side by a profile supporting seals, the lower horizontal profile being able to receive rollers ; the frames comprise a low cross member and two uprights of the same section, comprising two longitudinal grooves in which the profiles supporting the seals engage; the second vertical side of the window is bordered by a mechanically resistant profile forming stiffening reinforcement and operating handle.

Known frames can be used to make double windows, that is to say with a frame and a glass fixed to the building a few centimeters from the pre-existing window. However, they are ill-suited to such applications because they lead to a significant reduction in the transparent glazed surface, and they are difficult to apply to the walls of the building because the surfaces of this building are generally irregular.

The object of the present invention is in particular to provide a new frame structure for doors, French windows, windows or walls which are particularly well suited to the production of double windows, closings for loggias, balconies or verandas: this new frame structure includes fixing means, the use of which is particularly simple, adapting to all types of surfaces, with the possibility of correcting non-linearities. The frame structure has uprights and cross members of which the section is minimal, thus defining an opaque surface of reduced dimensions for the adaptation of a glass volume or similar as large as possible. Despite this reduction in section of the uprights, the structure has sufficient mechanical strength, by its particular design.

In the description and the claims which follow, the term “volume” means a panel, plate or the like, in particular made of glass or of synthetic materials, forming a wall; for example a simple glass pane, a glass, an insulating glass.

Another object of the invention is to produce this frame structure from the smallest possible number of profiles.

Another object of the invention is to be able to produce, with the same set of profiles, openings, frames, and fixed parts.

To achieve these and other objects, the present invention provides a new frame structure incorporating the characteristics described in FR-A-2 108 909, and in which the openings comprise a thick volume, bordered on two horizontal sides and a vertical side with a thin support profile for seals. The frames include a low cross member and two uprights of the same section, comprising two longitudinal grooves in which the thin profiles supporting the seals are completely housed. The frames also include a two-part upper cross member, this upper cross member having for example the same section as the lower cross member when the two parts are assembled; a first fixed part rabbet form with an L-shaped profile, one branch of which is applied against the wall of the building and the other branch of which is beaten and an outer sash guide; a second, removable part has a U-shaped section with a first branch defining with the rebate a longitudinal groove to receive a thin opening profile, and the space between the two branches defining a second longitudinal groove of the same section to receive a second thin sash profile. Thus, unlike known frames, the mechanical resistance is ensured by the frame profiles, the thin opening profiles having no mechanical functions, but only a support function for the seals or the rollers. They also provide a security function by bordering the edge of the volume. A single vertical profile reinforces the rigidity of the opening window, and at the same time serves as an operating handle.

The sashes are mounted on the frames by tilting the sash, inserting its lower edge in the corresponding lower groove of the sash, straightening the sash and bringing back the removable part of the upper crosspiece to enclose the upper edge of the opening.

  • - la figure 1 est une coupe verticale transversale d'une structure de fenêtre selon la présente invention;
  • - la figure 2 est une coupe horizontale de la même fenêtre;
  • - la figure 3 représente en perspective l'assemblage des profilés minces en partie basse d'ouvrants;
  • - la figure 4 représente en perspective l'assemblage des profilés minces en partie haute d'ouvrants;
Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the following description of a particular embodiment, given in conjunction with the attached figures, among which:
  • - Figure 1 is a vertical cross section of a window structure according to the present invention;
  • - Figure 2 is a horizontal section of the same window;
  • - Figure 3 shows in perspective the assembly of thin sections in the lower part of openings;
  • - Figure 4 shows in perspective the assembly of thin sections in the upper part of the opening;
  • - Figure 5 is intended to illustrate the mounting method of the openings according to the present invention; and
  • - Figure 6 shows the frame structure of the present invention applied to the production of fixed walls.

As shown in the figures, the sleeping frames according to the present invention are produced by assembling several different profiles. A first section 1 constituting the upper cross member of the frame, has a general L-shaped section comprising a large branch 2 and a small branch 3. The outer face 4 of the large branch 2 comprises means 5 for fixing to a building wall 6 with the interposition of a seal 7. The inner face 8 of the large branch 2 is shaped to receive a complementary profile 9 defining with the small branch 3 at least one longitudinal groove 10 for receiving an opening or a fixed part.

The additional removable profile 9 is fixed to the first profile 1 by fixing means. For example, as in the embodiment shown in the figures, provision may be made for mutually engaging ribs by clipping. One can also provide a fixing by screwing, or by any other appropriate means. The profile 9 can be in one or more parts.

To make a frame to receive an opening with two horizontally sliding panes, an additional profile 9 is used, as shown in FIG. 1, the lower face of which comprises a longitudinal groove 11 intended to receive the second part of the opening. The profile 9 thus has a U-shaped section. The first profile forms a rebate, its small branch 3 forming a battue and outer sash guide. A first branch 12 of the complementary profile 9 in U defines with the small branch 3 or rebate the longitudinal groove 10, and the space between the two branches 12 and 13 of the complementary profile 9 defining the second groove 11 to receive the opening.

In the case of the frames to receive an opening, shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, the other uprights and cross members of the frame are made of a second section 14 of generally rectangular section. This profile 14 comprises two lateral faces 15 and 16 rectilinear, a large external face 17 identical to the external face 4 of the first profile 1, and a large internal face 18 comprising two longitudinal grooves 19 and 20 whose dimensions allow them to receive the edge openings. The bottom of the grooves 19 and 20 has a longitudinal rib 21 and 22 respectively forming a rail, integrated or attached.

In the embodiment shown in the figures, the opening elements move horizontally in the grooves of the frames, a first opening being disposed in the grooves 10 and 19, a second opening in the grooves 11 and 20, each of the two opening elements being generally able to occupy half of the total opening. By extension, not shown in the figures, several leaves can be arranged in the grooves 10 and 19, and / or 11 and 20.

The frame is formed by an upper cross member 1 in the first profile, a lower cross member 14 in the second profile, and two uprights 23 and 24 in the second profile. The openings comprise a thick volume 25, for example from six to eight millimeters thick, bordered on two horizontal sides and one vertical side by a thin section 26. The section of the section 26 has two first branches 27 and 28 forming a groove 29 to receive without play the volume 25 on which the profile 26 is glued, and a base comprising for example two second branches 30 and 31 to form a reception structure for fixing accessories. The outer faces of the first branches 27 and 28 have grooves in which are brush seals 32 and 33 or equivalent.

The second vertical side of the openings is bordered by a section 34 of a fourth type, of larger section and mechanically resistant. Its section is in L, a first branch 35 of the L comprising on its edge a first longitudinal groove 36 to receive without play the volume 25 on which the profile 34 is glued. The inner face 37 of the first branch 35 has a second longitudinal groove 38 in which is attached a brush seal 39 or equivalent intended to come to bear against the edge of the second branch 40 of the section 41 of the fourth type of the second leaf. Profiles 34 and 41 are arranged in opposition as shown in FIG. 2. Their L-shaped section improves sealing by the fact that the joints are in the same plane on the four edges of the volume.

To improve the mechanical resistance of the profiles of the fourth type, these include a rigid internal reinforcement 42, for example metallic, inserted in the interior housing of the profile, as shown in FIG. 2.

In Figures 3 and 4, there is shown the method of assembling the profiles 34 and 26 around a window. This assembly is carried out by fitting into corner pieces 43 comprising a male part 44 intended to be inserted between the second branches of the profiles 26. The corner pieces 43 have external grooves to receive the seals and ensure the continuity of the seals as shown in FIG. 3. The corner pieces also include lateral external bosses 45 forming stops, coming to bear against the internal lateral faces of the frame grooves to avoid crushing the seals.

The profiles 26, as well as the corner pieces 43, have a reduced section, as shown in the figures, and are fully inserted in the corresponding grooves of the frames. Their only function is to wear the seals, and possibly to signal the volume section to avoid accidents. In addition, the lower sash crosspieces, formed from profile 26 shown in Figure 3, receive rollers 46 mounted on roller supports 47 reported between the second branches of the profile 26. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the roller supports 47 are integral with the corresponding corner pieces 43 , but could be separated from it. Roller supports 47 comprise at least two series of notches or transverse holes 48 and 49 of different depths and receiving the axes of the rollers. By moving the rollers 46 from one notch to the other, their height is thus adjusted. The roller supports 47 also include a reservation for the passage of the roller itself.

The opening of the doors on the frames is carried out as shown in Figure 5 in vertical section. The outer leaf 50 is arranged by tilting as shown in the figure, by engaging its lower cross member in the external groove of the lower cross member 14 of the frame, then by straightening it against the small upper branch of the upper cross member 1; the inner leaf 51 is then engaged in the internal groove of the lower cross member 14 while maintaining the inclined leaf, the complementary profile 9 being engaged on the upper cross member of the leaf 51. The leaf 51 is straightened and the complementary profile is fixed 9 under the inner face 8 of the upper section 1 of the frame. The dismantling of the sash is done by reverse maneuvers.

The profiles previously described for the production of frames and openings also make it possible to produce walls or fixed walls, as shown in FIG. 6. For this purpose, use of sleepers and uprights formed by profiles of the first type 1, on which relate complementary profiles of a second type 52 defining, with the small branches 3, a single longitudinal groove 53 to receive the transparent or opaque volume 54. The profile 52 comprises attachment means for fixing it on the inner face 8 of the profile 1. Seals 55 and 56 are provided for positioning on each of the two faces of the plate 54 in the groove 53. At the level of the lower cross member, the plate 54 rests on a shim 57 as shown in the figure .

A modular assembly is defined which can produce walls, openings, according to any arrangements, by providing uprights or reinforcing crosspieces to separate each element. For example, use is made of reinforcements 58 formed from a profile containing a metal tube 59, the profile having smooth outer faces and having a rectangular section. The profiles 1 of the first type, forming the frames, relate to the elements 58 by any fixing means, but preferably by screwing.

The fixing of the frames 1 on the walls of a building or on the reinforcements 58 is carried out by screwing by means of mechanical jacks 60 making it possible to adjust the distance between the sections 1 and the surface to which they relate. This avoids the inconvenience due to surface defects of buildings, and this device allows rapid installation.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been explicitly described, but it includes the various variants and generalizations thereof contained in the field of claims below.
